Ivan’s David Archuleta Meet & Greet Story: “I spazzifully walked to the tour bus…”
My name is Ivan, and here is my story from the David Archuleta concert in Beaumont, TX on March 11th! I got to the Scout Bar at about 12:30 pm. There were about 20 people there waiting in the hot sun. We got our stuff, sat down, and got ready for the lonnggg day.
We met lots of great fans in line. We all talked and sang David songs, and ate, haha. I planned on meeting David, thanks to our friend Todd here at AFS! I wasn’t sure yet, but we needed more information. Anyway, the people next to us said that the band came out earlier, but they said they would come back out later. They were enjoying the nice warm weather unlike previous stops, haha. So we waited. And waited. Then we saw Kendra! She didn’t come talk to us, but she came out to meet up with her nieces, I think. She was just strolling around with the cute kids enjoying the nice weather. So we waited, ate, waited, and waited some more. I got a chicken strip sandwich that I couldn’t eat due to excitement.
Then we saw Eli! I ran to him and got 2 pictures and 2 autographs! Eli was soo nice and funny. And then many people saw David getting out of a white van and going into his tour bus! They said he got out of the van with a hood on and quickly got into the dark brown bus. That sneaky boy! They probably sent Eli out for distraction. So if you’re going to a concert, if any of the band members come out, be sure to look out for David, because he’s a sneaky boy! After that, Alex came out! HE WAS HILARIOUS! He was playing around and he was fun! I got a picture and an autograph!
After Alex, Mike came out. I think Mike was shy because he wasn’t as talkative as the others, but he was nice! I also got a picture and 2 autographs! After they left, we went back to waiting, and waiting. I decided to stay close to the tour bus in case David came out! I sat at the bench across
from it. I knew he was in there, so I was waving, hahaha. Maybe he was looking at me!
The band came out and walked around a lot, and there was word out that David was going to eat at the restaurant across the street at 5 pm. My dad asked Eli if he was ready for tonight and Eli said, “I was born ready.”
The staff said that we could line up at the door at 3 PM, but it was already 4:30! we were anxious, so this brave lady decided to charge up to the door and demand to wait there now. Her and her friends got up and then people decided to follow, and other people followed, and so on and so on.. so there were fifty angry people charging up to the staff member. Immediately he panicked and jumped out of his chair. He said, “woah, woah woah. What is this?!” The lady said, “You guys said we could line up at 3 and we have waited long enough!” Oh yeah..
Don’t mess with us Arch Angels.
The guy told us to create an orderly line at the other side until we could line up at the door. Immediately people started running to the front, but we pushed them out and told them that the people who got here at 5 AM (my friend, Michelle) needed to be first in line. So we waited in the line for a while, and we got entertained by an energetic elderly man. He was HILARIOUS
So then, we got escorted in an “orderly” fashion to the door! We settled, and there were about 15 people in front of us. We were pretty sure to get front row, or close to it!
So we waited… and waited… and we could hear sound check! David sounded awesome!
I went to take a break at the restaurant across the street, and I saw the band there! They were eating comfortably.
I was too shy to say hi, haha, but I already met them so it was fine, haha. I then got a call from Todd saying that I was on the meet and greet list! I freaked out and since the meet and greet people had just went in, i went and asked. Unfortunately, they said that I was nowhere on the list! I was sad, but then I got another call from Todd saying that I would stay after the show to meet David! At that point I was like: “:O -faints- Aaaahhhhhh! :O kfdlgjdgsjkd!” I got very excited and I was jumping up and down, trying not to scare people! Haha.
We waited more, and then I saw Lesley Roy! I am a big fan of hers so it was so cool to see her! And then… this moment… I hear my phone ring, and I answer. I heard a voice, but it wasn’t familiar. I could barely hear cause it was so loud, and then I hear the voice say, “This is Jeff Archuleta.” :O Jeff called me!! I tried to stay cool. I didn’t wanna act like a crazed fan! I didn’t want him to get weirded out! So we talked about me meeting David, and about how I need to find Ray, his manager. Jeff told me how greatly he appreciates my support and that I deserve to meet David. I thought that was so thoughtful of him. So then, our conversation was over, but Jeff Archuleta called me! How cool is that?!
So then I was on a mission: I needed to find David’s manager, Ray, and tell him who I am. we had no luck finding him while waiting outside, but when we got inside, hopefully, it would be a different story. People started getting in, and started sprinting in. I was really nervous. So when he tore my ticket and put it in the bucket, I ran as fast as I could and squished into 2nd row! WOOHOO! I was so excited, yet I was nervous if I would find Ray. We were supposed to find him right when we got in, but I was too worried about a good spot that I didn’t have the time and hopefully, we would find him after the show. After waiting for about an hour, and being squished by a chair and sweating like crazy, it was concert time!!
Lesley first came out. I love Lesley. She was amazing. Loud, but amazing, haha. And after Lesley, we waited… and waited… and it was finally… DAVID TIME! The crowd chanted, “DAVID! DAVID! DAVID!” Finally, we see Mike!! The rest of the band comes out and then.. “TOUCH MY HAND”! When David first came out I was hypnotized and so mesmerized.
The whole concert was absolutely incredible, and an experience I’ll never forget. During “Touch My Hand”, I TOUCHED DAVID’S HAND!
His hand was cold and dry, hahaha, but oh well.
After the concert, I was on my way out of the crowd when the people started chanting for David! All of a sudden, David comes out and gets on the piano. He says, “HEY!” Haha. He does 2 encores and finally it was over.
We tried to rush out of the crowd and find Ray. The staff guy said that he wasn’t here, but we were on a mission: FIND RAY.
We went to the front desk and asked the girl if Ray was here. This man comes up to me and says, “Ian? Ivan?” IT WAS RAY! He said that he has been waiting for us. Apparently, Jeff called so many people and tried so hard to make meeting David possible. Jeff was amazing for doing that. He told us to wait around till the crowd by David’s bus went away. He gave us the all access passes so we wouldn’t get kicked out, and we waited… and waited… haha. Finally, the crowd was gone! Ray came over and said, “Come with me.”
We were going to his tour bus! I spazzifully walked to the tour bus, and we waited at the door for awhile. Finally, I see a scarf and converse! IT WAS DAVID! I couldn’t believe that I was finally meeting David. AND PERSONALLY! My hard work paid off! We talked for about 5 minutes, met his mom, chatted about American Idol, singing, and sadly, they had to go. :’( We said goodbye, and David patted/rubbed his hand on my shoulder and said, “See ya later, Ivan” As he walked back in the bus, I looked in my bag and realized that I forgot to give him my scrapbook! :O He already went back in the bus, so I asked the security guard to give it to David. We got in the car and went home.
Now, I sit here thinking about my unforgettable experience. I will always remember the best day of my life.
