David Archuleta is pleased to announce the title and release date of his new album. The album is titled BEGIN., and is set for release in the US on August 7, 2012.
BEGIN. will be a mix of cover songs and original tracks. It is David’s fifth solo album after his debut record “David Archuleta”, the holiday album “Christmas From The Heart”, the sophomore record “The Other Side Of Down”, and the OPM album “Forevermore”.

This is thrilling news!!! But I’m confused – how is this possible when he’s supposed to be busy on his mission for the next few years? I wasn’t expecting him to release anything new until at least 2014! Did he record this at the same time as Forevermore? Or is this going to be the same songs that are on Forevermore except with a different album title for a US release? I hope not…

Julie, lol. He recorded this the last 3 weeks before he left. AFS has posted vids, photos and tweets about it for the last 2 months. The post also says it’s 11 songs, including covers and original material. That indicates that it is not a US release of Forevermore but an entirely new album.
