In David’s most recent video blog, a statement that he made really stood out to me.

“I can’t wait to bring back the person that I become”

Think about this statement in depth…

There are few things in life that change us as individuals.  One is going through a very difficult time such as the loss of a parent or child.  Another is the birth of your first child. In  David’s case, it is his mission trip.  Whatever the life changing event or time in our life is..it changes us right then and there so after we have gone through that experience we are a different person.  The critical piece of this is HOW are we changed…is it for the better or worse??

Sometimes we have to look “outside the box” and dive right into a new experience no matter how scary it may seem.  For example, there is NEVER the perfect time to have a baby but if everyone waited for that perfect time, the human population would be extinct!

David chose to look “outside the box” and go on a 2 year mission…away from everything he knows, all the comforts in his life, the people that make him feel safe and secure.  He must have been so scared!! But he took that leap…and it will change the person he is in a positive way as well as changing others around him.  If you have that chance to step into unfamiliar territory and experience life in a different way…take that step!!

Who knows…as your life changes …you may just make a difference in someone else’s life too.

I can’t wait to hear about YOUR life-changing experiences and we will wait and be surprised to see the person David has become…

  2. I know that it’s part David’s religion to go on a mission, but I’m getting the sense that for David it’s a personal journey that he feels he needs to make in order be complete. I think the problem he had with his vocal chords and then was able to sing again had a lot to do with this mission….thanking God for his blessings the only way he know how.

  3. There are times you go for it and get rewards.

There are times that you take that leap and do something outside the box and it might not turn out so well, BUT you often learn something in the process that turned out to be beneficial for the next time you took that big step, you just have to be patient as you never know when the “payback” will happen.
