david archuleta

It started with a young man working as a techy at the Murray Amphitheater. People who knew him, knew him as a sweet, quiet young man who loved to help people. He was a young man who would break out in song…always…when something triggered a lyric lying dormant in his musical soul.—-

Fast forward.>>>>>>>>>> to 2012.

—-Little did his army of fans know that their attraction to this young singer would bring such positive changes to their lives,…fill some empty holes in their hearts …..and set them up for years of fun, laughter, friendships, love, caring, giving and growing. For 4 years now…this one person has done all of that …and more.

As I woke up this morning…the first thing I was thinking about was David. I am sure I was not alone.
David has captured a piece of all of our hearts….and he will have it with him as he makes his most important journey. I am not family…or a friend. I am not even one of the fans that David knows. My support for David, however, has never waivered…in anything he has said, or anything he has done. His decision to go on his mission is no different. I am so happy and proud that he is taking this time to follow his heart and live for himself. There is no question that I will miss him and shed more tears for him. But like any of the people we love in our lives….we only want them to be happy. I am sure he will have some hard adjustments to make. The sacrifices he is making are huge. However, there is no one that I could imagine who will take on the challenges he faces with more grace , humility, and peace than David. He handles everything with “class”, and I know this will be no different.

David will be an amazing missionary. The impact he will have on everyone he touches …is something we all have felt in some way. I am excited that many more lives will be enriched by David’s heart.

I will think about him and pray for him each and every day. I have followed David now for 4 years, and I will be here waiting for his return. He has my love, but more importantly my utmost respect. As long as he keeps that beautiful smile on his face , a song lurking in his musical soul, and God in his heart, his mission will bring him so much happiness.
