HERE’S MY FIRST WRITTEN BLOG!

Current mood:excited
Hey guys,

We started working on the album this week, and have been looking through songs and seeing which ones we like. I’ve also been meeting with several songwriters and producers, and the whole thing has just been really exciting! I can’t wait to see how things turn out in the end. We’ve found a song that I really like already too.

Rehearsals have turned out well so far, and the band is a great group of people. I had a tour rehearsal today, and after that I ran all over the place for different meetings and some phone interviews. Tomorrow I’ll be meeting with the vocal coach they have for all of us. He has worked with a ton of different people. After that I think I’m going to meet with the stylist and work some outfits out for the tour. So that should be pretty fun haha.

So keepin’ pretty busy, but it’s so much fun! It’s only just begun too. I’ll try to keep you posted on what else is goin’ on soon!

Father’s Day Blog

Current mood:blessed
Hey Everyone!

I hope you guys had a great Father’s Day yesterday. For Father’s Day my dad, a friend of ours and I went to Soup Plantation for lunch haha. I actually really liked the food there. We also had enough time in the day to go to church before the schedule started and lunch so that was neat to be able to do.

Today we have some more rehearsals for tour, and then after that we’re having some more meetings on my own career lol. Well that’s all for now. I’ll try to keep you guys posted. Oh and by the way thanks everyone for wishing my dad a happy Father’s Day. I really appreciate that and I know he does as well. He’s been great so I’m glad you guys took time to send him your messages. Hope everyone else’s dads had a great time too!

JUNE 20 – BLOG ENTRY FROM DAVID

Current mood:cheerful

Today we did a bunch of press stuff for the tour. Carly and I were partners and it was pretty fun haha. She’s kinda like my mom of the group because she’s always making sure I’m doing what I’m supposed to. I also had a photoshoot today which was a lot of fun. I actually used to hate pictures and would like run from any camera until about last summer. Yeah I was pretty weird haha. But anyway I’ve gotten a lot better with cameras and don’t mind them, especially since they’re everywhere now. I can probably thank Fish for overcoming my fear of cameras, since she had one everywhere we hung out last summer and I started getting the hang of it.

Tomorrow I have some other music stuff for the album and then I’m going to the Wall-E movie premiere. I know I’m pretty immature, but Pixar movies are my favorite. They’re just really clever and I love being a kid lol. I can’t wait to see it. So tomorrow should be another fun day. That’s all for right now!

Current mood:excited
Hey guys!

Tomorrow’s our first show!! I have to admit I’m a little nervous, but I’m way excited at the same time. We’ve been having rehearsals each day just getting ready for the big day, and everyone sounds great. Last night after the rehearsal Kristy Lee, Chikezie, Cook, Jason and his family, Carly and I went go karting and it was sooo much fun lol. At first I was kinda like eh, I don’t know if I should go or not, I should get some rest and stuff. But Kristy Lee pushed me into going and now I want to go again.

Also on Sunday my cousin and his wife came up to visit, which was cool to see because they’ve both been in the military and busy. We were able to just hang out for a little bit and went to church. Anyway that’s all for now.

Can’t wait to see everyone tomorrow at the show!

June 26 – Blog Entry From David

Current mood:excited
Hey guys!

Sorry I haven’t been able to give an update lately. I’ve had computer issues haha. Going to Las Vegas was great! When I got there I was able to see The Wayne Brady Show and it was really good. I have a friend who’s a background singer for it and she invited us to go. I actually met her the week of the American idol Season 1 finale, and she’s the one who told me about the Star Search auditions. So she’s pretty neat haha. It was great to see everyone who turned out in Las Vegas too! If you were able to go to The View let me know how you liked the show.

Today we’re leaving on the bus and get many hours to bond together in close quarters lol. But it’ll be great! I’m nervous but excited to get things going. I’ve been in more meetings and sessions for the album too, so just been keeping busy.

July 2 – First Tour Show Blog!!

Current mood:excited
Hi Everybody,

So the first show was pretty much AMAZING! I couldn’t believe how much energy you could feel from the crowd. I have to admit I was a little nervous backstage haha, but wow! It was just so much fun to see everyone cheering and the support that came. The people in Arizona were just a neat group and so welcoming. If you guys are going then I can’t wait for you to see the show! It’s definitely an awesome experience. I’m looking forward to improving as we get more comfortable with each show too lol. Hopefully our voices will all hold up well throughout the tour.

Tonight we go to San Diego where I first auditioned for AI, so if you’re going I hope you have a great time!

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July everyone! I hope you guys had a good time for the
holiday. I just finished watching some fireworks from my hotel room
here in las vegas haha. We had the day off today which was pretty
nice. I ate lunch with Jason and then I met with a relative who lives
down here and spent some time looking around, got some shorts haha. I
must have lost the ones I packed or something but’s it good now. Then
we had dinner at the Paris hotel which was really good. And after that
is when I watched the fireworks. Tomorrow we’ll be doing our show here
in las vegas! The tour’s been great so far and the crowds have been
crazy! It’s pretty cool. Anyway, have a good night everyone!
LA to San Jose!

Hey all. Today we’re in San Jose, and it’s my first time here. I love it out here! it’s a really unique area. I went out to eat an early lunch with Brooke and Kristy, and it was really good. It was some pizza place by our hotel haha. We had our LA show last night! I’m so relieved to have that finished lol. I have to admit I was a little nervous about that one, but it was great once I got on stage and felt the energy of the crowd. I hate not having enough time to say hi and get to everyone waiting outside after the show. There were a bunch of people I still didn’t get to last night because there were so many people at the LA show, so if you were there and I wasn’t able to come up I want to let you all know I’m sorry! I try really hard to get through as quick as I can so I can see everyone, but it’s really hard with the short amount of time haha. But it’s really neat to see everyone. That’s what’s been a really great thing about the tour, we’ve been able to talk to fans a TON more and get to know everyone . Anyway I have to go outside and talk to everyone waiting outside now! So if you’re there right now I’ll see you there! Even though you won’t read this until later but whatever haha. Yesterdays updates

Hey everyone. We’re about to leave Portland and head to Seattle/Tacoma area today. It’s been a lot of fun here. We had a day off here, so Jason and I just wandered around downtown haha. We went to the mall, the farmer’s market, that huge Powell’s bookstore, and took the streetcars to 23rd street to eat. Portland’s a great city, and it’s been nice weather too haha. I’m excited to see what other cities are like, even though we won’t have too much time to do things.

So I’m going to try and figure out how to do another video blog on this computer. I’ve had issues haha, but I’m determined to make another one. So hopefully that’ll be coming very soon. But I feel lame only blogging by typing haha. Anyway, the song I’ve been really into lately is the live version of Free Fallin’ that John Mayer does. If you haven’t listened to it yet you should check it out. It’s awesome. I’m also really excited that we’re going to Utah soon! I can’t wait for that haha. Well I have to head out to the bus, so talk to you guys later.
Issues Making a Video Blog

Hey everyone. I tried to put up a video blog from last night while I was in the dressing room at the E center in Utah, but with my luck I can’t get it uploaded. I’m going to try and put it up later anyway because it was an exciting moment, but sorry everyone for not being able to get that up. The shows were great though! I was so happy to be home and see everyone there, and how much support the crowd gave to everyone.

I’m in LA for the time we have off right now and have had a couple of meetings involving the album, which were fun. Our next show is in St. Louis, and I’m pretty sure I’ve never been there so it should be fun to see the big arch there haha. Anyway I’ll try to get that blog up, even though it’s not fancy or anything haha, so you guys can at least see it soon.

Oh one more thing. On So You Think You Can Dance a couple named katie and will danced to my performance Imagine. I thought that was way cool! Haha. They did awesome. I feel… Like honored lol. Ok sorry i’m out of it right now so have a good night everyone.
Greetings from INDIANAPOLIS

Hey all! We’re here at the Indianapolis venue and I just finished signing stuff for everyone who’s outside before the show. They were really laid back and organized so it was really nice to sign stuff for them and not hectic haha. Actually the last few cities we’ve gone to have been like that, so thanks guys for keeping things nice and smooth for us to get to everyone outside! Well at least before the show because I never get to everyone after the show, it’s always CRAZY after the show haha. Anyway yesterday we had a big marquis/net jet meet and greet signing yesterday in Columbus Ohio. I’ve never signed so many pictures in my life haha. We all shortened our names to like 3 letters at certain points because they were just coming so fast. When we got to Indianapolis Brooke, Carly, Kristy, Jason and I had dinner. I got a salad which was really good haha. Then Carly, Kristy, Jason, Michael Johns, Chikezie, some other people from tour and I went to see The Dark Knight. So that Batman movie was pretty much AMAZING. I can’t believe how good it was and so well done. It’s a movie I would go see again, which is weird for me because I rarely see movies again, but that’s one heck of a movie. I can’t get over how good it was. Oh and there was a big thunderstorm too, so Kristy and Jason ran through the rain back while the rest of us went through the mall here that is like connected to the hotel. But it was a blast. So I’ll try to get another video blog up sometime, but I’m not too fond of them since it took me forever to figure out how to do it last time haha. They also don’t load up until like a day late so it’s not really up to date when it comes out. But I still like doing them haha. Anyway I’ll let you guys know what else is up again. Hasta luego.
MY DEBUT SINGLE “CRUSH” PREMIERED ON Z100!

Hey everyone!! So you might know that “Crush” premiered for the first time on Z100 yesterday! I was SOOOO excited/nervous/anxious for everyone to hear it, and I just can’t believe that it was on the radio! It was such an unbelievable moment, and it was like… watching a dream pop out of my mind into reality lol. It’s just shocking when I step back and just realize what’s really happening, and the possibilities that could be coming. It was so good to hear the comments from the few phone calls that came in right after the song played too, and to know that it wasn’t just the teens who were able to relate to it haha. I’ve been looking at comments and listening to some of the messages people leave and I just wanna thank everyone A TON for leaving your comments and knowing that you like the song. It means so incredibly much to me I don’t think you have any idea. Thank you thank you thank you thank you! lol. I was nervous about how it might be a song that would only relate to everyone around my age, but I realized EVERYONE has crushes or have had them. haha. But ah! I’m so excited to know you guys like it .

I’m just here on the bus on our way to the Atlantic City show in New Jersey. So that’s what we have for today. Then tomorrow Cook and I are headed to the Teen Choice Awards and will be presenting an award. It’ll be pretty crazy doing all the travelling and getting up early and getting back late, but it’ll also be a lot of fun! haha. Anyway that’s it for now. Thanks so much everyone again for everything!
Thank you to the fans!