Let the music flow,
Ivan
AFD went to the Gala
by ArchieFanDoc
I went to the Gala Event at Century Plaza Hyatt — worth the 500 dollars!!!
Thanks to my good friend Janey – who sent me email while I was still at work yesterday – I almost did not open up “Archuleta email account- I should not have – I was at work – I found the link to the press release and called the number — a little after 6 — I was the last person she sold a ticket too. Most of the attendees were the Board of Governors and their friends and family, Celebrities, — I had several people ask me if I was on the board — no, then ask if I worked at Cedars – - no, then asked if associated with the stem cell research institute — no, then asked what brought me to this event — hhhmmmmm I wonder.
Event food Meal – $30 dollars
Larry King, Seacrest, Riche – $100 dollars
David Archuleta – Priceless
(thanks Judith)
Well after working 10 hour day – got into the car and had pleasant 2 hour drive going 5 mile an hour on the 405 freeway! Unfortunately I arrived after David had completed doing the photo shoots outside the ballroom. AFD (ArchieFanDoc) crying.
I was standing out side the ballroom waiting for the doors to open.
I heard David doing a sound check with Crush – so went up to the closed doors and listened and tried to peak in. A waiter from inside went and opened the door and I was conked in the head. Yes I think the Dean of a Medical School saw that one.
While I was still standing there with the little birdies flying around my head– guess who walks of the ballroom – David Archuleta! Well if I was not already goofy from head conking – I went completely stupid — as he rushed past me — he is a zippy little guy – I mustered a “Hi” — how brilliant — he stopped for a nano second and looked at me a bit perplexed and squinted (did he sort of recognize me I think so) and said “Hey” then zipped away. I showed great restraint not to go chasing after him — not the venue to be crazed fan. I was happy – David Archuleta passed by me just a few feet away. He was wearing light brown pants, white shirt, black vest, and the ever present sneakers!
Jeff was the only one in the place wearing a baseball cap.
The event started — Larry King emceed. He made some David Jokes through out the night – something about he looks like his bar mitzva (spelling?) is next week (age 13), and for some reason had to refer him at the mormon kid.
But he also gushed GUSHED about David -
He said david was an incredible music talent and will have a long and illustrious career as the other man performing tonight.
David sang first – he sang in order:
ALTNOY
Works for Me
Crush
Ryan Seacrest received an award. During his speech her referred to the musical guests that he arranged for — he referred to David as Archie – then corrected himself saying David Archuleta (I doubt very few in the room knew what the Archie reference was about). He said David is just so likable, that you want to just put him into your back pocket, and then called him just a teddy bear (whoa there fangirl Ryan)
Larry Kind later came back on to introduce Richie — he said something about how lucky we were to be in the presence of both David Archuleta and Lionel Richie.
Yes we were!!!!! I was able to hear my favorite singer of the LAST CENTURY and my favorite singer of THIS CENTURY on the same night!!!!!!
Let me just say this — LA/Beverly Hills types are strange people — they were chattering away during David’s set — I was so mad. Earlier Larry King was shhh-ing us – three times ((( I can not say that Larry King said shhhhh to me – ha ha ) – we needed some during David’s set. I think for this setting – ballads would have been better- I am sure people would have quickly quieted down with something like You Can. Many people left before Lionel came on – with people getting up and leaving during his set! I know it was a week night – people needed to get home — but really???? It was like – oh yeah — I already heard him a zillion times – no biggie – just Lionel Richie.
During Richie’s set – David and Jeff came out of side room near the stage to watch – my table was no more than 30 feet away — ok I know I creeped him out because I caught him catching me several times looking at him and not watching Lionel.
David was taking photo or video of Lionel with his iPhone of Lionel – all excited – it was just so cute to see him thrilled to watch Lionel perform.
Lionel ended with All Night Long — before he started he said it looked like we all needed to get up and dance and clap along — by then I was the only one left at my table so pretty much stuck out — 20 to 30 feet from David — I hope he did not see my pathetic attempt at shaking my groove thing — but hey!!!! I got to watch him beep bopping to the music. ((Jeff did not shake his groove thing)) As the song was ending – I thought ok now it will be appropriate to “move in” (but have to get past the event planners and the Meet the Kardashian ?sp people — who are they, I just recognized Bruce Jenner) — anyhow – Lionel finished up – the lights finally went on – and David and Jeff quickly departed through the door. AFD crying again.
I loitered out side the ball room and then the lobby area for quite awhile = to no luck.
Well it was worth the $133.33 per song.
*Thanks for the story, Cathy! Sorry it took me so long to post.

A Night to Remember: Northampton Recap and Michael’s Story
First I want to say that this story is written to share with fans/family/friends etc. how selfless David is. The person in the story, Michael, wants everyone to know what David did for him. The second reason for the story is for Michael – he wasn’t able to come and spend the day hanging out with us and I wanted him to feel like he was right there in our group – so part of the story is concert details, and part is Michael’s story.
We decided to go up to Northampton the night before and beat the snowstorm. I spent an anxiety filled night obsessively checking the club site to make sure the show wasn’t canceled and following the weather. My friends met us up there and we had drinks at the hotel. It was fun to hang out with them.
Next morning we woke up to almost a foot of snow. Got to the venue at 9 am. Feels like temperature was about 9 degrees, there were wind gusts up to 40 mph and it was snowing and icing. Sidewalk wasn’t shoveled so we climbed into the snow bank to wait in line. Lovely. We were determined though so we stayed. FYI, hand warmers do NOT work when it’s that cold out. We took short breaks to warm up in our cars and my hubby brought us hot drinks. The tour bus rolled in around 10 am. We waved to it; it was only us and one other girl. They parked across the street from us. David sent the bus driver out to ask us to please not risk our health and go somewhere warm. Sorry David, but we had to get first in line, hope you understand.
It was a very long day. Eli and Mike came out of the bus and talked to us. Got a pic with Eli. Mike had no coat on so he was more rushed. Eli’s fingers look horrible. They got smashed in the bus door I guess and ouch! He was really nice though. Alex went out next. Then we met the sound guy, he came over and hugged my friend Oy to warm her up, a really sweet guy. Ray came out too. I think the only person we didn’t see was Kendra. At one point, Ray brought us their pizza off the bus from the night before in case we were hungry.
The snow was so bad that the bus had nowhere to park (street parking only there) so my husband (with no coat mind you) and my friend Debbie shoveled the tour bus a parking spot and then shoveled David and everyone else out of the bus. Did I mention how great my hubby is? He was such a trooper and a good sport the whole trip. David somehow snuck off the bus while it was in plain sight to go eat or whatever. David, you are good at that. Sneaky, sneaky! Jeff came over to talk to us. He was so concerned about us being cold and sick that he spent forever trying to figure out a way to go buy tickets and number them so we could come back before show time and re-line up but the club manager said there were too many people and it would just be a mess. Thank you Jeff, for thinking of us though.
