Thanks so much for posting this video of ING – David sounds beautiful and he is so expressive as he sings this song…loved it!! I kind of began (wishful) thinking that he could have been singing to all of his fans as he packed his suitcase and sang “I’ll never go far away from you…” and, after all is said and done, that’s a good thought to be left with lol!!

Hi everyone, I really need your help here. I don’t seem to get what everyone is seeing in this video. I see a complete mixed message. This vid, in combination with the farewell vid, actually made me miss him more and feel that he is even further away from us. What am I missing?

I think maybe the vid just hit me really hard in a … its March again and he just left. I can’t help myself, I just miss that guy so much today. I read somewhere that D would never want to reopen that wound again. I know in my heart that to be true. D loves/misses us as we love/miss him.
What’s weird is that with just the song I felt that even with him being away physically, we’re still in eachother’s hearts so its like he’s not really gone. With the vid, its all about him being gone and me being sad. Does that make any sense?
I think I would like to know what other’s are feeling. If they would like to share. Maybe i’m just reading into the vid things that aren’t there. I’m not as raw as I was 9 hrs ago. So some progress made. Lol

Great insights Pouncer. The video is very ‘emo.’ It pulls one in many directions. I think it is classic David…a message for the listener to decipher based on their experience. I was happy to see the video and a little melancholy that it is still about 21 months til he returns to the music scene.
I am glad that there continues to be second hand tweets, videos, pictures and songs released while he is away. Means to me that he intends to keep his music career on life support while on hiatus. I am impressed that his upcoming album release is in keeping with his mission. Smart that!! As well as full of good intentions. And who knows, maybe some of these songs will take on a life of their own. Us fans will enjoy them for sure.

I truly can relate to the fact that you miss David so much…I was in my car today and played his first CD and was listening to “My Hands” and suddenly I was so overwhelmed by his absence… we are so lucky that he was so available to us via his numerous concerts, his vlogs, and tweets… and he took the time to make sure that we would have more of his wonderful music later this summer – so, you see, he’s really not far away from us – he’s always in our hearts and that’s true whether he’s fifty miles away or 5,000 miles away…think about the song “Rainbow” – when David says “can you feel me…”, I feel his presence every single day…(and that song really says so much and so beautifully)…I’m so glad that you said “some progress” has been made because I didn’t want you to feel so very sad lol!!!

My thoughts are below!! I have a tendency to look for the positive. I think David is saying we share the same sky. I like to think of that looking at the Moon and the Stars!! We are with him in Spirit as we are each other. We all live in different parts of the World but share a bond. The Symbolism of David not shutting the door has been helpful to many.
He has given us many gifts, with more to come. It’s hard to think of not concerts but the Music and fan community help. David has also left a Mgr to keep us posted. Much better than I had anticipated.

Kari said somewhere along the way that David was concerned about the song since he would be leaving. I think he decided to sing the song because he loved the song.
I find the song Happy and Sad at the same time. I feel close to David and his fans in Spirit. Many of us are far away in terms of where we live but are united with David’s music and him.