Heeey everyone! Just wanted to say thanks to all of you for voting on Teen Choice Awards for both Cook and me! It was a lot of fun even though we were both pretty tired haha, but that’s my first award for an award show! And it’s all thanks to you guys! So now I guess I’m getting my first surfboard huh? lol crazy. Anyway I just wanted to thank you guys for an exciting time at the TCA’s! You guys have been awesome fans, and you definitely showed it to everyone else that night! After traveling back and forth, coast to coast with a delayed flight haha, we’re back in New York and have another show in Long Island tonight. That’s all for now though. Talk to you guys later.
Welcome to Worcester …

Heeeey everybody. I’m here in Worcester, Massachusetts. We’re still having fun on tour, and Kristy and I went to a 24 hour diner last night haha. It was pretty cool. Today when we went outside to sign there were a bunch of irish dancer kids. I know that’s random haha but anyway, it was a very very giving crowd! I don’t think there’s been a crowd that asked for so many hugs before. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten so many gift bags before either. It was pretty cool considering people usually say Massachusetts is a pretty tough place haha. Also, most of the letters I got were just really short and sweet, which was EXTREMELY helpful when reading through. I really appreciate letters and everyone’s been really great sharing really cool stories, but it’s really difficult when there are so many letters lol. I usually can’t get through all of them when they’re really long unless I skim through, but today has been really easy to get through everything. I’m also not really sure what to do with all the bags since one side of my bunk is FILLED with stuff, and then I squeeze into the other side, even though I kinda like the little fort kind of feel it has. A fort made of gift bags haha. I usually try to compact everything and stuff things into less bags, but lately it’s been getting just a little tough since I’m finding less and less room for me to move in the bunk. But I also have to say I’ve been getting some pretty cool gifts! I’ve been getting a lot of really cool graphic, state, city, and target shirts lol. Then I’ve been getting a lot of nutter butters, bracelets, scrapbooks, and stuffed toys. So I just wanna thank you guys so much for being really thoughtful in each city! It’s been great to see you guys out there and with the crazy signs and shirts people make too! haha. But if you guys could just keep things a but more simple in letters and and stuff it’d help me get through everyone’s and try to keep as many gifts as I can fit in my bags haha. I think I’ve reached the limits in my suitcases though. But I do try to look through everything! so thanks and hopefully I’ll be able to still have enough time and not be overwhelmed by so much haha. Wow this is pretty long, sorry for ramblin’ on in this, but that’s all for now!
Hello from North Carolina

Hi all. Today we’re in North Carolina, and I’m about to go outside
since we have free time right now. So just wants to give an update on
done stuff. Friday we had a day off, so I went to New York for a
photoshoot for the album! It was a lot of fun even though I was dead
tired from the lack of sleep haha. But I’m caught up on that now. The
photographer was great! He also had really good taste in music, which
he played during the shoot. I can’t wait to see the final shots.
This upcoming week my family will be coming out to see the show, and
it’ll be awesome to see them. We’ll also be shooting the music video
for ‘Crush’! Which I’m nervous but excited about haha. Anyway I better
get outside to say hey to who’s out there. That’s all for now!
2:01 PM

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

Update from Dallas

Hi guys. I’m here in Dallas, Jason’s lovely hometown haha, and just wanted to mention how amazing the olympics were! I watched a lot of the track and field stuff, swimming, diving, gymnastics, and whatever else I could get a glimpse of while we’re out doing’ our thing. I wish I could have watched more! But it was amazing to see stuff like michael phelps. That’s just crazy! I was only able to watch a small bit of the closing ceremony since our Houston show was going at the same time, but from what I saw it was really cool. So just wanted to ramble a bit on that haha.

On a side note I just wanna thank everyone sooooo much for your support with Crush! I was shocked to see it number 1 on iTunes and then I about died when I saw it number 2 on the hot 100 lol. Someone told me during the Sunrise, Florida aftershow about the billboard debut but I thought they were mistaken and didn’t believe them. But wow! I’m just ecstatic to know that you guys like the song and thanks so much for helping make Crush do what I thought was the unthinkable!

I’m still working on the album and we’re all trying really hard to do our best. Well we’re at the venue now so talk to you guys later!
11:50 AM
UPDATES FROM THE MIDWEST & A HEARTFELT MENTION FOR THE SOUTH

Hey everyone. I’m here in Minnesota for our day off and am on my way to the airport for Wisconsin. I’ve been recording today, which is what I do on my days off lately haha. But I love it! It’s so much fun. Some recent things that have happened were our Minnesota show, and 2 Kansas City shows. All the crowds were amazing! And it was really special to be in Cook’s hometown.

Another thing that happened this week is that I got the rough cut of the ‘Crush’ video! It was so crazy to see a professional video done for me, and I can’t wait for you guys to see it. It was cool watching how a video comes together right from the beginning of the video treatment and hearing the idea of the director, to seeing it come to life with the cameras, cast, and music haha. It’s still hard having to watch yourself, but you have to make sure everything looks good for everyone to see haha. I’m getting a little better with that though.

On a more serious matter, I just want to make sure we remember everyone in the South who are dealing with the storms down there. My family in Florida have struggled quite a bit with hurricane experiences and it’s always a scary thing. So just remember to keep them in your prayers and hope the best for them.

Well we’re here at the airport now so I better get going. Talk to you guys later!
Final AI Show

Hey everyone!! I’m here in Tulsa for the last day of the tour and it’s pretty sad but exciting at the same time. I don’t think we’ve ever seen so many gifts in the dressing rooms before, and I hope there’s enough time to look through everything today haha. But wow! I can’t believe it’s the last day! It’s actually hard to believe, and I don’t think it’s really hit all of us that it’s the end of the whole American Idol experience together. It’s been an AMAZING year. I can’t wait to see the different directions everyone’s careers go now, and I’ve become a big fan of all the other guys. It’s just such an honor to be with the 9 of them along with the awesome band, and I’ve learned soooo much. It’s also been so cool to see all the fans at different cities! And I’ll miss seeing all the different shirts and signs for everyone haha. Especially the crazy stuff that the Dreadheads come up with. Oh my gosh they make some of the funniest, most unique things lol. But it’s been great to talk to fans and see familiar faces in different cities. I can’t thank you guys enough for making some of the best memories on the tour. There’ve been so many crazy stories I’ve heard on how people worked so hard to get to a city to watch a show, cool letters that also tell amazing stories, and I’ve also made a lot of friends haha. So thanks everyone for making the tour one of the greatest times in my life!

Other than the end of the tour, I’ve still been working on the album some more and had some more things to do on my day off yesterday haha. I got to meet with some pretty cool people and try to write songs. Writing is just so much fun, and there are so many different ways of doing it. I also got surprised this morning (after some more recording haha) by my grandma who came for our final show thanks to some amazing people who made it possible for her to come. Thank you guys so much for allowing her to be here and treat her so well, she’s been having such an awesome time. My mom was also finally able to come up and be my guardian for the last few shows! It’s been so great to spend some one on one time with her and have her see what it’s like on the road. But anyway I better get going since this has turned out to be pretty long haha. For those going tonight hope you have/had an awesome time at the show! Adios.

P.S. Make sure to remember everyone down South again with the really bad storms down there. They’re going through a lot right now and I’m sure they’d appreciate your concerns… Thanks!
Quick hello from the dressing room

Hey guys! It’s me yet again. I got a chance to go back to utah for a few days to record and had such a great time being home! The whole family was finally able to all hang out and spend time together, and went out to eat haha. I didn’t really have time to hang out with anyone else since we did a lot of music with some cool people based in Utah, but I’m glad there was time for family. Family’s first so that was important to get in haha. Anyway I’m in Detroit right in the dressing room for a Ford executive event that Cook and I are performing at, and it should be fun. I need to get going now but just wanted to check in while I had a chance. Take care
Outside of the studio

Hey everyone,

I’m just checking in from the studio but if you’re wondering if I’ve been able to do anything else this last week besides working on the album, I was able to go to the Journey with Heart and Cheap Trick concert last night!! Woo Hoo! haha. The sad thing was I missed Cheap Trick and part of Heart because I was recording , but at least I was doing something productive and important haha. So I’m bummed I couldn’t see the first part of the show, but Heart was amazing as always. Journey was incredible too!! I was able to go backstage and meet them during the intermission after Heart’s set, and I have to admit I was nervous because I felt like I was just bugging them and invading their space haha. But they were waaay nice. They have the new singer Arnel Pineda, and I can’t believe how amazing he can sing. He’s Filipino, and blew me out of the water! Another sad part is I didn’t bring my camera since I was thinking about recording before haha, but I tried getting pictures of them performing on my iPhone. I’m a terrible photographer but oh well. I actually have some really random pictures on my iphone from tour, but I think it’d be fun to post them anyway just so you can see what I tried to take pictures of wandering around haha. But I’ll think about it, since they’re not exciting.

I definitley wanted to take a minute to thank everyone again for your support. I can’t believe how well “Crush” is doing and I’m so happy that you all like it. Everyone has been so supportive, from the reaction to the song and video to the comments and voicemail messages I’m getting. I’m working really hard on this album and hope everyone loves it!

Well that’s it for now. I’ll try to post another blog soon.

David

Oh! P.S. haha. I just wanted to let you know about this girl on Youtube I was shown named Savannah. She sang a version of Crush that was cool and different. I seriously felt honored that she would sing it lol, and she’s only 15. So you should check it out!

My album is almost done!

Hey guys! We’re getting close to making final decisions on which songs are going to go on the album, and it’s pretty exciting! The last few days have mainly been recording still, and just finalizing the songs to see which ones will be the best fit. If you’ve been reading the alloy.com blogs I’ve been doing, then you probably already know about what happened this weekend with my brother and sisters visiting to come to Miley Cyrus’s sweet 16. It was a lot of fun, and it was cool being able to spend some time with them. It was just unbelievable how big of a birthday party it was! I’ve never seen anything like that haha. I put some pictures up on the alloy blog, but I have some more to show to you guys too. So last night I helped out Brooke and her Husband, Dave, with rearranging their stuff in the bedroom haha. I don’t think I was a whole lot of help, but it was still fun. We listened to music, talked, and… moved stuff around lol. Brooke’s been in Arizona for the past week or so, so it’s nice to have her back! But she’s actually going to try and give me a haircut here before I leave to do some more recording. Brooke’s awesome haha. We only have a little bit of time for that though so I better get going and I’ll talk to you guys later!

P.S. A song I’ve really liked lately is Little Things by Colbie Caillat. So if you’re looking for a song to listen to and you haven’t heard it before, you should check it out.
Band Auditions & a trip to the dentist!

Hey guys! Hope things are going well with everyone. This week has been really nice since I’ve been able to spend a lot of time with family! As you might already know, I sang at the 7th inning of the Rays vs. Red Sox game in Tampa where my brother was able to come down for. After that, we had band auditions! So the band is in process right now, and I’m stoked for that. Then, I did the last of the recording earlier this week for the album so I’m done with recording! I’ve been home for the past few days and it’s been great! Since we held some auditions and did the last of the recording here, I’ve been able to see them along with some friends. So I’ve really enjoyed my time here. I also went to the dentist…. haha. It was ok though because I’m cavity free! So it’s been a nice relaxing week, and been so nice to spend time with everyone! Unfortunately I’m already leaving, but I’m sure I’ll be able to spend more time with them later on. It’s just exciting for the album to be finished after recording all these months. I better get going though! So I’ll talk to you guys later and let you know what’s going on!