I had met a friend online, Michael who is terminally ill. Over the past month or two, we have become great email friends. I was honored to meet him for the show (his last one). Oystar and the team at Team Archie got Michael a ticket even though it was sold out since he was in the hospital when the tickets went on sale and they sold out fast. I emailed around and found out there was a good chance David would meet with Michael if at all possible. I knew it meant the world to Michael, and I was determined to do whatever I could to make him dream come true. He asked me to be there to share his moment with David, and I am so honored that I was there. More on that later.
A couple of hours before the doors opened, we found out that we were getting let in early so Michael wouldn’t have to wait in the cold. I think between Team David knowing about him coming, and the club manager who had been hanging out with us that day, they made sure we got in early. We went and warmed up for an hour at the hotel and when we showed up, we got let in. We got to watch the sound check but David was not there for that, he couldn’t get back out of the bus (that he somehow snuck back into with a line of people staring at the bus, is there a trap door in that thing?!) so they had to let everyone in the club and then I think they got David in (there were only 2 doors in and both were where the line was. Just guessing though.) We got into our spots before anyone else came in. Front and center. The stage was waist high on me barely, and I’m short and no barriers! My husband sat in the back with Michael and they had a raised view over everyone’s heads.
Lesley Roy was good! She broke a guitar string in the middle of a song though. My husband liked her too! I got her set list at the end.
Then David came out. I was expecting to get mauled being front and center but it wasn’t that bad. Because the club is so small and they packed 800 people into the room, they kept announcing there were small kids up front so don’t push or they would stop the show. I guess most people listened because while we were packed like sardines, the pushing wasn’t too awful. The stage was about waist high, and we were front row, literally resting our hands on the stage. David was RIGHT THERE singing in front of us, no barriers. For parts he was so close he was leaning over us to sing and reach out. We were right next to the keyboard too. I have never seen him so comfortable. He DANCED! He did the pogo jump thing during a few songs, the band did too. I have to say how much I <3 the band. They were motioning for us to cheer louder, dancing, really getting into it. I hope he can keep working with them!! My camera died in the middle of filming Zero Gravity, but I knew my friend next to me filmed it and djbell from youtube was behind us. Woo!
During the show I saw Jeff on the side door telling security we were staying after the show for the meet and greet with Michael. When the show was over we hung around the empty venue. There was our group, another small group with a terminally ill boy who wanted to meet David and Jeff said sure and a few other girls. My husband and I talked to Jeff for at least a half hour waiting to make sure that everyone else was gone so David wouldn’t get mobbed. He talked about how Zero Gravity was passed over but they were thankful to get as many of David’s songs on the album as they did in such a short time! He said be on the lookout for more stuff written by David – radio friendly, great beat etc. EEEEE! Can’t wait for the next album (after the Christmas one). I told him I loved David’s music, but loved him for the person he is. Jeff smiled, he got what I meant. My husband talked to him about how real David is. They talked about how my husband would help people out and how David does that too and Jeff said he tells David how proud of him he is that he’s grounded and that he really “gets it”. We know, Jeff. We also told him how comfortable David is up there now and the DANCING! Jeff said could you ever imagine watching him at Idols tour that he would be like he is now. That boy has moves and rhythm let me tell you! When he says he can’t dance, he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. He was so fun to watch and we told Jeff that. He has the proud papa smile. All of you who still have a show to go see are going to be surprised!
Oh, and I forgot I met Josie and Nonni! They sat on the raised part in the back with my husband and Michael for the show. I got a picture with Josie. She is super sweet and so is Nonni!
Alex and Mike came out and we talked to them. My husband talked to Mike about how he’s living the dream and how he used to play out when he was younger. They had a lot in common. Alex and Mike were both super sweet and signed Michael’s CD liner and talked with him. Jeff also.
Then my husband said “turn around” and David was right there. He came straight over to Michael and held out his hand. He held Michael’s hand while Michael talked with him. I backed up so it could be private between them. I was behind Michael’s wheel chair with a full view of David’s face. His eyes filled with tears as he held Michael’s hand. My husband captured a beautiful picture of it. This is Michael’s last concert and his only chance to meet David, and David knew that. They talked for awhile and David signed a picture and Michael’s CD.
I went over to David when they finished talking and I said thank you so much for doing this for him, it means the world and I reached out to hug him. He hugged me very very tightly and said no problem at all and smiled.
David went over to the other boy and talked with him and the people that took him to the show. He signed autographs for him and took pictures with him.
David came back over to where Michael and I were. He talked to him again. I told David how we were the crazy ones out there at 9 am in the snow and I couldn’t feel my toes. I was kidding but I think he felt bad, he was like awww oh really. It was totally worth the cold and the wait for this day.
The thing that hit me most of the whole experience was the emotion between David and Michael. I’ve never experienced anything like it. If you could have seen David’s eyes…kindness, compassion, caring, love all rolled into one. His eyes never left Michael’s, he was leaned over eye level with him, I will never forget how he was. He was genuine with him, took his time, and you could tell it meant a lot to David as well as Michael. I can’t look at that one picture without crying my eyes out.
We talked with David some more. My husband shook his hand and told David how “real” he is. David smiled, he knew and thanked him. My husband asked him about iCarly and David said he really had fun filming it. I told him how all the fans LOVE Zero Gravity and want it on the next album or as a single (HINT HINT DAVID AND JIVE, WE LOOOVE IT!) I know we talked more but it’s kind of a blur. I got a picture with David before we left and thanked him again and he said you’re so very welcome. Him and Michael said a private goodbye.
I can’t say enough how honored I am to be part of David’s fan family. And I do consider us a family. We all get David. We all love him. We’re in it for the long haul, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I only wish that EVERYONE felt what we feel for David and really understood what an outstanding and special person he is.
And I want to thank my husband for everything he did from driving me there and back, going up early to get a hotel room, hanging out with my Angel concert buddies, doing drink runs, holding my spot in line when I had to go unthaw my feet, going on drink runs, warming us up in line, shoveling out the tour bus with no coat on, carrying Michael’s wheelchair, sitting with him for the show, being a good sport about hanging out for an extra hour after the show even though he got 2 hours of sleep and had to work a 16 hour day today. I can’t even express how grateful I am. I love you.
I also want to thank Oystar, and Team Archie on behalf of Michael for getting him his ticket for the show. You girls are the best!
Jen, Deb, and Oy, thank you for waiting all day and I couldn’t have picked anyone better to share the show and the whole experience with!
I want to thank everyone who worked with me to make Michael’s dream of meeting David come true. I’m not sure I’m supposed to give details so I won’t, but you know who you are and I love you for it.

Mirta and Janey’s Excellent Archu-Adventure!
