Any picture that shows David’s more mature face is fantastic. I’ve looked of other fan pictures, etc that the eyes are that shade also. It’s him looking at the light that has some fans kinda thinking vampire. I just love the picture myself. Pudgy-faced vampire is kinda laughable. What I see is a very handsome chiseled face man. Can’t wait to listen to BEGIN.

Janey, totally understand. I know I love his moles showing, too, but I think it’s the lighting, not that they were air prushed off. I know that no matter what cover it would be, there is always going to be lots of fans that don’t like it for some reason. It really doesn’t matter, as long as they still buy the album, it’s all good.
I love the album cover. Definitely shows a mature, very handsome young man. Funny, I have never seen the things that some fans see in the photo. Think it’s gorgeous! Yes, his eyes do look lighter (because of the lighting in the photo I assume) but still beautiful. Those who have been fans of David from day one should know by now that he is a bit of a chameleon anyway, has looked slightly different in various photos. All wonderful though. It is one of the qualities of being angelic, don’t you know.
I find the photo very beautiful and I LOVE the color!! BUT David looks too different from his “old self” in my opinion – and it’s of course due to the light and maybe the angle of his head! Because he’s starring in the light, his eyes gets unnatural bright – making fans finding them “vampire-like” Even my niece didn’t recognize him – and she has met him LIVE, so……
I know Katie Moore said that the photo is what the kid looks like – and yes, if he is staring into a light it might be, but else I found his eyes way too bright – chameleon or not!
That said, I still think it’s the best album cover made so far He actually looks like the young man he has become!!
What is interesting, is that the album cover is not universally loved, and the division is deep. I’m not sure why the pros have such a difficult time capturing the “real” David when the armatures do such a great job of it. What I’d like to know is where the natural lines in his face went (thus giving his features definition) and if his eyes are washed out due to a natural response to light, it would be Katie’s job to put a little color back in. After all, she said she spent hours staring into his eyes, lol. I think we all agree that David’s best features are his eyes, lips and hair. Missing the mark on two of those elements, is legitimate cause for concern.
I’m curious too, if we didn’t already know that the album title was BEGIN., would we know that by the way it’s written? Also, I might have switched David’s name and the title. BEGIN. (all caps and a period) is such a bold statement and the impact is lost, or minimized in the way it’s portrayed above.
Having given those criticisms, I like the overall color and concept of the album. I also like the pose. Someday I’d like to see something more creative than a portrait used on a cover, something more artistic, depicting what’s inside.
I wish I could say that I like this picture, David always looks so good and he is very photogenic. But this time, I don’t like this pic of him at all. It doesn’t look like David to me! His eyes look odd, the way he is looking off to the side and his face does look a bit puffy. And his smile…one of his best features, is missing compleltey. Wish they would come up with another photo for this new album. No matter what they put on the album cover however , I am waiting anxiously for ‘BEGIN” to be released. I know it will be great, because I think David has the most beautiful voice in the world!

david archuleta is arguably one of the most photogenic people to ever walk this earth but u would not know it by looking at this strange photo. he really looks a bit like adam lambert but not in a good way
When I first saw the album cover, I thought to myself, “They are getting better.” All of the album covers, including “Forevermore” didn’t do him justice. I guess we are looking for that David “glow” to shine though and none of his album covers have achieved that yet. Unfortunately, we have seen the David “glow” in some photo, but they never seem to make it the his albums. Nevertheless, I am counting the days for the album to be released.
Naree, the one who used to take tons of David’s pictures always capture the best of David. David always looks handsome and gorgeous in Naree’s pictures. Just say it. Anyway, any picture of David will capture my attention. This is not the best of him, though he is still handsome in the picture. I’ll buy his new album definitely, even if only the picture of his silhouette on the cover.
