While it wasn’t our intent to have MCL comment on each individual song in each city, one thing led to another, and she did, missing only one performance. She, along with all of us were so taken by the nuances and change-ups in every show, they she couldn’t help but make note of it. I can still recall which version of which song he did in a certain city. Maybe we should do a contest sometime? Post a few audios and guess which performance it was from? Bragging rights (and maybe a signed T-shirt) to the winner!
What say you, Cathy?
Which leads me to another topic.
Many of my fan/friends and other sites that I visit daily have their own way of tracking David’s time over the next 2 years. I noticed I was having a really strong reaction to that. There was something jarring about seeing the number of days left, the number of days he was gone, however it was presented, my reaction was so negative that I can no longer visit those sites or follow those fans on twitter.
A couple of thoughts occurred to me. David is not incarcerated. He left on his own free will and from his tweet via Kari last week, he is having a marvelous time. In addition, we have no idea when he’ll return or what David will want to do when he gets back. While reading a missionary blog the other night (unrelated to David) a mom asked her son what he wanted in his care package and her son replied, “6 more months here.”
I actually googled “how to make time go faster” last night and the results supported my thinking. The question was asked by pregnant women waiting for their babies and by military wives waiting for their deployed husbands to return. The way to make time go by faster is to stay in the present and to not count the days. Having done that myself the last few days, I know it works best for me.
How about for you?