I don’t usually write and definitely not this much. I just had to write down about one of the most exciting weeks I have had going to Gainesville and Daytona and meeting David!! I was also excited to meet some of the most wonderful, loving, classy and devoted David Archuleta fans!! – Mirta Vila
GAINESVILLE!!!!
A week ago Friday, Sheryl calls me screaming on the phone. I couldn’t tell what the heck she was saying with all her screaming and rambling on, but I could only guess that it was David related. I heard David, radio and Daytona and finally I was able to put the pieces together. She had just won Meet and Greet passes to Daytona to meet David!!! I could not scream along with her because I would have scared the 4 toddlers that were having snack at the time. I tried to answer an incoming call, but I cut the person off. About a minute later my phone displays that I had a voice mail. I thought it was strange since I did not hear it ring again. When I heard the message, my heart started beating so fast, I thought it was going to come out of my chest. I could not believe what I was hearing. What were the odds that Sheryl and I would win passes to the same event? Slim to none, I would guess!! We did!! We both won and we would finally get the opportunity to Meet and Greet David in Daytona!!!!
We had plans already for Gainesville on Monday and had taken a day off from work. We thought, Oh My Gosh, we have to take another day off. Obviously, it had to be done because this was a once-in-a-life-time opportunity, especially since that opportunity was TAKEN away from us in Tampa at the AI Tour stop. Needless to say, we were a basket case for the rest of the day.
Amy asked if we could pick her up because she did not want to drive by herself. The trip to Gainesville was exciting since we were going to see David and the weather cooperated with our drive there. It was a bit cold and it did not start drizzling till we got there. We arrived at 10:00 and there were a couple of fans already there. We talked, took pictures and exchanged emails addresses. That was cool.
While we were waiting for David to arrive two newspaper reporters approached us and started interviewing us. One reporter was from the ALLIGATOR, the local paper and the other from the University. They really didn’t know much about David. They were so impressed by our knowledge and enthusiasm we had about David. Little do they know how FANATIC or DEVOTED we all are!! They suggested we have our own web site on David. Go figure!! I know you already read the article. Here is the link anyways. http://www.alligator.org/articles/2009/02/03/news/local/090203_idol.txt
Sheryl kept asking me how was I able to keep my cool? I told her just wait till I see David I am going to lose it then!! Sure enough, when I heard the screams my heart started pounding so hard because I knew it was David.. OH MY GOSH!! David was getting out of the car and “RUNNING” up the stairs!!! I felt like a kid again, of course the flood gates opened!! I took a picture of him then – JUST PERFECT!! The place was packed. They were expecting a HUGE crowd, but the rain kept some people away. There were people downstairs with their umbrellas and even in the rain there was about 300 if not more. David always so nice and so gracious kept acknowledging them by going over to the railing and waving at them and asking them if they were doing okay.
He answered some questions, he SMILED, he sang “A LITTLE TOO NOT OVER YOU” AND “CRUSH”, he answered more questions. Sheryl and Amy yelled “WE LOVE YOU DAVID” and I yelled “TE QUIERO DAVID”, and he kept smiling and gave us an “OH THANKS YOU GUYS!!” and again he smiles!! He kept looking at everyone almost like a camera scanning the area. When he looked at you — Oh My Gosh…. Those eyes… They are just glorious!! At one point Jeff had to take charge to make room for David to go by. After that he signed autographs that went very well considering the amount of people that were there. We got our autographs picture that he was giving away. I told him that I would see him the next day in Daytona and that I was bringing my son. He goes… Oh COOL, THAT’S AWESOME!! He just cracks me up because that was such a David answer!!!!!!
DAYTONA!!!!!!
Met Janey and Monica for the first time on Tuesday after picking them up at the hotel. These ladies are awesome David fans!! After that we headed to Sheryl’s house. Never thought I would find somebody that would talk as much and as fast as me — Janey. She is great!! We all piled up in Sheryl’s car – Janey, Monica, Sheryl, Sarah and Suzane (her girls) my son Brock and myself at 7:00 a.m. We had great stories to tell, personal and David stories.
We were all very excited about going to Daytona and seeing David again and meeting up with some of David’s AWESOME AND CLASSY fans. It’s always nice to be able to put a face to a name!! Met Marc outside, he was already there. He is very nice and talkative as well. That’s awesome in a man. Ha ha!! I didn’t see Sandra till later after we were in the back room waiting for David. I called her cell but she did not answer. She called back and everyone looked at me and they even looked for their cell phones because “CRUSH” is my ring tone. That was so funny everyone laughed. Finally found her and her friend at the bar. She is a lovely person!!
As soon as we got there, we had breakfast. It was not the best but at least the children had some nourishment. We all waited for David in the back room by the bar. It got full fairly quick so they started bringing in extra chairs. Whoever thought of putting the children on the floor in front of the stage area was a genius!!
David was running a bit late because he stopped at the Children’s Hospital before the Meet & Greet. When everyone staring screaming we knew it had to be David. Cameras started clicking and videos rolling!!
He said hi to everyone and his face just lit up when he saw and made reference to the “Little People” sitting in front of him. He and the DJ talked for a bit, then they started with the Q&A. I was very happy that they let the children ask a lot of questions. Brock and Suzanne were able to ask questions. Yeah!! They were so excited. Brock took a lot of close pictures and Monica took great videos.
He sang “CRUSH” and “A LITTLE TOO NOT OVER YOU”. Then the picture taking and autograph signing began. The “Little People” went first. I was trying so hard to be quick on taking pictures of Brock and David that I kept turning OFF the camera. Sheryl came to my rescue!! My son who is only 11 was a BIG fan of David and after today he is BIGGER fan!! He is not letting anyone touch the autographed CD or the poster, not even me.
Then it was the adults’ turn. I took pictures with David and myself (so I thought). I said a few things to him in which I can’t really remember. He noticed my Tour 08-09 jacket. Oh My Gosh…. He touched my jacket and asked me….. “Cool, where did you get it?” I told him Sheryl got it for me when she went to Atlanta. Then he said “AWESOME!!” I am still standing next to him at this point. Then I got brave and went for it!! I asked very softly. “David”, I said. He looked up at and me and said…. Yes? “May I give you a hug?” He literally jumped up from his chair and said…. “SURE!” Those were one of the GREATEST 10 seconds of my life!!! Ahhhhhh!!
I was happy to see Miriam, his aunt once again. I would like to think that she remembered Sheryl and myself from Tampa. She is such a nice, happy, gracious lady. David’s cousins are great kids as well. Miriam’s older son is such a gentleman. We talked for a long time. Found out he just broke up with his girlfriend, he plays baseball, the short stop position and loves Dunkin Doughnuts. He also told me that he likes Cook, but if he had to choose between David’s and Cook’s voice — hands down he would choose David’s voice because he can sing anything!! He was beaming with pride for his awesome and talented cousin!!
