Thanks, Nicole! :D

Being a big fan of David and a Grandmother to three granddaughters who have been so involved in school work (?) and soccer (!), I had noticed a lack of passion for anything Archuleta.

To bring them into reality, I launched my plan of attack. I took two of them, 17 and 15, to his concert in SL as a favor because I didn’t want to drive 200 miles by my little OLD self.

However my 13 year, being one of those who marches to her own drum, was a little harder. I came upon some Real SL soccer game tickets so I invited her to come to the game but didn’t mention David. She gladly came with me since she plays and loves soccer.

About 150 miles from home she gave me her best ‘give me a break’ look and said, “Oh by the way Grandma, I know David Archuleta will be there.” All I could say was “And how do you feel about that?” without laughing.

She was ok with it but not excited at all. We did our mall trek (part of the bait to get her to SL) and headed for the stadium. She started to get excited about the game while I looked forward to the National Anthem. (I think I should act my age but what fun would that be!)

Katie was very quiet during the National Anthem, which was a thousand time better live than on video.

They went from 0 to 100 on the fan-o-meter 15 minutes into the concert.

During the concert she watched the big screen with a “mezmerized” look on her little face and I actually saw a little bounce during Zero Gravity!

As we were leaving the stadium she looked up at me and said “Ok Grandma, you converted me. David is a REALLY good singer and cute too.” Which since she is 13, I interpret to mean he is REALLY cute and a good singer too, lol. Pretty cool right?

When we got to the car she settled in and said with a sheepish grin, “You wouldn’t happen to have any David Archuleta music with you would you?” Well hmmmmmm, let me check. She pushed play, Angels came on and we headed for the traffic jam. She was my most difficult Granddaughter but is now a dedicated fan.

We blasted David music the whole way home with a repeat of Zero Gravity over and over. Sooo mission accomplished there.

Oh and one last thing, there actually was a soccer game in there somewhere. The wind had started blowing and it was getting chilly by 10 p.m. but as David walked out and went up on stage the wind stopped. Pretty interesting huh? Our guy is golden.

David Archuleta Sings the National Anthem at Rio Tinto Stadium

David looks fantastic in his REAL jersey, which apparently says ARCHULETA on the back. The mic cut out for a second, but as usual David sounds great! Singing sensation David Archuleta seemed to be a bit preoccupied during an interview session Wednesday afternoon in a spacious suite overlooking Rio Tinto Stadium. It wasn’t due to any of the questions he entertained — which the Murray teenager enthusiastically fielded for the better part of 30 minutes. No, there was just something about the [...]