Song for the day: Too Much Food – Jason Mraz. So I’ve been eating sooo much this week haha. I thought this song was really appropriate since I’ve been listening to it a lot lately, and eating a lot lately haha.
Radip Promotions … on the road

Hey everyone! Just wanted to let you know a little more on what’s going on lately. Today I’m in Pittsburgh for the radio promo tour, and I just have a few interviews to do while I’m here. It started Monday in San Diego. I love San Diego, but I was bummed when I heard Tokio Hotel was going to be at the station I was at that same day! I had to leave for Seattle before they got there, which was too bad lol. They’re really different but I like that about them. So then to Seattle, and after that Milwaukee (where Mietra was born lol.) Oh and by the way she’s NOT my girlfriend! I know a lot of people still think that, but…. that’s pretty much like marrying your cousin. She’s really cool and fun to hang out with since she gets along with a lot of people, but we don’t dig each other like that haha. But I got to hang out with her, Fish (the one who started calling me lettuce boy), and a bunch of other people while I had a couple of days off in Utah last week. We all had a blast. But anyway I’m getting off topic here… After Milwaukee was Chicago, and now I’m here in Pittsburgh. It’s been really great so far, and I’ve seen a lot of you guys from the American Idol tour! Even though I don’t have a whole lot of time to talk to you guys it’s still really great to see everyone.

So before the radio promotion stuff started, I had a photo shoot for some teen magazines on Friday haha, and it was a lot of fun. Then, I went to Michael Johns’ birthday party and saw a lot of friends from the tour and show. I also got to hang out with Jason and Brooke over the weekend too. With Jason, we had some Mexican food and watched Eagle Eye haha. It was a pretty good movie, and it was fun to spend some time with Jason again since I haven’t really spent time with him for a while. With Brooke, she invited me to go to a store with her and we just messed around like dorks haha. We actually took pictures of looking at the clothes and trying stuff on lol. So I guess I’ll load some up! But yeah, we had a good time. I guess that’s all really for now. We’ll be going to Ohio next and that should be pretty cool too. So for those of you who’ll be at the Ohio events, I’ll see you there!

P.S. The song I’d like to share today is Monsoon by Tokio Hotel. I guess in honor of missing them by a few hours in San Diego haha. It’s a really cool and different song, plus they’re only like a year older than me. It’s always cool when there are people around your age doing music.
11:50 PM

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

Promo Wrap Up and Family Reunion

Hey alllll. Just wanted to let you know that I’m finished with the radio promotion stuff and it was soooo much fun. We went to San Diego, Seattle, Milwaukee, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Columbus, Atlanta, Albany, New Haven, Hartford, Worcester, Boston, and Providence. It was cool revisiting some of the cities we went to during tour, and getting a better feel of different places. Oh and the Autumn colors in the East were amazing! I tried taking pictures but they’re all horrible haha. It looks a lot better in person anyway.

So what I wanted to share today was my time in Atlanta, because I have relatives in the lovely area. What’s great is that I had some time off during the promotion tour, and it just so happened to be in Atlanta! So as soon as I got there I called them up. My cousin was at work at a shoe store haha, so I wanted to go surprise her while she was working. My aunt, uncle, and other cousin came to pick me to head down there, and it was fun to see them again. They all came to the video shoot for “Crush” since it was filmed in Georgia, and that was when we last had a little reunion. But anyway, It was fun to see my cousin’s reaction when we came in because she wasn’t expecting us haha. So we took pictures with all the shoes and with the people she worked with, and then went out to hang out. We went to this cool place to eat called the ESPN Zone, and they had this HUGE screen to watch sports on. They also had an arcade above the eating area, and we messed around a little up there.
Another person I got to see while I was down there was Alexandrea Lushington! I haven’t seen her since… February? And it was great to see her and her family again. She got to meet my relatives and we all had a really good time. (I have some pictures too so check out my photos.)

Oh I wanted to mention another thing. Since I’m back in California, we’ve started band rehearsals! The band is awwesooomme and are really cool guys. So while I’m here that’s what I’ll be doing. I wasn’t sure what to expect at first, but now I’m really pumped haha. But anyway I better get going here and I’ll talk to you guys later!

P.S. While I was in Hartford, I made a quick appearance at the Boo Bash there which Jordin was at too! It was so good to see her again and we had a fun time just hanging out backstage. So I wanted to share one of my favorite songs on her album for today. So the song for today is Permanent Monday – Jordin Sparks. If you haven’t heard it yet, she puts soo much feeling when she sings. You can really feel it in this song, and it allows a lot of emotion into it.

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

PERFORMANCE ON JAY LENO TONIGHT!

Heey Everybody. This week has been the week of band rehearsals, and it’s been awesome! Everyone in the band has been way cool so far, and I’ve had a lot of fun rehearsing my own songs! We have performances coming up pretty quick here, with Jay Leno tonight already. I’ve been really enjoying it so far, and am looking forward for what’s coming up! It’s also getting pretty close to the album release too, which I’m so pumped for. I can’t wait to see what you guys think of it, since I’ve been spending so much time on it heh. Anyway, I have things to share with what else has been going on besides the band and rehearsing. Before things begin to get really hectic and busy, I was able to have some free time and go to Six Flags Magic Mountain! I love that place. It’s like roller coaster heaven. I love X2, Tatsu, Goliath, and Riddler’s Revenge. All the roller coasters are pretty good there, actually. I just don’t like when your head bangs side to side on the twisty ones, it gives me a headache.
Another thing I got to do was go to the Jason Mraz concert at the Greek Theater! We were in the 4th row center and I had such a good time! Castro came along too, and it’s always good to hang with him. It’s great the way Mraz communicates with the crowd. He’s really witty and makes it feel a lot more up-close and personal conversation he’s having, despite the fact that there are thousands of people there. I loved when he did Only Human, The Remedy, Life Is Beautiful, No Stopping Us, and I’m Yours (of course.. ha…) Honestly I loved all of them. Maybe I’m a little biased…. but I’m pretty sure all of the songs were just amazing. He did Oh Happy Day too! And that was sooo cool. K, I’m done with that now. We got the chance to talk to him for a little bit, even though he was getting MOBBED. It was really neat to see how friendly and laid back he was in person. You never know how people are going to be when you meet them, since they’re usually getting dragged all over the place and under a lot of stress. He kept his cool the entire time though, and I’m sure he’s been doing this for a while now. I had tickets for when he came to Utah on October 28th, but I had to do promotion stuff and couldn’t go . So I’m really glad I was able to go last Saturday! All rightyyyy… That’s enough of talking about that. If you haven’t gotten his new CD yet… you should really check it out
The last thing I’d like to talk about is something I did at the Universal City Walk. It’s this thing called iFly, and oh my heck! It’s roocks! You get to fly in a tube! I have a couple of pictures that I’ll put up. I was a little nervous at first, but it’s not even scary when you get in there. I kinda slobbered over myself, but that’s ok because it was totally worth it. I can’t really explain how it was because it was… just a really different experience. I guess it was kinda being like a bird or something… you just don’t move around a whole lot and you’re inside a tube. I guess I got a DVD of it… but I’m pretty sure I’m not going to show that haha. Anyway I’ve written quite a bit in this one, so I’ll try to get back later. 5 Days until the CD comes out!

P.S. I know I talked a ton about Jason Mraz, but I think that only makes it even more appropriate to share one of his songs today. So the song for today is A Beautiful Mess – Jason Mraz. It’s amaaazing when he does it live too!
I’m a concert – goer!

Hey guys! The last week has been a pretty crazy one! I did a bunch of appearances on some shows, and I’ll be on the Bonnie Hunt Show Tuesday haha. I hope everyone’s liking the album! And thanks for sending in your opinions on what songs you like the most! I love hearing about what you guys think, and really appreciate the great comments you’ve all been making.
I just wanted to tell you really quick about my weekend. On Friday night I was supposed to go home, but we missed our flight. So instead… we went to the Alanis Morissette concert, which was amazing! I forgot how much I loved Alanis and how big of a fan I am. There was a point in time where I was addicted to quite a few of her songs, and I still love her. She is great live, and she gets into it in a really unique way. If you haven’t heard her before you should listen to Uninvited. It’s one of my favorite songs. Another interesting fact about Uninvited that I learned is that the producer who produced the song, Rob Cavallo, produced David Cook’s album. Cool, huh? Another good song of hers is Thank You.
On Saturday, we were able to go back home for a day. I got to spend time with the family again, and what’s cool is there just so happened to be an awesome concert that I didn’t know about going on that day. It was Lady Gaga, Natasha Bedingfield, and New Kids on the Block. I didn’t get to see a whole lot of Lady Gaga since I thought the concert started at 8, but that’s when Natasha’s set started haha. But I finally got to see Natasha perform live!! Of course I was loving it lol. She did amazing, and I was really happy that I got to see her in concert in Utah. I never thought I’d get the chance to, especially at the beginning when she wasn’t really known in the US yet. I really admire the way she’s gone with her music and career, and how sweet of a person she is! She is just down to earth and stays true to herself — whether it’s in person, in her music, or on stage. New Kids on the Block were also amazing too! I couldn’t believe how great of a concert they could still put on, and for a comeback tour. It was full of energy the whole way through! My family went too, so it was great to be able to all spend time together at a concert. A couple of my friends were also able to go, and they said it was the best concert they’ve been to. I can’t believe how many concerts I’ve been able to go to lately! I seriously have gone to more in the last little while than in my life. You learn so much by watching the way people put on a show, and how they perform live. I’ve been having such a great time. I was never really into concerts before, but I guess now that I’m older I appreciate it a lot more. Just being able to watch experienced people live is one of the greatest things ever. Especially seeing artists who have inspired me so much. Jason Mraz, Alanis Morissette, and Natasha Bedingfield have all been major influences for me, and being able to see all of them in concert is just incredible. So I’m definitely a concert-goer now haha. Seriously everyone, if you haven’t been to a concert yet you should! Especially if you’re a singer, you learn A TON from watching the way someone performs. And everyone does it their own way too. Ah, I just love it! But I’ve rambled a lot more than I wanted to haha. I should probably get going. We’re back in LA, and I got to see Brooke and Ramiele! It’s always good to spend time with those guys. Well I’m gonna run, but before I go I just want to remind everyone that Cook’s album is coming out tomorrow! So don’t forget to show your support, and be prepared to listen to some awesome stuff! haha. Ciao.

Thank You

I just want you all to know how much I appreciate your unselfish, usually anonymous time and dedication to show your support for me and just want to say, Thank you sooo much. It means a lot to me, I feel like I can’t thank you enough for it.
Concerts, AMAs, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and more!