Met Jeff and Richard for the first time and that was a wonderful experience in itself. Jeff couldn’t understand why everywhere he goes people are fascinated on taking his picture. We told him it was because he had done and is still doing an AMAZING job raising David. That because of him and Lupe we are able to enjoy David’s voice and talent and the Beautiful person that he has grown to be. Richard is an awesome person to talk to as well. He took pictures with almost everyone. It’s always nice to hear great stories about David coming from close friends and family.
Everything just went by so quickly. It almost feels like it never happened or that it happened a long time ago.
When I got home I couldn’t wait to download the pictures on my computer. As I started flipping through the pictures, I couldn’t believe my eyes. The pictures I had taken of David and myself DID NOT come out.
I had my son take pictures of David during his performance since he was sitting right up front — his pictures came out perfect by the way. He must have touched the wrong button that the pictures taken after that like Jeff, Richard and David did not come out!!! I was so devastated that I cried. Luckily Sheryl took some duplicates of Jeff and Richard, but not David and myself.
I am very disappointed that my pictures did not come out, but I am EXTREMELY blessed to have finally met David personally. He is a JOY to watch, talk to and to be around. He brings a smile to your face without realizing it!!
David and the entire Archuleta family are AWESOME!!!!
Again Janey and Monica are DOLLS!! I hope to see them again. Marc and Sandra again happy to have met you, you guys are great. Todd, I was disappointed that you did not go. I’m sure we’ll get another opportunity to meet, hopefully at one of David’s concerts. Yeah!!

Editor’s Note: Play the video at about 7:00. Mirta called Janey’s cell phone and her ring tone is David’s new single, “A Little Too Not Over You!” Watch David’s reaction when he hears it. Definitely a special DAVID MOMENT for Janey and Mirta!!!
That was a week that I will never forget!!!

Susan Saw David At The Sundance Film Festival 01/17/2009
(Special thanks to Susan for sharing her story and photographs with Fan Scene!)
-Met up with Mary and she and I and my daughter made the trek to Park City. Listened to David’s CD all the way up and all the way down . .. of course!!!
-Drove round and round trying to find a place to park. Parked quite a long distance away and walked and walked to get to venue, dodging patches of ice all the while.
-Went to the venue and finally find where everyone was standing in line – luckily inside because it was pretty cold. Saw Janey and Mary and Janey had a great hug and exchange, and I got a great hug from Janey too!!! On the way in saw Amy and was like “HI AMMMMYYYYY!!!!” As we headed to the back of the line, ha ha
-Waited in line forever . . . they didn’t even let us in until close to 9:30!!! They had come out and said we had to have our ID to get in, I kept worrying because my daughter is only 17. Mary: calm as could be through everything!! I finally went to the front of the line and found out from an employee that that we had to show ID only if we wanted buy alcohol inside . .. . .that’s not what they said at first.
-While waiting, we saw David come out of his soundcheck and walk down the hall . .. I also saw Jeff and Jazzy or Amber walk into the venue ….. as they walked in one of the guys at the door said to someone else . . .are they supposed to go in there . . . a lot of people were like “that’s David’s family!!!!”
-We finally got in the venue, and we found a spot quite close to the stage even though we were on the side . . . There was about one row of people in front of us. We waited forever. Alex Boye was standing by us and my daughter was sooooooo happy to talk to him because he had spoken at her school and she was so inspired by him!! Finally Alex Boye started the show, then we had the other singer, Benton Paul, then all kinds of things happened as they tried to stall . . . .. . I was getting antsy because of Janey and Amy flying in for this and everything and I just felt so bad . . . I mean it’s almost 11:30 by now and no David yet!!! The show was supposed to go from 9-11 . .. Mary: calm as a cucumber and so patient!!!! No one had told us anything at all about anyone being stuck in an elevator at this point. It all seemed a little wild . . . the stage had been coming apart and there were all these cords everywhere and they were taping them down and stuff. . . . .
-We were in there really tight . . . . and all these people kept squeezing past us . . . back and forth back and forth . . .. we began to wonder if David would walk past us because EVERYONE was going past us . . . Sure enough they told us to make an aisle way . . .they didn’t say why but we knew David was coming that way. There was a door right behind us and it became obvious David was coming in that door . . . we kept watching the door . . .it was pretty funny because so many times we would look and then be disappointed. . . . . . You have to understand there really wasn’t room for us to make an aisle way . . . we were in there tight, but we did the very best we could and none of us wanted it to be uncomfortable for David to have to squeeze past us so we backed up as much as we could . .. . . .usually when someone would pass, we were just squeezing them through . .. . . so when he went past us he was just right there . . . .it was pretty cool to kind of be the welcoming committee for David as he came in . .. as you can see, he was all smiles!!!
-Oh yea, and like Mary said, Janey was RIGHT by the stage right in front of David and Amy was just right behind her to the side also. They were in a great spot.
-You’ve heard how great the performances were. Being that close up, Mary and I noticed how very hard David was working during each song. He really makes it look easy, but he really works hard and puts his whole self into it. . . . of course, we know that, but it was cool to be up close and witness it.
-When David came of the the little makeshift stage, there was no where for him to go . . except this little tiny cubby like thing in the wall . . . .it became obvious that for him to leave, he would be coming back through our way again . . . I looked over there and he was kind of turned away from everyone and standing right by his Dad, I saw him glance our way and then look away really fast . . I think he was a little nervous about how he was going to get out of there . . .ha ha
-As he walked past us to leave, Mary and I got to say “Thank You David” and of course he said “You’re welcome.” My daughter was sooooooo happy because she said she told him he did a great job and he looked her right in the eyes and said Thank You. My daughter also told Daniel that he did a great job and he was very appreciative and said thank you too. When David walked in the first time, I was clapping and smiling and he looked directly at me then, but when I said Thank You David, I was kind of at a weird angle, so he just kind of glanced sideways at me and said Thank You, but he was able to look Mary right in the eye and say Thank You!!!
-It was so cool to see Daniel accompany David . .. that was really neat.
-I was really happy because after the concert, Amy was standing right there, and I got to go tell her thanks for all she does and how much I appreciate it . .. and she said “Oh it’s my pleasure.” I’m just really glad I got to do that.
-Oh yea, when David came in, a lot of people came in with him and kind of crowded in front of us, but we were still able to see quite well . .. I don’t know if I will ever get to be that close again so it was really cool. It was cute because Jazzy and Amber had brought a lot of friends with them . .. at least that’s what it seemed like anyway. (Note: it wasn’t the Archukids who stood in front of us . .. ha ha . . .they were over behind the stage and we were at the side . … . . it was like press people and photographers who stood in front of us)
Thanks, Susan!
