The theme this week 2 years ago on American Idol was “Songs by Neil Diamond.” Neil Diamond, who was also the mentor that week, was very impressed with David Archuleta. He called him a prodigy. Each of the 5 remaining contestants was asked to sing 2 songs. David performed “Sweet Caroline” and “America.”
RESULTS SHOW
For the Top 5 Week results show, the Season 7 finalists performed a medley of Neil Diamond songs. Remember the David Archuleta sandwich? The Ford music video “Catch the Wind” had an environmental message. And the guest performer was Natasha Bedingfield who after singing her hit song “Pocketful of Sunshine” rushed over to the sofa to give David a big smoocheroo!
I absolutely loved Natasha’s performance of “Pocketful of Sunshine” that night, so here it is in full. It’ll give you an excuse to watch her kiss and hug David again.