Hey everyone! I just wanted to thank all you guys for helping the album debut at number 2! That is so incredible and I just appreciate all the support you guys have shown for that! It’s really neat to know that you’re all still doing the things you do . But really thanks so much! Having an album out there can actually be kinda scary when you put something out there and expose all your work to the open haha. But I’m really glad to have this experience and learn so much from it.
I also just wanted to let you guys know really quick that I had enough time this week to work on my scouting! I tried to do as much as I could earlier this week while I had some time off since I was home for a few days. And then.. I had my eagle project yesterday! I got a bunch of friends together to help me plant some small trees and shrubs at a park, and we planted 180 plants. I’m so excited about this guys! I didn’t think I’d ever have the time this year to work on my scouting, but we pushed for it. Completing this is a really big thing for me, especially since I was wondering if I’d even be able to get it haha. But I’ll let you know when I get everything wrapped up with that.
Some other things coming up, I’ll be presenting at the American Music Awards this weekend, and then there will be the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thanksgiving. I’m way excited about both of those things! I think there’s going to be a photo shoot coming up too. Oh! And one more thing. A Little Too Not Over You has been selected to be the next single now! That’s CRAZY! I can’t believe a song I helped…. create lol…. is going to be released! There are just a lot of things I’ve been really excited about lately.
One last thing. I had a chance to go to another concert this week. And that was the Carrie Underwood concert! It was great! And it’s so cool to see someone like her be so successful. I can’t believe the way she’s able to sing every night, she has some mad skills. What a great role model for people too. She’s someone that everyone can look up to, and is proof you can be a humble small town girl and do well in this business. Little Big Town opened up for her, and they are also great. They have such amazing harmonies, and were uber nice too. But I’m talking more than I wanted. So I better get going here. Talk to you guys later!

P.S. David Cook’s album rocks and is in stores!!

Song for the day: So I decided to have a few for today since it’s a special week. So here they are haha.

The following are all by David Cook:

Happy Thanksgiving

Hey Guys! Just wanted to say that I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!! We were in New York this week, and I had a blast! Yesterday was the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and that was really exciting. I was on the Green Dog float, and there were tons and tons and tons of people on the sides. It was pretty chilly too, but I heard that it was a really nice day compared to previous years haha. I bundled and layered up as much as I could though. I sang Crush near the end, and a couple of songs played during our time going down the streets. And there’s a mouse in here. Sorry I know that was random, but I can hear it wandering around and it keeps squeaking. I didn’t think there would be mice here but I guess there are… But anyway. Some kids from the PBS show Fetch were on my float too, and they were really nice kids. I also got to meet a bunch of other people who were in the parade, and it was really great getting to meet and talk with them. Miranda Cosgrove from iCarly was there too, and it was really cool to see and talk to her again. The sad thing is that I didn’t have my camera or phone with me, so I didn’t get to take my own pictures. Someone that worked there was nice enough to let me borrow their camera though before the parade started and I took pictures on my float, and on the Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends float! I know I’m such a dork but that’s my favorite cartoon lol. I was so excited to see it because it wasn’t too far behind me. But they were going to send me the pictures sometime soon.
The night before Thanksgiving, my mom and I went to see the musical In The Heights, and it was pretty much PHENOMENAL. It is seriously like one of my favorite musicals now. It was great that my mom was able to come to this particular musical too because it’s full of Latin music. So we had a great time with that, and also got to meet some of the cast members from it. I definitely recommend it if you ever get the chance to see it! The cast from the musical was also in the parade and did a number. Oh, the night before we saw the musical, my mom and I watched Twilight. I never read the books but a bunch of my friends are really into it, and the movie’s been getting a bunch of hype so we decided to go see it. I actually really liked it. The weird thing is when we walked into the theater Crush was playing so we walked back out because it was so weird haha. But anyway my blogs always get insanely longer than I intend for them to be, so I’ll end for today. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

P.S. It was really fun to see all the signs you guys made during the parade! haha

Jingle Ball Updates

Hi everyone. I just wanted to let everyone know about how the first radio show went! The first Jingle Ball was in Sacramento, and it was AMAAZZIINNGGG!!! I couldn’t believe how exciting it was! The other acts that were there were Jesse McCartney, Katy Perry, Boys Like Girls, and Shontelle. It was neat to have Shontelle there because I became friends with her at the Macy’s Parade haha. Go familiar faces! But I seriously had the time of my life. I was so nervous before the show, wondering what I was going to say on stage and how I was going to perform. It kind of just came out though, and the energy of the band and crowd was just such a great feeling. It was cool to see all the signs you guys made too! It made me feel more comfortable to see some of you guys out there cheering on, so thanks everyone for coming out! Hopefully you guys will get to go to a show if haven’t gone yet. If any of you are going to come to upcoming shows let me know.
Another really exciting thing that happened this week was filming the music video for A Little Too Not Over You. This video was so much fun! It took a lot longer, but I really had a great time. The director was really creative and fun to work with, and the people who were in the video were hilarious! They’re working on editing it and getting everything together now, but I can’t wait to see the finished product.
Other thing that happened this week: I lost my phone 2 days ago lol. That wasn’t nearly as fun and exciting as the other things, but oh well I guess. I’m pretty sure I left it on the plane, but they wouldn’t let me back on the airplane because the next destination it was going was an international flight to Vancouver. I guess you can’t go on the plane if it’s international because of security reasons or something. I couldn’t do anything about it either because we had to catch another flight going to Orlando, so I went to Orlando as my phone went to Vancouver. I’m actually kinda envious that my phone got to go to Vancouver before I did. I wish I went too lol. But I was really happy about going to Florida. I had a few things to do there like record a bunch of lines, and I got to go to Disneyworld! That totally cheered up my mood. We went to all of the parks and I was a happy camper. My aunt, uncle, and cousins who live in that area also came to visit, and I was really glad that I was able to hang out with them. Gotta love family. The sad thing is that I usually take pictures using my phone, so I didn’t have a camera until I went on the safari in Animal Kingdom. My camera died right after that anyway. I’ll try to put some pictures up though. We had the coolest tour guide helping us out too. He was really friendly and helpful. Oh David Cook was there too by the way. We ran into each other in front of Pirates of the Caribbean haha. It’s always fun bumping into him. Sorry I’m saying all of these events totally out of order but I can’t remember the exact… like… timeline haha. But anyway, I could go on forever about Disneyworld in a disorganized manner but then this would be 3 times longer and make even less sense than it already does.
I’ll just mention one more thing before I go, I performed at the Hollywood and Highland Christmas Tree Lighting in California the other night. After that I dropped by the KIIS FM Jingle Ball. So for those of you who went, I hope you had fun!

P.S. Congrats to Jason Mraz, John Mayer, and Sara Bareilles for their Grammy Nominations!
Others that were nominated that I’m excited for: Adele, Jennifer Hudson, Coldplay, well a lot haha.

Song for the day: Extraordinary Machine – Fiona Apple
Jingle Ball Updates … Philly Tonight!!!

Holaaaa. It’s me again with another blog. This week has been way busy with Radio Station shows. It’s actually kinda hard to keep track of all that happened. Sunday we had a show for an awesome crowd in Houston for the station KRBE, and then on Monday we went to Toronto, Canada! It was great going back to Toronto, and we ate at a Southern Italian restaurant there. I’ve never had *Southern* Italian food, but it was delicious. I then did a performance Tuesday for CHUM FM of Crush where I accompanied myself on piano. It was actually the first time I had ever done that for an audience haha, so it was exciting. And thanks everyone for coming to the shows! It’s so great to see the signs and familiar faces. I wasn’t sure how the performance in Canada would go, but it was just awesome to see the turn out. That same day we went to Buffalo for a performance for their station’s Kissmas Bash, and oh my heck there were so many people! The crowd was sold out of over like 15,000 people and they were insane!! It was so much fun haha. The day after that we went to Albany for the Fly 92.5 Radio show, and this one was really different from the rest. For their show they had a more intimate setting in a club, and it was just Ten Year Vamp, Gavin Degraw, and me. It was the first time I had done anything like it before and wow! It was just awesome! My ears were ringing after we were done, and it was sooo hot I was drenched in sweat lol. But it was just fun. I loved having the audience so close. And let me just say really quick that Gavin Degraw is wicked cool. I met him first at the Houston show, and then we had this one together. I love his style of music and singing and he’s a great guy. Next stop was Kiss 108 Boston, and Natasha Bedingfield performed at this one! It was awesome (as always) to see her again, and I just thought it was really cool to be able to perform at the same show as her.
So along comes Friday… dun dun dun.. haha… For the big Z100 Jingle Ball at Madison Square Garden. This was a really intense one, and I was pretty dang jittery throughout the day. Z100 Jingle Ball is a big big deal, and I couldn’t believe I was one of the acts. I don’t think I can explain (not like me being unable to explain something is anything new) how intimidating and nerve wracking it was to be sandwiched between Kanye West and Chris Brown in the lineup, and being 2nd to last lol. but hijole!! Coming after Kanye just felt so wrong for me to do, but man I had a blast! Never thought in a million billion kajillion years I’d be performing at Madison Square Garden with Brandy, Leona Lewis, right after Kanye West (even though I felt like a loser going after someone as amazing as that lol) and then Chris Brown and Rihanna. It was just sooo amazing!! The other really cool thing was that Z100 was the first station to play and debut Crush. Man it’s just such a cool thing to be able to to have done. And now looking back on it.. just wow.. But thanks you guys for coming to the shows! The energy everyone brings to the arena really helps us performers step up our game, and really have a great time up there. We have Philly coming up tonight, with Chicago and Minneapolis following after that. So for those of you coming to those shows, I hope you have a great time and thanks for coming! The party after the show was at a bowling alley, so it was fun to go and do that even though I was DEAD tired. my body was just aching since we had so much press and things to do all that day. It was fun to meet so many people though. Bruce Springsteen was at the show with his daughter and her friends, and it was definitely an honor to meet him. At the bowling alley I got to meet a fellow Jive Artist, Lesley Roy. one of her songs called “I’m Gone, I’m Going” is one of my most listened to songs on iTunes haha, and it was great to finally talk to her. She’s from Ireland, so her accent reminded me of my buddy Carly Smithson. It also reminded me of how much I miss Carly . I’d text Carly right now if my phone wasn’t still missing. But anyway… haha. Lesley’s a really cool gal.
Ok wrapping up here, I got a day off today! The band and I went to the Museum of Natural History in New York City. I loved it! It’s fascinating to see the kinds of things that are in museums. I took a few pictures, so I’ll try to load some up. They have tons of different exhibits and things to look at in there. I had a really good time.
Last thing I wanted to mention is that the Video for A Little Too Not Over You is going to be premiering next week on Yahoo Music! A lot of work goes into making videos so I hope you guys like it!! Sorry I can’t ever make these short but I’m done now. So I’ll talk to you guys later. Peace

Song for the day: A Baby Changes Everything – Faith Hill.
This song is for the Holiday Seasons since it’s off of her new Christmas album. It’s a beautiful song and she has such a great voice.
Jingle Ball wrap up