Ann Met David at the Jason Mraz Concert 10/01/08
Hi,
I was at Jason Mraz’s concert at the Greek last night (he was fantastic!), and I saw David there with Jason Castro and Jason’s girlfriend- I don’t know who else. I saw him right before Jason Mraz started singing, so even though I LOVE Jason Mraz, it was hard to concentrate and enjoy the show because I kept looking back behind me to see what David was doing. I looked back at him quite often and saw him talking to Jason Castro and taking some pictures with his camera. At the end of the concert, I saw Jeff Archuleta was there with them and as they were leaving, many people asked David to take a picture with them and sign autographs. Even though you could tell they wanted to leave, David was really nice and posed with everyone- including me. My friend took a picture with my camera, but it turned out that David was looking at the wrong camera, so after my friend told me, I asked David to take another picture, and he did it. He was so nice to do it considering how many people asked, but I told him that the first picture didn’t come out, so he posed with me again. I can’t wait to see him at the Ellen show!
Ann
Thanks Ann!!!!
Heather’s Story
I’ve met David twice now! Once in Cincinnati, Ohio and then again in Lexington, Ky. Each time was AMAZING, but I have to admit the Lexington, Ky experience was a bit more memorable for me. While David was a total sweetheart each time I met him, he just seemed in such high spirits in Ky. Maybe because he had just flown back from NYC from shooting a photo shoot for his album but either way he was giggling and just even more happy than normal! Anyway, I put my cell phone in my shirt and let it continuously play “Crush”! When David, walked up to me in line, he looked up at me and smiled then giggled and started singing “Crush”! He danced around alittle bit but kept signing autographs. If someone would speak to him he would take time to talk to them but then would find what part of the song was playing and continue singing along with it!! I could have died! When he first heard “Crush” playing, the smile that came across his face will forever be apart of me! Then he looked me dead in the eyes and started singing! It was everything I could do to keep my weak knees steady and holding me up! Anyway, after he got about 2 or 3 people down from me he was still singing and bobbing his head, so I thought OMG, you HAVE to get this on video…one problem….I was shaking so hard I couldn’t get my camera switched to video in time! I know, I SUCK! The one time David sings “Crush” live to my face and I couldn’t get it on video!! Ugh. I get mad thinking about it! Anyway, I had front row seats to both concerts and let me tell you….it doesn’t get any better than front row! EVERY idol waved at my friends and I as soon as they entered onto the stage *including David*! We were in heaven! After the concert we went back out to meet them again and I was telling the “Crush”story to someone standing around me and they suggested I try it again, so I did! I turned “Crush” on and sure enough when David got to me he looked up smiled and said “It’s still playing! You must really like it! Thanks! That means a lot!” Then he started singing and dancing!! AAAHHH!! I get excited thinking of this! I made sure to record it this time! But it’s dark and by the time I started to record he was to far away to hear the music anymore! But in my video if you watch CLOSE the 1st 2 seconds he is singing (but it looks like he is mouthing) and bobbing his head! Its fast and dark but it is worth a second look! I’m pretty sure my life is complete!

Jake’s story:
We arrived at the buses around 12:45. There was roughly around 100 people there. I had heard from other fans and friends who went to the concerts before that the buses usually arrive around 1:00, but 1:00 came and went: no buses. Around 1:30 or so, a girl wearing a Cook t-shirt (yeah…) came over and started talking to us and she said her friend is friends with a friend of David’s and the friend of David’s was texting David and he said they were running late. I don’t know if that was true, but she was right. The buses finally got there around 2:30 and the Idols didn’t come out until around 3. First was Cook, Ramielle, & Brooke. I got Brooke’s autograph (she was such a sweetheart!) and I got pictures of Cook signing other autographs. A little while after, Jason came out and soon after, Archie! He was virtually signing everything in sight and signing very quickly because he had to do press and he was only out there for about 20 minutes. I was right beside Archie for about 10 minutes, but he never saw me and never heard me (I felt so bad yelling “David!” like I was demanding him to come over and sign something because everyone else was doing the same thing and I could tell he was overwhelmed already). Soon he had to leave and go do his press stuff. Jeff came out a little while after and I got a picture with him (lol!)! He was very nice! He bragged about David the whole time he was out there. He also told us that the reasons David couldn’t stay very long was not only because of press, but because he was discussing more about his album with the company before the show! I know: excitement! I think David may have come back out because right when I left with my parents to go get something to eat, EVERYONE rushed over to see who was coming out. But, it might have been Michael Johns because everyone was waiting for him. I also got a picture and an autograph from Syesha (she was so nice!), but thats all I got.
We arrived at the Scottrade Center at about 6 and the doors opened. We got t-shirts and everything and went to our seats. Our seats were very high in the stands, but from where we were we could see the entire stage and the screen was right beside us, so that was alright. The concert was absolutely amazing! Of course we all know David blew the concert up, but I have to give props to Brooke, Carly, Syesha, & Cook because they did almost as amazing as Archie (notice I said “almost)! Even though we were in Cook’s homestate, Archie had plenty of fans cheering for him at this concert! “When You Say You Love Me” was my favorite performance of the night – it was just beautiful. He didn’t cry at this show, but you could tell he still felt overwhelmed at how many people came out to see the show – it was packed! Approximately 10,000 people there. I was kind of mad because I could see the floor from our seats and there was a whole row empty! I was like “dang!”. But, oh well, our seats were good enough. I was planning on staying after the show and trying the buses again, but my parents wouldn’t let us. They said it was too long of a wait and there was no where to park and stay. I was like “Park behind a bush! I don’t care!” Lol . I really wanted to meet Archie, but oh well. Hopefully I can meet him on his OWN tour!
Candice’s story:
I saw the concert in Saint Louis. I doubted that Archuleta could be as good as everyone said, but I was wrong. He stole the show. This boy can sing like no other. There is a humility about him that endears him to the audience. There was one rocker dude next to me that actually cried when David sang When You Say You Love Me. Magnificient.
Carol’s story:
David was truly amazing last night. My friend, who is a David Cook fan, even told me after the concert that ARCHULETA blew her away. We agreed that everybody was good, but THERE IS SOMETHING DIFFERENT, SPECIAL AND AMAZING ABOUT DAVID ARCHULETA! I’ve been telling her that since JANUARY! Finally, after seeing him in person last night, she did say he is absolutely amazing and couldn’t stop talking about it all the way home. We waited for almost 2 hours after the concert for an autograph, but there were a lot of people, and I have to say I’m ashamed that some of those people in my hometown were very rude, and pushing us up against the fence! I felt sorry for David! Some of those people were acting like idiots—–sorry to say that of my hometown people, but I wouldn’t be a part of that. I saw him up close and then left. I honestly can’t wait until David does his own concert.
