David Archuleta and Kurt after recording a couple of songs

Producing David Archuleta via computer remote
I had a few moments to spare this morning so I decided to stop by Kurt’s site. One thing led to another (as it often does on the net) and I came across a few gems. First, CLICK HERE and have a listen to “On Pastel Wing”. I immediately thought of @pastelpastel and tweeted the link to her. I hope she loves it as much as I do. It was the perfect piece to listen to this Easter Sunday morning.
I also found a couple of pictures. I believe both photos are from the recording of Christmas From The Heart.
I then scooted over to Kurt’s Facebook and saw this comment he posted last Friday:
Kurt posted pictures of his time with David in the recording studio, the day before David left on his mission. CLICK HERE to view them if you missed them the first time around.
Here are some quotes from Kurt as posted on his Facebook:
Before David left on his mission, John Hancock and I were asked to produce a new CD of classic tunes.
He’s one talented guy (talking about the newly-shorned singer on the right). Anxious sometime soon to announce the particulars of what we were doing. In the meantime, “Via con Dios” to him. —
no – not “Prayer of the Children” – tho’ he does a really great version. (when asked if they were recording POTC)
Since someone brought up Prayer of The Children (written and composed by Kurt) here’s a pretty spectacular version from Cleveland, CFTH Tour:

Classic tunes! Can’t wait to hear them.

How long do we have to wait for these classic tunes??
I’m not a very patient guy, lol

I think the first one is from the 1st album for Falling and the 2nd is CFTH for HYAMLC. Remember D & C couldn’t meet up to record.

I saw Kari told somebody fall release for the US CD which I think is great. At least we’ll have 6 months of waiting done and a fall release is a good time to get up holiday buyers.

What if Kurt and friends will compose ultimate great ballad songs for DA to record upon his return. In 2 yrs theyll be able to create more than an album. And then DA will perform this with the biggest Symphony Orcestra in town. Wow!!! Its an ultimate welcoming move for DA.

Maybe one disco song for every album?

Or, maybe two?

I love this quote from Kurt (as posted on his FB, the last day he recorded with David), “Today’s studio session reminds me just why I got into the recording biz. Good musicians. Great friends.”
Prior to that, Kurt warned everyone that he didn’t have much sleep the night before, “Up late tonight orchestrating a few tunes for tomorrow’s string session. If I have to stay up late tonight – at least I’m doing music. “Up late” followed by “up early” does not a happy composer make. Beware string players playing with me this morning!”