Hey All! I hope everyone’s having a fun time during the holiday season. I did the last few Jingle Ball shows this week, and it was such a blast! Sunday was Philly/South Jersey for Q102, and I was stoked because I got to run out and take a picture of a few things before I had to get ready and leave for the show. I got to see things like the first U.S. library and the Liberty Bell which was way cool. Then on Monday we went to Minnesota for KDWB, and it was the first time I got to see T.I. perform. It was soooo cold! I think it was like -27 with the windchill or something. It was fun though, because in downtown Minneapolis they have indoor walkways that go from building to building with shops all over. That way you don’t have to cross the street in the freezing cold haha. On Tuesday we went to Chicago for the B96 show, and it was really cold there too. It was my last show with my buddy Shontelle, who’s just a really cool girl haha. It was fun doing a lot of shows with her. After the soundcheck in Chicago, I had to go back to the hotel to get some stuff, and normally it takes like… 10 minutes to get there… But with how bad it was snowing and all of the traffic, it took us over an hour to get there. It was pretty painful lol. But luckily I made it in time to do the meet n greets and be prepared for the show. Wednesday in Atlanta for Star 94 was the last show for me, and it was sooooo much fun. I had a really great time, and during my set after I sang A Thousand Miles, the band and crew surprised me with a birthday cake since it was the last time I’d see them before my birthday. The crowd sang happy birthday and I tried to blow out the candles, but they kept lighting back up because they were trick candles haha. It was really cool of them to do that for me though, so thanks you guys! It was so awesome working with them on all of these shows. I felt really privileged to get to work with all of them who were really easy to get along with. My family in Atlanta got to come to the show too, and it was GREAT to see them again! I brought my cousin backstage to meet everyone, and she was really shy haha. Rehab, We the Kings, Colbie Caillat, and Gavin Degraw were all performers, and she got to meet all of them besides Rehab. It was a really cool laid back group of people, so it was a really enjoyable smooth show. Shawn Johnson, the olympic gold medal gymnast, was at the show too. So we got to meet her and she was really cool. During Gavin Degraw’s set while he was singing I Don’t Wanna Be (Which I love by the way) he called Colbie to go up and sing with him when she was standing on the side watching. So she went up and it was awesome! I loved it haha. Oh and another person who got to come to the show was Alexandrea Lushington from top 24! She left before I got to say hi, but I’m really glad she was able to come. So this week has been fun, and now it’s time to relax and spend time with the fam for the holidays. I’m not sure where we’re going to go quite yet, but we’re probably going to go somewhere that isn’t snowing haha. I love looking at the snow, but it’s no fun when you don’t have heat in your house. Oh and another thing. I have this drawer in my room where I keep a lot of memories in, like tickets, cd’s, papers, letters, etc.. and I open it up to put some more stuff… When I open it, all my papers are chewed up and there’s a nest mice made from all of my memories! I tried saving as much as I could, but there was a lot of damage done and I had to throw a lot away . But it’s ok because it was an excuse to clean up haha. So now I’ve been decluttering my room, which is taking forever because more things keep coming into it. I still haven’t gotten a lot of the boxes that I sent home during the Jingle shows, and most of the stuff from tour is in boxes elsewhere. So my room is pretty much uninhabitable. But I’ll hurry and clear things up before we leave. But anyway.. I apologize for my disorganized rambling that doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. But I’m going to a Christmas party now, so I hope everyone has a good week! If you have any fun stories let me know about ‘em! Adios.

Song for the day: Snow – Amie Miriello
This is one of my favorite songs of the year. I thought it’d be appropriate as I now wipe the windshield filled with snow haha.
Happy New Years!

Hola a todos! I hope everyone had an awesome holiday season! I’ve been spending time with my family, and it’s been great! It’s been so nice to finally relax and spend time with all of them. We’ve been in Vegas for the last little while. I’ve been eating WAY too much, but hopefully I’ll be able to lose some of it lol. Anyway, I wanted to thank everyone for incredibly thoughtful things you’ve been saying wishing me happy holidays and also happy birthday! haha. I just had my birthday on the 28th, so I’m now officially 18. Thanks sooo much for all the comments and videos that you guys have sent! It was way cool to see them!! For my birthday we ate Thai food for dinner, and then saw the Blue Man Group which was really cool and creative. It was cool to go to a show with my family and have a fun time doing something together, so I had a great day. On our way to the show my siblings and I found out that we all happened to know the Harry Potter Puppet Pals and the Mysterious Ticking Noise and had enough of us to do the different parts… haha. We’re dorks, but we had fun. But thanks again for all the things you guys have done for me during the holiday season! And hope everyone has a Happy New Year!! I’ll be making an appearance at the Newphoria New Year’s Eve Dance in Orem, Utah for New Year’s, so for those of you going I’ll see ya there! But anyway my mom’s telling me to hurry up because we’re going to eat now so I’ll talk to you guys later!

P.S. Thanks for making the Crush video hit 10 million hits!!!!!! I was like.. floored when I found out! haha.
P.P.S. This blog is way shorter than my other ones! Hooray for not rambling insanely!

Song for the day – If This Isn’t Love – Jennifer Hudson

New Years Resolution?

I hope everyone’s having a great new year so far! I have an official resolution I have set which I’m going to try and keep up with this year, but I’m going to keep it to myself to see how well I do until the end haha… But if you guys don’t mind sharing your resolutions feel free to! I think it’s fun to know about those kinds of things. I performed at a thing in Orem, Utah called Newphoria which was great. My parents, little sisters, and a bunch of my friends were able to come and celebrate! I sang ALTNOY and Crush, and there were some other really neat acts there. My friends, The Osmonds 2nd Generation who were also performing earlier, got a hold of me and invited me to do it. I thought it was a really fun way to celebrate while at home, and I was sooo happy to have my friends and family there with me. We had a blast! Ashley Tisdale was also there hosting. We danced like idiots, and I got some good exercise out of it.
This weekend I went to San Diego to visit a girl for Make-A-Wish who was having a very difficult time battling cancer. It was probably one of the most special things I have ever experienced, and incredibly touching. It helped me even more to be motivated and act. We need to keep ..ing those who battle against such sicknesses. I want to thank those of you who are so strong in facing those kinds of obstacles, and are such an example of hope and strength. Something like that reminds me of what matters most in this life, and I hope to never forget that. I want to thank her and her family, and I want them to know I’m strongly keeping them in my prayers. I’m also so appreciative of Make-A-Wish for allowing incredible things to happen for kids and let their dreams come true. And THANK YOU!! to all of you guys for your donations that you’ve been sending for such great causes! A lot of you have made donations in my name, so thanks for doing that. I always think about how those donations will help out, even if it’s not a huge contribution. That small amount can help change someone’s life one way or another, and just thinking about it gives me the chills. But anyway, sorry for going off on that, I just felt like it was something important to let out.
While we were in San Diego, I got to meet up with one of my friends who was there on vacation. Their family was going to the Chargers vs. Colts game, so we decided to go too! It was such an exciting game, and I’m really glad I was able to see my friend haha. I think it’s cool to meet up with buddies somewhere different from where you live. It was my first NFL game, and the crowd was nuts. The really cool thing about it is the game was at Qualcomm Stadium, which is where I first auditioned for American Idol! It brought back a lot of memories of a lot of waiting lol. But it was cool, and neat to think about how it all started.
Today I’ll be singing at Utah’s Governor Huntsman’s inauguration, and even though it’s FREEZING… it should be a good time. I actually sang at the Governor Huntsman’s inauguration the first time lol. But yeah. It’s actually so hard to sing when it’s cold! I tend to lose my voice in cold weather, and I must be cold-blooded because I just don’t do well with low temperatures. I’ll let you know how it went in my next blog, but I better get going here. Unlike my last blog, this is pretty long haha. So I’ll talk to you guys later!

P.S. Before I go I wanted to mention one thing real quick. I was hanging out at my house when my parents called me in to watch a story on Oprah about this girl named Charice. I had seen her on youtube before and she was at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade, but it was amazing to hear her story and her voice! She seriously has one of the best voices I’ve heard in a long time, and I had chills the entire time I was watching about her life. So instead of a song for the day I think you should check her out! It’s more like a person for the day haha. She was really inspiring and for those of you who haven’t heard her yet I think you’re in for a real treat! She sang My Heart Will Go On during her appearance on Oprah, and it’s amazing to see how much passion she has for what she does! I also loved how she talked about how important her mom was to her. I hope you guys enjoy!
New York, New York

Hey everyone! It’s me again, and I’m just checkin’ in with you guys here in New York…. eating grapes… haha. I’ve gotten a chance to spend more time with my family lately, and it’s been sooooo nice catching up with them. It’s nice just to hang out and talk, or play video games, or do some music stuff together, or go out for lunch with my brother and sisters. I also got to hang out with my friends, which was also really fun. The governor’s inauguration was so cold! But it was a good experience getting to sing for him again, even though the flag kept like hitting me in the face haha. So Utah time was good. Oh! I’ve also been getting more exercise in, which has felt amazing! I haven’t really gotten the chance to go running and stuff for a while, so I was so excited to be able to fit that in. What made it really fun is I got to work out with my friends a lot, and that made it a lot easier to spend more time at the gym or wherever haha. But yeah. I’m in New York for a performance I have at the Hard Rock Cafe, where I’m doing a small set for Bauer Publishing’s J-14, M and Twist Magazines. I think some contest winners have been invited too! I love New York, even though it’s freezing! I don’t deal too well with the Utah cold or the New York cold, so I always have to make sure the heat’s blasting in my room. After New York, I’ll be heading back to the West coast to LA to do a few more things. But that’s all I really have to say for now. See you guys around!
P.S. I hope I’m getting better at not rambling too much about things! I’ll keep working at it haha.
Week of Updates

Hola. I’m updating on what’s been going on again haha. So last week was pretty crazy!
Monday was way fun with the Hard Rock Cafe performance! For those of you who went, I hope you had fun. I also accompanied myself on A Little Too Not Over You for the first time in New York for WPLJ.
After New York, I went to LA to do some stuff for Build-A-Bear, and there were 2 other talented girls. One of them was named Meaghan, who I believe was in Camp Rock. The other girl was named Jamia, and she was the little girl in August Rush! I remember watching Jamia actually on Showtime at the Apollo and Jay Leno when she was 7, so it was so cool! haha. I was blown away by her then, and I am blown away by her now. She was full of energy, and was hilarious too.
On Friday I did Radio Disney. I got to visit all the lovely cheerful staff at the Radio Disney station again, and I always love to go there. I performed there again, and got to talk to Ernie D and answer some phone calls on the air. Access Hollywood was there too, and they filmed me singing and doing my interviews there. I also had a little photo shoot for Radio Disney too, just for a few things.
Saturday, I performed at one of the events at Sundance, and that was really special because it was the first time I sang a song with my brother accompanying me on guitar. He accompanied me on You Can, and he did great haha. My friends and family got to come along, and we partied and just jammed out to music. We all had a really good time.
I then flew out to DC to sing the National Anthem at a Latino Gala event on Sunday, one of the events going on for the week of the inauguration. Some of the performers were War, Paulina Rubio, Alejandro Sanz, and Marc Anthony, and I really enjoyed watching them. I got a chance to talk to Jennifer and Marc, and they were some of the coolest people I have ever met! It’s awesome because my mom is a huge fan of both of them, and they’re both incredibly talented. I love meeting people who are really well known and stuff, and you expect them to act all big and important, when they are some of the most down-to-earth cool people you’ve ever met haha. That’s how they were, and I really respected them for that. And I hope I can sing like Marc when I’m older.
So another thing I got to do was go the the Museum of Natural History in DC, which I LOVED! I’m such a fan of things like museums lol. And there was so much to look at there. They had a lot of prehistoric animal skeletons to look at, and I got some pictures so I’ll load those up. But seriously, if you live in that area you need to go that museum! It’s a lot of fun. Well, at least if you like museums it’s fun.
Lastly, this is a big week so make sure to keep up with the Inauguration today! I’ll write another blog soon.
Song for the day: Raise It Up – Jamia Simone Nash and Impact Repertory Theater (From August Rush) I This is a song Jamia sings on August Rush. I think it’s such a cool movie. I first watched it during my trip to Lake Powell during my short break in between The show and tour (and everything
else.) So good memories lol.
Adele, Senior Ball and Miranda all in 3 days!