Wendy’s story:
I have been hooked on FanBlast for months now. Craving any and all information about David Archuleta, but have never commented. However, after attending the St. Louis concert I felt compelled to do so. I will start by saying that this concert was planned as a “mother-daughter” outing. My eight year old daughter Marisa and I left Southaven, MS (borders Memphis, TN) headed out for St. Louis on Thursday night. This is a 4 1/2 hour drive. Friday morning we arrived at the Scottrade Center at 10:15am to find a hand full of people already waiting the arrival of the Idols. While waiting we decided to go to the box office to see if they had released any tickets with better seating. You see, we were in the nose bleed section. Much to our delight, we were able to upgrade the tickets we had for seats in section 117, Row A. This is the first row on the risers from the floor. The seats were amazing and I was able to get some incredible pictures. My daughter squeals, as only an eight year old little girl can, and we head back out to wait for the buses. Let’s just say, we waited, and waited and waited. They were late. The buses finally arrived about 2pm, to hundreds of screaming fans, holding signs for their favorite, etc. Archie came out about 20 minutes later and we went crazy of course. Unfortunately, he started on the far end from where we were standing, meaning he would get to us last. Our side screamed “We love you Archie!” He in response, turned and flashed that beautiful smile our way. Cook yelled to him, “Hey Archie, I think they love you over here!” We waited patiently, but of course by the time he got over to where we were he was pressed for time and was trying to make sure everyone atleast got his autograph. Pictures were kept to a minimum. He was so gracious and kept looking back at the Security guard like, “please, just a little longer.” FINALLY…he made it to where we were and all I could do was stare at him. Everything you have heard about him is true. He is flawless. As he approaches, someone is telling him how early she got there that morning and I mention that we drove almost five hours and he looks up at me with a shocked looked and says, “Really, from where?” So I tell him and he says “Awesome”. He is finally standing right in front of me and I hear myself thinking out loud, “I know you hear this alot, but you are absolutely gorgeous” He looks at me with those incredible eyes and says “Awww, thank you!” Like he had never heard that before. He notices my daughter and sees her shirt that says “Archuleta Chick” (see pictures) and he says, “Aww that’s cute” She then asks him to sign it, which he does. I was only able to take a picture of him doing that. Then he was whisked away. It happened so fast. It was kind of depressing to think that that was it. We might not have the opportunity to interact with him again. But God was on our side this day. Marisa is also a big fan of Syesha and refused to go to the hotel until she came out. Luckily she did and was very sweet to her and gave us After Party passes. Woo HOO! We would get to see him again! After David went inside, his Dad came out. We really got to spend alot of time talking to him. This is a man that clearly adores his son. I asked him how he managed to raise such an incredible kid and his eyes teared up as he said “I wish I could take credit for that, but that’s just David. Since a young age, he has been very sensitive and really cares about others.” He talked about his other children and my children. He is just as warm and caring as David. He mentioned that David is very hard on himself. I told him that David shouldn’t lack confidence or be hard on himself, because he has a gift. Again, he teared up. Sorry this is so long, but I’m getting the concert now.
The concert was fantastic. My daughter and I are screaming and dancing like crazy. By this time everyone pretty much knows how the show goes. It is getting to the end of Syesha’s set and my daughter looks at me and says, “Mom, my stomach feels kind of funny, like butterflies. I can’t wait for David!” I smile, because I understood just how she was feeling. WE are on our feet screaming like the fangirls that we are, then he rises from below, smoke all around him, like a vision. I have waited so long to hear him live, but nothing could have prepared me for this. There is no way to explain how powerful his voice is in person. The only word that comes to mind is BREATHTAKING! I stood there (because I couldn’t sit down) staring in amazement. I did find myself at one point holding my breath. Much has been said about his lack of stage presence, immaturity, etc. But I assure you, he owns the stage, he draws you in like he is telling a story and you don’t want to miss it. There is absolutely nothing immature about David Archuleta. Of course, his performance was flawless. Every note perfect and again no song sung the same. The crowd loves him and he basks in their love. I think at one point he says “Wow this crowd is crazy!” You might get a kick out of this too. During Stand By Me, David touches my daughter’s hand and she runs back to me and says “Mom, his hands are so soft” WYSYLM is absolutely incredible. He feels that song and he pours his heart out. I am almost in tears by the end. Notice the picture of him with his arms outstretched…so angelic. His set ends too soon. I wanted for time to stand still, so he could stay on the stage. But we had the after party to look forward to.
There were alot of people at the After Party, so we didn’t all fit in one room. It ended up being more like a meet and greet, because the Idols ended up just going down hall where we were all standing. David came out and of course tried to talk, take pictures and autograph. Always with a smile! He got to us and I had to laugh, because he stifled a yawn. He looked up at me and said “Sorry”. I said, “I guess you are tired.” To which he replied “yes”. At that moment the mom in me kicked in and I just wanted to hug him and tuck him into bed.
I said “Didn’t you fly in from LA this morning. He looked at me and said “Yeah, how did you know that?” I laughed and told him he should go on FanBlast or google himself sometime. He of course laughed. He signed our program, took a picture with us (which came out blurry) and we proceeded to tell him how awesome he was. Then he had to move on. Again, a feeling of sadness comes over you because that is it. We proceeded to visit some other Idols, then before we left I wanted to see if Archie was still in the hall because I could not leave without a good picture with him. To our delight, we turned the corner and there he was, finishing with the last little group. I felt bad because I kind of felt like a stalker. Jeff was there too and I said “I’m sorry to bug you, but my picture was blurry, can we take another.” He said “Sure” We were thanking him again and at that moment he proceeded to prop himself against the wall and started reading a letter someone had given to him. He was in his own world. We stood watching him for a minute, his dad across on the other wall when his Dad said “David, there is someone waiting on you.” A couple had walked up to him and he didn’t notice them. He repsonded by saying “Oh, sorry” took a picture, then went right back to reading the letter. It was just so sweet. We said goodbye again and watched as he and his Dad walked down the hall.
Meeting David is such an incredible thing. We might have loved him in the beginning because of his voice, but it is the person that we have all connected to now. He simply glows! He is truly a young man that God blessed greatly. He is the essence of everything good in the world. He gives me hope that I can actually raise my son to be kind, humble, etc. This was an amazing thing to share with my daughter.
Monica’s story:
Okay, so we arrived at Allstate Arena at about 11:30-ish, and there were probably about 40-50-ish people, which was not bad. We see buses and we’re like, “OMG THEY’RE HERE!” We all get super excited and I’m super duper hyper. The security guy or whoever made us move back and set up barricades at about noon and said that they would tell us what would happen at 1:00. We were originally by the end of line, but behind a group of people, so we decided that it would be difficult to even interact with the Idols with so many people in front of us, so we decided to move towards the other end of the barricades, so that at least we were right by them and that they could sign/take pictures/ etc with us easier. 1:00 comes by, and nothing happens.
