I went searching on iTunes to see if anybody new had recorded, ‘Mary, Did You Know?’ Yes. I admit it. I’m just like you. Yes you would! You’d check had you written it. I bet Buddy Greene has checked. No. Probably not. Not that he’s more spiritual, just computer illiterate.

While I was checking I stumbled upon the most beautiful Christmas album I’ve heard in a long, long, long time. Here’s a link on Amazon.com, but I downloaded it on iTunes. It’s by that kid who did real good on American Idol. His name is David Archuleta.

Mr. Lowry tweeted (MarkAlanLowry) a link to this blog topic yesterday and also posted David’s “Mary Did You Know” YouTube (below) on his blog.

Mark Lowry is best known as a singer and comedian who spent more than a decade as a regular fixture of Bill Gaither’s vocal band. But years from now, when all is said and done, Lowry’s most enduring legacy will probably be the beautiful little song that he wrote 18 years ago as a meditation for a Christmas program at his church…Six years later, harmonica virtuoso Buddy Greene supplied just the right music and “Mary, Did You Know?” was complete.