Hi all. David here with another blog. So this week I got to go to the Adele concert!! Adele is amazing amazing amazing amazing, and she sounds so good live! James Morrison opened up for her, and he sings with so much soul. It’s so weird to see him perform because white people usually don’t sing like that haha. But anyway, I loved how Adele didn’t move around a whole lot when she performed.
She was all about the voice, and didn’t try to change that. What’s also cool is that it was at the Murray Theater in Murray, my home town! A few of my friends came with me too, so good times haha.
This Saturday was another extremely exciting day, because I got to go to Senior Ball at my high school!! I didn’t think I’d ever get another chance to go to a school dance, but I asked management and they gave the ok and made time in the schedule for me to go. I had soooo much fun! For our day activity, we had breakfast and then played games. We fit in a lot of them too. We played dodge ball, basketball, musical chairs, apples to apples, and crab soccer. I got a good work out from the crab soccer too haha. We rocked out at the dance too, and even though I sweat so bad it was worth it.
The girl I got to go with was awesome too. After the dance we all watched Mall Cop, but I kept falling asleep lol. I was so tired.
And I had to wake up early in the morning anyway for a flight.
So yesterday, we flew back down to LA, and I did some things for Nickelodeon with Miranda Cosgrove. It was something that involved more lines to say, haha. So I was really nervous before we started, but once we got going I had so much fun! It felt like Miranda and I just hung out all day long, and she’s such a nice girl. But yeah, the lines were for Crush Night that’s coming up on February 7th! The day of my acting debut.. when the episode of iCarly I’m on airs. It really is so much fun working with all of them on that show. I wasn’t sure if I’d get to work with them anytime soon, so when I heard I was going to be working with Miranda Sunday, I was pumped! haha. But yeah, I’ll stop talking about that and save it for the week it comes on. But keep that on your calendars! It’s a big day haha. Well for me anyway. But yeah I wrote an awfully lot in this blog. But it was a big weekend! Adele, the school dance, and Miranda all in 3 days. But I will post some pictures for you guys. Bye bye.

Song of the week: Adele “Best for Last.” Her album is my favorite right now!
Update from Florida!

Heeey Eerrrrbody. I’m reporting from Florida today, and I’m having a grand time in my birth state haha. Last Saturday, both Mr. Cook and I got to perform at a corporate event for Primesource in Hollywood, Florida (Where I used to live!) I was nervous before I went on stage because it was the first time I’d done a set that long since my vocal chord paralysis issues a few years ago. I was hardly able to do 1 song after that happened, and so I was even nervous with the tour when I did 4 songs heh, just because I wasn’t sure if my voice would be able to handle it. But I did 10 songs for the corporate event, and my voice was fine! It just made me feel really good to know how much my voice has improved since that whole weird thing. We had a lot of fun though, and Cook and his band were amazing as always. It was good to see him, because I haven’t seen him in a while. It’ll be fun to see more of the old gang at the Disney thing coming up in a couple of weeks. I took some pictures of Cook and his band from backstage, but they’re really lame…. so… I’m not putting them up haha.
When I got to my hotel room after the event, I made it just in time to watch Jason Mraz perform on SNL! He sang I’m Yours, which I don’t think I’ll ever get sick of hearing, and Lucky with Colbie Caillat. Good stuff. Anyway, Sunday was the day of the Superbowl.
I wasn’t able to watch it because I was speaking at a church fireside at the last minute around that same time period. However, on my way to the fireside I called my friend to listen to Jennifer Hudson sing the National Anthem over the phone lol. It was so good! Jennifer has pipes! I watched it on youtube later. It was Steelers vs. Cardinals, and the Steelers won. I still have to watch Bruce Springsteen perform during the halftime.
So for the next little bit I’ll be doing some promo in Florida.
It’s really nice to be in Florida right now, especially when it’s snowing in Utah. Gotta love warm weather. I’ll be going to Hawaii too to sing the National Anthem at the Pro Bowl, and it’ll be my first time in Hawaii! Woot woot! That means more sunshine haha.
Well I hope anyway… at least more hanging out in warmer regions.
I’ll let you know how that goes next week. But I better head out now. I’ll let you know how the promo in Florida goes too! adios.
Song for the day: Rock & Roll – Eric Hutchinson This song puts me in such a great mood! It’s my feel-good jam! If they wanna rock, they rock, if they wanna roll, they roll
p.s. Tour dates have been announced and tickets are on sale! Be sure to check ‘em out and see which ones are by you!
HAWAII

Aloha! I’m here in sunny Hawaii, and it’s so nice here. I sang at the Pro Bowl yesterday, and that was way cool. Enrique Iglesias and Ciara sang during the halftime, and that was fun to watch because we got to watch from the field. I didn’t get a chance to talk to Ciara, but Enrique was a cool guy. He’s tall though! I didn’t realize how tall he was. He’s 6 ft. 2 in. haha. But anyway, the day before the Pro Bowl performance I sang at Ohana Day where people can watch the players practice. I sang A Little Too Not Over You, and it went well. Today we’re going to try and look around the island and be tourists haha. It’s so beautiful here, and I forgot how much I miss hot humid weather. It’s been a long time since I haven’t worn a scarf and jacket, because even last year during spring and summer we were always inside cold studios or arenas. Oh you know what’s funny is while I was in the LAX airport for my layover, I ran into Cook and his gang. We were in the same gate area haha. Only he was headed to Florida, and I was leaving Florida.
So before we went to Hawaii, I was in Florida doing promo.
What was shocking is how cold it was there! I didn’t think I’d have to wear a jacket and scarf there, but it felt like Utah weather at some points. It was really fun traveling around though, and I got to see my family when we were in Central Florida. I also got to visit a Children’s Hospital in Daytona Beach, that they called Speediatrics haha. It was really neat. But I’ll be heading back to Florida after Hawaii for the Disney thing this week, so I’m excited! I’ve been trying to not adjust to Hawaiian time, because I’m already in the Florida time zone mode lol. But I can’t wait for the Disney thing!
This Saturday they showed the iCarly episode on Nickelodeon, so for those of you who watched it I hope you had fun! I had so much fun hanging with Miranda. Don’t forget to watch this weekend too! I’ll be performing A Little Too Not Over You this Saturday on Nickelodeon, so fun stuff. haha.
All right, so before I close here, I just wanted to talk about the Grammy Awards! They were on the same day as the Pro Bowl, so I was keeping a little too busy to be able to watch it. But I had friends that were keeping me updated on what was going on haha.
First off, I’d just like to congratulate all the winners and their successes. I was so excited to hear Adele won 2 Grammys for Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance! She is truly amazing, and I’m so happy that she has gotten some more recognition for the quality of her music. It’s sooo good. Well anyway, I better head out and get started with seeing more of Hawaii. I’ll talk to you guys later and let you know how things went this week!

Song for the day: Right As Rain – Adele
Sorry for having Adele again so soon, but this song rocks and she had a big night last night haha. Brooke White was actually the person who introduced this song to me a while back, and inspired my love for Adele’s stuff haha. Go Brooke!! If you haven’t heard Chasing Pavements by Adele yet though, you should check that out too.
Hawaii, American Idol & New Orleans

Hey guys! So I’m going to try and summarize this week since it was
a pretty crazy one. We were able to look around the island of Oahu
and do a lot of neat things there. We first went to the Sea Life
Park and saw a dolphin show there. Then, we went to the Polynesian
Cultural Center for a luau and saw the incredible show about all
the different cultures of the Islands. Some other things we got to
do were have shaved ice at Matsumoto’s, go to the Dole Pineapple
Plantation, a macadamian nut store, and see a few beaches. we had
a really really good time, and I have fallen in love with Hawaii.
I want to go back soon! It’s funny because even when it was like
70 degrees, people who lived there were saying it was cold haha. I
loved it.

After we left Hawaii, we went to Orlando for the premiere of the
American Idol Experience at Disney World. It felt like a family
reunion with so many past idol contestants. All 7 winners were
there, and Melinda, Phil, Lakisha,
Sanjaya, Brooke, and a bunch of other people were there too haha.
My older sister came down for the event, and my cousins were
already in that area because it was my grandma’s birthday that same
day. So they got to come too! It was a reunion with the American
Idol family, and my real family. the American Idol Experience was
so cool too! It was freakishly similar to the real stage, and I
think it’s way cool how people can get a chance to see what it’s
like to be in our shoes up on stage performing or watching the show
live. We got to ride the rides after doing press. Man so much to
talk about! But I don’t want to make this a novel lol.

The final thing I’m going to talk about is my first time going to
New Orleans. I was there to be in the Caesar Parade on Valentine’s
Day, and that was way cool. I got to throw tons and tons of beads
to people. The night I got there, I was able to eat dinner with
Gavin Degraw and Tony Orlando, who are like 2 of the coolest and
nicest people you could ever know. We ate at a restaurant called
Impastato’s, and oh my heck! It was AMAZING! It was so good we
went to eat there the next day lol. But Tony and Gavin were to
performing in New Orleans too. Tony already performed that night,
but Gavin was performing the next day so we went to see him
perform. He was great. After him though…. I had a big surprise
lol. We didn’t know that Sara Bareilles was going to be on after
him!! I couldn’t believe that I was going to see Sara Bareilles
without even planning on it or knowing she was there! Haha it was
so cool! She’s sooo good live too. I got a chance to talk to her
and she was talking about how nice my fans were. So thanks to all
of you guys!! I thought that was so cool of her to mention that,
and how we could both agree on that. But anyway, I was really
happy haha. The parade was right after that, and it was neat
because we had police escorts to take us where we needed to go.
When we got to the float is was crazy how many people were asking
for autographs lol. I wasn’t expecting so many of them. But yeah,
the parade started and it began to rain. I like the rain though so
I didn’t mind too much. I was just hoping I didn’t get sick haha.
It was way fun though!

Well I tried my best to keep this short, so I hope it wasn’t too
long. Check out my new pictures to see my Hawaii experience and go to my website, www.davidarchuleta.com to see the Idol and New Orleans pics!

I’m going to be rehearsing as much as I can with the band
while we have time, especially since tour is starting really soon!
I’m so excited for that. But I better head out now to get the day
rolling. I’ll talk to you guys later! Oh and let me know if any
of you go to the American Idol Experience! I want to know what you
think of it! Another thing I’d like to know is if any of you did
cool things for Valentine’s Day too. Hope everyone had a good one!