At about 1:45ish or so (sorry, I’m bad with remembering times), we see people running to the sidewalk behind us, and the actual tour buses come! (Note that the original buses we saw were just for equipment and felt like the previous pictures we took with the equipment buses were pointless at this point. xP) W e see some Idols get off the bus, but only through a little crack about 2 feet wide, because the equipment buses were in front of the performers’ buses. Haha, we were pretty far so we were just making assumptions of who people were, but most of them we could tell, except I think we kept mixing up Brooke and Kristy Lee because we were so far. So then I’m taping at this moment and Archie walks by and everyone FREAKS OUT, and everyone could SO TELL that it was him, because well duh, it’s David Archuleta… he’s so distinguishable.
So then it was 3:30ish? and all the idols that came out were pretty much done, and the security said that no one else would come out… LIAR! Like 15 minutes later, David Archuleta walks TOWARDS US… like RIGHT TOWARDS US (we were in the middle) and then he turns left and starts on the other end. It’s kinda sad/unfair because the people on the side he started on got there later than the other people that he didn’t get to talk to. Okay, once again, he is the nicest guy ever, which can be shown in the fact that he took FOREVER to get to us. Like, he was seriously conversing with everyone about everything and signing everything for everyone, which was good for them, and not so good for the rest of us. We were towards the middle, so it didn’t matter where any Idol began, but when he was about 10 feet or so away from us, the security (or his handlers?) were telling him that he had to go, so he was just signing and doing whatever as fast as he could. People by us were like, “Will he get to us?” and the handler people were like, “I think so…” so he finally gets to me (FI NALLY) and I ask him to sign this mini poster thing with my favorite pictures of him and he puts ‘David Arch’ and he moves on to my friend next to me and signs like 3 things for her! He didn’t even get to sign my shirt, but I was on a mission for something else… a HUG… and on tape! So I gave my video camera to my friend’s uncle to hold it while all this occurred. At this point, no one was getting pictures or hugs from him anymore, and I said in like, my shyest most sincere way [actually now that i think about it... it was kinda sorta really desperate sounding], ‘Can I have a hug?’ and he’s like, ‘Yeah, sure,’ so he PUTS HIS RIGHT ARM AROUND ME AND I PUT MY RIGHT ARM AROUND HIM (because our left ones were holding things) and omg, it was amazing. I squealed like a little fan girl and I was a bit upset afterwards, because I had my mind set on… ‘I will act like a normal human being in front of David Archuleta.’ Everyone around me started SCREAMING TOO and all this commotion started, which is why my video camera was crazy shaky, but thankfully, my friend’s mom got it on tape, so all is good. Then he hugged like 4 other people around me, but I was the first in a while so I felt special.
And omg, my first goal was a picture with him… Y’know, like for default pictures or whatever, but just my luck, my still camera DIED ON ME right when he was=2 0like 3 PEOPLE AWAY, so I was very upset. But I was determined to have something with him, which is why I got the hug! He was so rushed, that he couldn’t sign everything anymore, but I still wanted to sign his page in my tour binder, so I’m like, ‘Can you sign a D?’ or something like that, in the sense that if he was SO in a hurry, I’ll take what I can get. But he was like, ‘What…? A D?’ so he writes a D, haha. I bet he thought I was crazy, but it’s okay. So then after the hug, I was like, I don’t know… like, fake crying? I don’t know, I can’t explain it, it’s like… on the verge of crying from over emotion but without tears. And he looks at me and gives kind of a ‘wow’ look. Oh and my friend who got like 3 things from him wanted a picture with him, but he said he couldn’t anymore, but he was like, ‘You can take a picture of me signing!’ with a smile, and she’s like, “Okay, sure,” and hands him another thing to sign. LAME AND UNFAIR. But whatever, the hug was beyond amazing. So then maybe 10 people after us got a few stuff here and there, but he had to go, so he just kind of ran and high-fived whoever he could.
All in all, I got a tour binder signed by 8 idols, a shirt signed by 7, an extra Archie mini-poster collage thing signed, pictures WITH 6 idols, and a hug which will last eternally in my mind and heart forever from the greatest man alive, David Archuleta.
Alison’s story:
He was soooooooooooooooooooooooooo awesome! When he rose onto the stage with his piano I squealed like a baby pig!!!!! Lol it’s true! He sang Angels first and I was on the verge of tears! The fans were right; it is a lot better in person then on video! Then he sang Apologize and even though it’s not that sad of a song, I wanted to cry lol. Then he sung Stand By Me and I started screaming again and my heart started to beat as he danced his sexy dances lol. Then he sang WYSYLM and I absolutely loved it!! I LOVE HIM SO MUCH!
His vocals are so outstanding I can’t even begin to put it into words. He is soo incredibly talented and I am so in love with him! Wow it was incredibly awesome I still remember it perfectly.
So afterwards, my friend and I ran to the other side of the arena and we waited about an hour and a half for David to come out. Kristy, Brooke, Michel, Chikezie, Syesha and Jason came out to sign stuff and I got autographs from everyone besides Chikezie and Jason. So then I was really REALLY anticipating David to come out and when he did, I was the very first one to see him. I was the one who shouted, “OMG there’s David Archuleta!” Then after that there were a bunch of screaming girls (including me and Kelly!) We was intending on coming over to us, but his security guards pushed him over farther in line =(. He never ended up coming over to us to sign stuff. We kept chanting his name and he kept on wanting to come over to us but his security guard people kept him where he was which was a little depressing at first.
But wait, there’s more! He asked his security guards if he could run over to us and give us high fives and of course he did! I could swear he smiled at me!! (probably not but I was so excited I couldn’t even tell). So I touched David Archuleta people!!!!!!!!!!!! I may have not gotten an autograph directly frrom him or a picture, but I did touch him and I was so incredibly grateful for that! Okay well that was my night seeing my beloved David! I will never forget it!!!

Honestly. You are awesome. I can’t believe that you aren’t already mainstream. Seriously, keep it up. I hope to see you soon on the top ten.

By the way, I heard and saw it on the net that your said Christmas Tour was very successful and also your album “Christmas from the Heart” sold a lots of copies around the world!!! CONGRATULATIONS DAVID!!!
Your Christmas album is very inspiring, beautiful and amazing. The songs that completed the album was very good picks.
David, when I heard you sing those songs, I feel how you performed it from your heart and soul. You do it with a powerful vocals… Every single detail of the album is very beautiful and prepared.
My favorite songs in the album is the one you co-write, “Christmas Melodies”, “I’ll be home for Christmas” and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”.But All of your version of the songs was also my favorite but this three songs was sound beautiful in my ears every time i heard and listen to it. It makes me sing to those songs!!!
