‘American Idol’: Success despite loss

Charming tweens (and Filipinos)
Archuleta’s boy-next-door image won the hearts of millions of tweens in the US and abroad, including the Philippines. His first album, David Archuleta, sold more than 1.6 million in the US and internationally; his total album sales in the US is 1.1 million. Filipino fans, meanwhile, can’t get enough of him; he recently starred in a local TV show, TV5′s Nandito Ako. His career will be put on hold, though, as he becomes a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for 2 years.

Last but not least, CONGRATULATIONS to Brooke White and her husband Dave. They welcomed daughter London into their lives, May 24!

Brooke White Welcomes Daughter London

“Meet my lil’ London girl… Born last night, 8lbs 12oz 20 inches! I can’t stop staring at her, she is perfect, this is true love #grateful”

Known for her sweet vocals and joyful personality as a season 7 finalist on American Idol, Brooke White has a bundle of joy of her own.

White, 28, gave birth to daughter London, her first child with husband Dave Ray, on Thursday, May 24 at a Los Angeles-area hospital.

“Baby London is here,” an ecstatic Ray tells PEOPLE. “Our girl came in at 6:41 p.m. and is 8 lbs., 12 oz.!”

Mother and daughter “are both healthy as well,” Ray adds.

According to Ray, the name London is a nod to his parents and family, who are all from England and specifically the London area.

Both Ray and White visited there two years ago and fell in love with the city. Also important — White is fond of the nickname ‘Londy.’

“We’re so excited,” White told PEOPLE in January.”By the time the baby’s born, we’ll have been married eight years. I met Dave when I was 19 years old and we’ve been together a really long time, and we’ve always wanted to be parents.”

A year ago, White made her acting debut in the FOX TV movie Change of Plans. This year, she continued to record music with writing partner Jack Matranga as the duo Jack and White. Their latest EP, Undercover, will be released May 29 on iTunes.

Fans can follow White’s baby adventures on her blog, Brookie Babble.

  2. It’s cool that TV 5 is coming to the states but kinda disappointing that it is on Dish, of course I have Direct TV so I guess I’ll have to wait for the DVD. Maybe by some small miracle Direct TV will pick it up too, that would be awesome. Anyway I just want to say that I am so thankful for these wonderful David websites, Fanscene and FOD, thank you guys for giving us our daily David fix still, it’s much appreciated!
    Have a nice weekend everyone!

    • Awwww, cq#DA2014, you’re welcome, too. Thanks!

And a BIG FAT YESSSS to album spazzing. Have you thought about the idea how lucky we are that David continues to make albums and not just singles and EPs? I looove albums. I love how there is always some song that would not have a home if it weren’t for the artist giving it one on an album.

  5. Of course, I look forward to the new album as well, but meanwhile, I am really loving “Forevermore”. I believe its my favorite album so far. My most favorite song on the album is You Are My Song, but also Wherever You Are, followed by all the rest.

Looking forward to the DVD of Nandito Ako…..although I’ve seen all the parts that have been put out there. I have felt that David’s acting is very good and I was impressed. It was better than I had even expected. I did, however, feel that an awful lot of the dialog is exremely repetitive

    What are your thoughts?