Song for the day: In Love With a Girl – Gavin Degraw
Hooray for Gavin
Last week on tour

Hey muchachos y muchachas! David here, and I’m in Pocatello, Idaho for our show here tonight. I have to get ready for the show tonight, so I’m going to try and be quick here. Lesley’s not on tour with us anymore . I’m really going to miss her, but I wish the best for her! I think she’s going to be doing some TV appearances pretty soon, so look out for her! Amie Miriello will now be doing the last few shows with us. She is AWESOME. Her album is one of the albums I’ve been listening a lot too lately. I’ve mentioned her in one of my blogs before for her song “Snow.” It’s one of my favorite songs. So I hope you guys enjoy her! It’s really exciting to have her on board for a bit haha.

So this last week we had our Pomona, California show. It was our closest show to LA, and I saw a lot of familiar faces in the crowd! haha. I also had some friends come to the show. Jason (Castro) came with some of his family! It was awesome to see all of them, and I’m glad they were able to come. Jennette McCurdy (Sam on iCarly) also came! It was fun just hanging out with all of them backstage after the show. So I hope you guys had a fun time! Thanks for coming to the show! (Idk if either of you even read this but whatever haha.) Jason’s been working on a lot of original material right now and Jennette has a new single out right now called “So Close.” So if you want… you should check it out! We also had some GREEAAT shows after that. We had Reno, Idaho Falls, and Boise shows. These were some of my favorite shows to do! And the crowds were all awesome! Thanks you guys sooo much for coming out! I’ve been getting more and more into the shows every night. All right, so I better get ready for the Pocatello show tonight, and then we head for St. George tomorrow. If you guys happen to be near St. George area, please come! We’d love to have all the support we can at that show, and it’s sort of the warm up for Salt Lake. If you guys do come, I’d really really appreciate it. But anyway, I better head off now. I’ll ttyl!

P.S. I’ve been keeping up with this season of AI and would love to hear your thoughts on who you like the best. Leave me a message on my mobile fan club line and let me know! haha:)

Song for the day: I Came Around – Amie Miriello
This is another one of my favorites by Amie. I’d also recommend “Snow” again if you haven’t listened to that yet!
8:12 PM
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

Hello again

Hey everyone. It’s Daaavid here. This last week I went to Cleveland, Ohio to make an appearance at the IX Indoor Amusement Park. I got sick while I was there, so I unfortunately didn’t get to ride any of the rides. I did get to go to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame though! I really enjoyed looking at all the different things they had there, like outfits, notes, guitars, and other things of iconic figures in music. They have the jacket Michael Jackson wore in Thriller! Pretty insane. You can’t take pictures inside though, so I don’t have any lol. But while I was there, they had an event going on after it closed I guess. I’m not exactly sure what was going on, but I know that the guy who did the Evolution of Dance on Youtube was there!! I saw him from a distance, and he had the classic orange Crush shirt. I was thinking, “…He looks familiar… but why?…… oh my gosh! It’s the Evolution of Dance guy!” So I got to meet him and take a picture with him haha. So yeah, Ohio was pleasant.
I was in Utah for a couple of days after Ohio, and had the chance to go to the Brandi Carlile concert! I really love Brandi’s album The Story, but wasn’t really familiar with anything else. I listen to that album all the time though. She has such a powerful, emotional voice. It’s like you can feel her pain or how she feels for the songs she’s singing, and it draws you in. It has a westerny, folky vibe to it, which brings the music really down to earth… if that makes sense… lol. But we were able to talk to her for a little bit afterwards, and she was a totally sweet gal with a cool edge to her. I put her song The Story as song for the day a while ago, but she has a lot of other really good songs. I thought her voice was amazing on the record, but it is seriously breath-taking live. Her albums were released just a few years ago, but I honestly think she must have improved so much already because it really is sooo good live. Then again, everything pretty much sounds better live haha. Anyway, I just wanted to share that with you all. I’m going to head out here now, but I’ll talk to you all later!

P.S. I am loving Britain’s Got Talent right now! Just… wow… That’s all I can say lol.
So instead of songs for the day, I’m going to mention youtube links of 2 performers from Britain’s Got Talent that you HAVE to check out if you haven’t already. The first one is Susan Boyle, and the 2nd one is Shaheen Jafargholi. I freakin’ love these! lol. I think both of them are such cool stories and performances. It gives me chills.
Susan Boyle – I still can’t get over this.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lp0IWv8QZY

Shaheen – He sounds like he’s Black lol. It’s incredible.

Happy Cinco de Mayo

Hey guys, I haven’t done a written blog for a while, so I decided to do one this week. I’m still in the UK, and having a blast! I’ve been managing to get some sightseeing in by waking up early in the mornings and looking around before we have to leave each day for the shows. I had a friend who lives pretty much down the street from me who happened to be in London this last weekend with his family, so I got to hang out and go around town with them! It was soo cool that we just so happened to be in London at the same time. I did sightseeing with them, but they left a few days ago. This morning, I decided to go to the Tower of London and take a tour around there. It was wicked cool seeing the crown jewels, and to think of how old all the buildings and things there were! Insane! I had a great time. Some other places and things I’ve gotten to go to and see are Covent Garden, Camden Town, Big Ben and Parliament, Buckingham Palace, and Westfield. I’ve managed to get quite a bit in each morning! Amazing what you can get done if you wake up early enough, haha.

So we had our show today in Croydon, and I felt really good tonight. I always wonder what people must be thinking watching me move lol, but I think the less you’re concerned about how strange people must think you look up on stage, the more you can just let go and get into the song. I’m trying to let myself get into that mind set more, and it’s been working . But anyway, after I was finished performing my set, they were telling me to pack up my stuff immediately because we had to go somewhere. It was with one of the promoters of the show, so I was assuming we were going to have dinner r something. When we got to our destination, we were actually in Camden Town area. I recognized it from when I went there yesterday haha. We got to the doors, and they handed me a pass with The Fray on it. I was shocked! I had no idea they were playing in London, and that I’d even be able to go see them lol. They were great, and their music is really passionate and striking live. I was able to talk to them afterwards too, and they were cool guys. Unfortunately, I was only able to see part of their set. The good thing is that right when I got there they started playing Look After You, which is a killer song. So I’m hoping to see their whole set sometime in the future. If you’re in the London area, they have another show tomorrow if you want to see them. It was the promoter and one of McFly’s managers who were able to make the surprise happen for me, so I’ve gotta thank them! haha. It was a real treat. But yeah… As you all probably know I can never ever keep blogs short. But just thought I’d let you know how things have been! I’m starting to become addicted to Twitter, but it’s nice because I can keep people updated all the time and the messages aren’t uber long. If you want to follow me my twitter name is DavidArchie haha. Ok. I’m done now. Talk to you guys later!

P.S. If you are in the UK let me know if you’re coming to any of the McFly shows! If you’ve already gone let me know what you thought. Thanks!

P.P.S. I love concerts

Checking in from LA

Hey guys! It’s me again. I’m reporting from LA, and have been here for a bunch of meetings. It’s nice to actually be here this week because, as you probably know, the Finale for American Idol was on Tuesday and Wednesday! I got to go both nights, and had a really fun time. Congratulations to Kris! He was really impressive throughout the whole season, and I think he really deserves his success. It’s always good to see good things happen to good people, you know? Adam did exceptionally well too, and I’m sure he has a lot of great things ahead of him with is amaaazing voice and talent that he has. So props to both of them. I’m glad that they both sang the songs they sang for the 1st round, because those were my favorite performances they had performed during the season.
After the Tuesday show, I went backstage and got to see all the AI production crew again! Which is always great haha. I was able to go into the production room, which I was excited about because during the show we were never allowed in there haha. It was good to mingle with all of them.

All right, so Wednesday now: We started with the red carpet, which was crazy enough with all the interviews and seeing everyone around me that was there. It was an exciting show too. They had a lot of great performers like Cyndi Lauper, Jason Mraz, Kiss, and you probably already know who was there haha. But I really enjoyed it. Oh, and Brooke White sat next to me! It’s always good to see her haha. I actually got to hang out with her on Monday, and we got something to eat and just got to catch up. it was a really good time. After the show, I went to all the after party stuff and it was great getting to talk to a whole bunch of people. I hadn’t talked to a lot of them for a long time, and it was also neat getting to meet and talk to new people too. Someone I got to talk to was Tamyra from the first season! I was really surprised she was there, and didn’t recognize her at first because I wasn’t expecting to see her lol. It was good to talk to her and let her know I appreciated what she did for me. For those of you who don’t know, Tamyra’s performance during the 1st season top 30 was one of the most influential performances for me. I had never really WATCHED or studied people perform before, and to see her put so much soul into it was amazing to me. I’m glad I was able to thank her again. But yeah, got to talk to a lot of people haha. I got to talk to Kris Allen’s family and they were all just really really nice people. It made me even happier for Kris, because you could tell he has some great people around him. I hung out with Carly Smithson and Jason Castro afterwards, and I also hung out with Castro after my meetings last night haha. So it’s been great just catching up with everyone! I haven’t been able to talk to all of them for a while, so I was really glad to spend time with all of them. It’s definitely been an American Idol week haha.

Tonight I have a writing session after some more meetings, so hope things go well! I’m still not that great of a writer or anything, but man do I love it. Even if we don’t write a smash hit, it’s great to be able to get the experience, and feel more comfortable writing. You always learn something new with each song you do. So I’m really looking forward to it. WIsh me luck! Well I have to head out now. But I will talk to you guys later. I have some things coming up this next week and I’ll let you know about them in the next blog. If you want to keep up with me in a way that’s updated more often, you can follow me on twitter haha. I need to not spend so much time on there, but my username’s DavidArchie. Well I’m off. Goodbye!

In a nutshell…

For the last couple of weeks, AFS has talked about scaling back and going to a new, simpler format. I thought I would take a few minutes to talk about why we decided to make those changes.

As anyone who has been an admin for a fansite can tell you, running a site can be extremely time consuming. In regards to the work I personally produced or oversaw, whether it was on Snarky Archies or AFS, I tried my best to make sure the information was the highest quality; sourced, credited, accurate and verified. I did my best to make sure everything posted was within our guidelines to protect David’s privacy and to show him in the best light possible. As a team, we tried to make it seem effortless, but those in the know can attest to the countless decisions made on a daily basis.

In the early days of David’s post Idol career, fansites were a necessary part of his success. We were the bridge between Idol-David and Solo-Career-David. On a personal level, it was my way of letting him know I was in it for the long haul, that he was more than a flash-in-the-pan and I wouldn’t forget him come Season 8.

Fansites were the only way to disseminate information about tours, vip tickets, and appearances. Remember the pathetic Jive site? Now of course, with Kari and the awesome Official Site (and David away for awhile) real news is pretty much covered. In fact, back in the day, when news was slow in reaching fans, I wouldn’t have hesitated to post a rumor (or speculation) that looked like a real possibility but now, with the OS always on top of things, that thought would never occur to me. Things have changed a lot in the past year or so, haven’t they?

Sites were also the place for fans to hook up, make connections and travel plans. It was fun and exciting to see those relationships develop. I know many, including myself, who have made friends for life. I remember once when a fan commented that her phone now contained more David fan phone numbers than everyone else in her life. Guilty as charged!

More than anything though, the bottom line is David is away. For me, that means it’s time to do something else. I honestly believe that I do not need to be engaged the entire two years he’s gone in order to show my support for him as a person or his career. I told him I would be here in 2014 which leaves the balance of 2012, 2013 and a portion of 2014 open for other things. I can understand that other fans might feel differently, but I encourage those on the fence to take a break and come back with renewed energy (and funds, lol!) for what may come.

And Then I Became a Fan

by “Nad” Ronald R.

The beginning-music

I am a music lover. In fact, for me, without music, life could be so boring. I believe music is one of the greatest creations of God. Why? I found the three aspects of life – faith, hope and love in music. Through music we could express our praise and our faith to Him. Through music, God uses the singers to bring hope to those who almost give up in their life. And through music, we can feel the love and comfort of God. Then I have to say music must be for God and it shouldn’t be distorted. That’s the reason I choose singers whom I admire carefully. Singers that have a great personality and never use music to do things that are not pleasing to God. And this is the root of why I became a fan of David.

At first

At first I didn’t know anything about David or his songs. Only I knew was he is a singer. I learned about him from my sister who is a fan of him since American idol. I just ignore it because I’m not a big fan of international singers. Most (not all) of the foreign singers today always connect lust in their music that’s why I just focus in patronizing Filipino singers although I have favorsite foreign songs. So back to David, even my sister is a fan; it didn’t catch my interest to know him more. I never get a chance to listen carefully to any of his songs. And the worst is I bullied my sister for being so fanatic to him. So that happened for four years since he became famous in AI.

That magical moment

I always believe for a turning point moment. Sometimes, things you always ignore before became your interest to be treasured of. Last May 2012, I got a chance to watch MYX daily top 10. Part of the top 10 is the “Forevermore” rendition of David Archuleta”. Forevermore is one of my favorite love songs so it got my attention. That was the first time I listen carefully to the whole song of David and to my surprise he nailed that song more than anyone else who sang it. I was amazed with his wonderful voice that really soothes your heart and soul. It’s the first time that I heard a singer connecting to the heart of the listener without watching him live! His powerful vocals are given but what I really admire to his singing is the life he gave in every songs. Many singers can sing, but I could count those singers who could give life to what they sing. And that’s the start of my interest to this wonderful singer. I said to myself, there is something good behind this person why he sings like that. I’m sure this person has amazing character. Because that’s what I believe in every singers that their personalities reflect on how they deliver the song to their listeners. In fact he had quoted this in COS- “The bottom line is that while you’re performing it’s hard to hide who you really are. It’s all about the interpretation of the song, not just the song itself.” Page 198

Hei! I’m now a huge fan!

It’s my tradition that before I admire a singer, I always check first his/her personality. Why? First, I don’t want to be influenced by a singer who will lead you to the dark path. I tell you, a lot of foreign singers are like that so be careful on choosing your idols. Second, I don’t want to waste my money for a singer who is not worth spending because of his/her personality. So after that magical moment of hearing Forevermore by David, I’ve done research about David’s life, career and personalities for me to prove my instinct on the character of this person. I read a lot of articles, interviews, biographies and even comments about him. I watched some of his performances. I was wowed because I never read or heard any negative things about his personalities. And then I learned of the Counting David’s Character site. This site really overwhelmed me about his personality. I never knew an artist with this so genuine character. I am right to my instinct. That time, I said to myself that from now on I am a certified archie. It’s funny that I am surprised that he is already in his mission when I became fan but I’m really proud to his decision. Choosing to serve God first is not that easy for being a successful singer like him. I really admire him on that decision. Another thing I admire on him is he rather sticks to his principle and purpose in doing music than compromising and following the flow of worldly music. He could be so famous if he follows the steps of those top rating singers but he always believe on his real purpose why he is doing this. And that’s what you called a great singer! Then I buy his book, Chords of Strength, to know him further. That book really changed my life. I can’t measure the impact of David’s life to mine. He’s so awesome. I had read someone’s’ life but only his turned me to cry. I cried not just because of his inspiring life but most of all because his life convicted me. I couldn’t imagine this person is almost perfectly nice having that amazing character that mine is so far behind his. Being inspire with his life, I decided to go back to church again. For, me David’s life should be an inspiration to all so that this world could be a good place to live.

Currently and I believe it’ll be forever, David is my most favorite singer of all. He might not have those 20 millions of followers in twitter, multiplatinum awards on albums, no. 1 spot on billboards and most viewed in youtube but I know he has the most important thing that many artists miss nowadays. And that’s tha anointing of God! That’s a big reason to become a big fan to him! I might be too late for being a fan but I assure to all I’m the one of those last people who will stand for him.

I want to leave one of amazing quotes of David in COS that really made me cries.

“As I said, I strongly believe that fame brings with it the opportunity to help others people. You can use your name for the purpose of doing good, as opposed to just being tabloid material all the time. You can actually make difference. I feel that all celebrities should take this responsibility seriously and take advantage of their position to spread positive messages. I hold this as a top priority as I move further along in my career; whatever “status” I have will be as much for others as it is form myself, BECAUSE FAME IS NOTHING WITHOUT GENEROSITY AND KINDNESS” –David Archuleta ~ Chords of Strength page 236 (emphasis added)

To all his fans, I would like to encourage you not just to follow his music, but also to follow his character!

I would like to have some archu-friends! Please follow me on twitter @iamnadruiz

God bless.

~ Nad

May the God Bless You.
I will always share this song’s of David Archuleta to my family, friends and to all of the people.
THANK YOU THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

I personally did not gift Reiner, he was gifted by another fan. Archuleta FanScene merely made the connection ♥

…Now I’m writing this and I still can’t believe. LOL! I mean, really, I’ve been like, “Oh those lucky people have got their copies….When will it be available in Indonesia?” and I keep questioning day-by-day. But things really come to those who wait )))

Oh, I’m sorry, how did I get this? So Archuleta Fan Scene made such a gifting campaign for those who can’t purchase the album. People who wanted to be gifted just had to send an email of name and mailing address, as simple as it sounds. I automatically sent my email just when I found this gifting campaign out but (Thank, God) I didn’t expect anything. Things always turn out to be good when I don’t expect I don’t know if the gifting is still going on, but maybe you can check it out on Fan Scene!

So….. THANK YOU for the donor, whoever and wherever you are! You have helped me SO MUCH by doing this. Also THANK YOU for Archuleta Fan Scene for holding this gifting for international fans who can’t get BEGIN. You guys just made my day and even saved my fangirling life LOL. And THANK YOU for anyone that made it possible for me to get this album, you know, the postman, the driver, and whoever brought this through the air or sea. I can’t thank you guys enough! )))

As of this posting, we are currently #1! CLICK HERE for updates.

Hi Crush Kids’ Cancer team,

I wanted to take a pause to be a little serious and let you know how much each and every one of you is recognized and what this team truly means. Many of you have sent messages to let me and/or David know how a diagnosis of cancer is so very personal to you. I want the members of the team to know that your voice is heard, your feelings are known, and that each and every team member counts in this fight. I do know what it’s like to be given a cancer diagnosis only to learn that there are some in whom you previously might have entrusted your life and yet who are surprisingly indifferent to your potential mortality. I do know what it’s like to be a child and watch a loved one go through the horror of a cancer diagnosis and treatment. I haven’t seen patients directly in over five years, but never will I forget the look in a parent’s eyes when I would lay my stethoscope on the silent chest of his/her child who had just passed, and confirm their worst nightmare. The most hideous sound on Earth is the sound of a mother wailing in anguish upon receiving the news that her child has just passed away or that there are no treatment options left. I don’t know how else to describe it except to say, it eviscerates your soul.

Why am I sharing this with all of you some 4 years after starting the team? Because most of you have experienced any number of the cancer stories I’ve described above and it’s part of what unites us all both as a team and as fellow human beings. We get so caught up in the excitement of winning the challenge that sometimes the ugly stories behind the fight get forgotten. That’s so easy to let happen right now while David isn’t here to cheer us on.

Way more important than my understanding, however, is that David understands what it is that you have all endured (or are still battling currently). I realized this early on in the first fundraising challenge 4 years ago. No one in the fanbase knew who I was back then; most of you thought I was just some Archie-smitten teen rather than a middle-aged pediatric oncologist. So, how then, do we explain, a group of 550 strangers banding together within a 2 -week time frame and raising over $30,000 (about half of which was raised in the final 12 hours)?

David, of course, is the only possible explanation – the only common thread. What always amazed me was that while I and other adults may understand and relate to the impact of a cancer diagnosis because we have had the benefit of maturity and of direct personal experience, David understood even as a mere teenager, without ever having endured most of these experiences personally. Moreover, we all somehow knew, that David would “get it”, i.e., that he would have a level of compassion and understanding that sometimes even our closest friends might not be able to muster. We, on this team and in this fanbase, all saw something that the other viewers had missed entirely. We saw that beneath that goofy, dorky teen exterior and that ever-present smile, beat the heart of a human being with a compassion so profound, that it radiated right through the television screen and permeated deep into our own hearts. We didn’t even have to share our own individual cancer battle stories with him to feel that we were heard and understood. What’s more, we all knew, that the only way to thank him was not to give to him directly, but rather to uphold a principle that I suspect is dear to David, and that is common to all our faiths and to all humanity. Simply put, that principle is that if we witness or become aware of the potential for suffering in another, it is our obligation to do whatever we can to alleviate that suffering. This SU2C team became the first of many opportunities to fulfill that shared obligation.

So, for those of you who have been hit hard by the economy, please don’t donate financially to this team and instead consider donating blood, registering for the bone marrow registry, or just remember to do your regular cancer screening. If, however, you think you can comfortably afford to donate even a little to the team and you support the strategy of SU2C as much as I do, then I hope you will do what you can to bring us one step closer to finding successful, tolerable treatments and preventing the suffering that cancer forces so many to endure. The more we raise, the greater the reminder to the world that David is not just a great singer, but a great man to have inspired such a team. Given that we raised over $30,000 with a team half the size and raised about $15,000 in the final 12 hours, I know we can still pull this off.

Thanks again for all of the support,
Pecan Pie

AFD, you are not only a partner as we have planned many charity projects together but also a great friend.

It takes alot of your personal time to run this website. It is an everyday job…and with the help of many other great writers, there have been daily post even as David continues to be busy serving his mission. This site is a full time job and you have been an amazing manager!

I have had many questions over the years…some very dumb such as “How do I copy/paste in the post?” LOL and you have always help me anytime, day and night. I am NOT even 25% as computer savvy as you!

We have had many laughs and many frustrations running all these charity projects over the last 4 years but was it worth it? YES !

But..its time for the next chapter. Your family needs you. You can pass on your charity heart to your child. There is so much to be done out there way beyond this fan base.

You have changed my life and perspective, helped clarify things when I have been confused (which doesn’t take much lol) , and there were many times when we could finish each other’s sentences when it came to charity and the integrity we wanted each project to have. You held high standards and I respect that.

Charity has always been both of our priorities..it makes the most sense when it comes to David and his fansites..we can all make a difference.

As FanScene diminishes into a new format…

A LIGHT CONTINUES TO SHINE BRIGHT

YOUR LIGHT AFD

I wish you the best of luck..

Now Go Change the World
