I can’t tell you how special it’s been being able to come back here and do this Christmas tour and sing these songs that just mean a lot to me and to have all of you here tonight with us. There’s no place like home. I always say that. Looking back through these last few years and all the support we’ve had and all the amazing experiences we’ve had and I’ve had, I feel very blessed in my life. While I’m home in front of you guys here tonight, I would like to make a special announcement that I’ve chosen to serve a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It’s not because someone told me that I was supposed to do it, not because that I no longer want to do music anymore, but it’s because it’s the feeling that I felt that I need to do next in my life. It’s just the same feeling that I’ve always followed, tried to follow, in my life. It’s the feeling that’s allowed me to have the opportunities I’ve had, the challenges I’ve had to overcome, and the blessings, too. I’ve learned to trust that feeling and I’ve learned that I need to answer when it calls. That is the reason why I know that I need to do this in my life. I just wanted to thank you guys. I’ll be going the first half of next year. I just wanted announce that while I was home here in front of you guys because you mean so much to me. Thank you so much.

This is very bittersweet for me but I am SO proud of him. Again he continues to inspire me, this time by being so brave and making a decision to choose the more difficult road. I’m a Christian, not a Mormon but he’s an amazing example of someone who puts God first in their lives and chooses to do what he feels is God’s will no matter how hard it may seem to be. He’s always teaching me things but this seems to be the final and most important one.

I will miss David so much. But I have to say, I have never been more proud of anyone ever than I am of David right now.
He is an outstandingly wonderful example of knowing what is right, and acting accordingly. My brain and my heart is always in conflict. I admire David for his sense of clarity and purpose.
I am an emotional mess, but I am happy for him, and I will think of him and this decision he has made the next time I am at a crossroads.

David is the only singer or celebrity whom I follow fervently, not because he is handsome and can sing so very well. But he has something in him that is different, He has the child-like faith in God. It shows in his face. I am blessed for having the opportunity to watch his 2 concerts and 1 CD promo concert here in the Philippines. And I am glad that I had 2 CDs signed by him and one of them is CFTH album since he loves Christmas songs. I heard the news from the radio in the taxi I rode on my way home today when the DJ said something the Archies will miss him because of his decision to be a missionary. When I got home, I immediately opened the computer and I felt sad that I will miss him. The more I will treasure all his CDs and his book. I do not know if LDS like David is allowed to do blog for his fans, friend or family and how often. Nevertheless, David, I will give you this Bible verses to keep by when you are on your mission field: But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness. and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow. for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.- Matthew 6:33-34. David, when you come back from mission and decided once again to sing and tour, I will be waiting here with open arms. I will always pray for your safety and also pray for your family. Jesus loves you.
To this site and all the loving David fan site including all the fans that go to his shows and make videos for us to watch. You are truly dedicated fans that we and David will thank forever. I hope you will still make you sites active while waiting for his decision to return.

There is a reason why we took notice of this incredible young man who at age 16 drew us all in when he sang on American Idol. He is a fascination. He is not your garden variety pop star. He is more than that, he has a substance that many of his peers just dont have. He is guided by something greater than greed or the need for fame. This is the type of person and character that lasts FOREVER. Two years is just a blink of an eye..Two years ago I was coming home from his CFTH concert in SLC. Seems like yesterday.
David, I wish you only good things and support whatever decisions you make for your life and the life of others. You are a tremendous singer, but it is your spirit filled decisions that make the true difference in your life and ours. Much respect, Elder Archuleta. Jana__OR

I’m still so sad about David’s decision – well I’m happy for him of course! If he doesn’t go on his mission, he will ask himself for the rest of his life if that was the right decision! If not David should go – who should then? He’s so devoted to his faith – we all know that!! So he has my endless support and respect in this next journey in his life!
So why am I sad? Because I’m selfish – I’m surprised that it affects me as much as it does – I watched him announce his plans on a live stream – and I saw him cry – he made me cry, and still does! My daily inspiration will be gone for a while, I’ll miss his daily tweets, his monthly rambling vlogs – there will be a huge gap in my daily life while he’s gone – and we don’t even know if he’ll be back sharing his singing gift with us again!
But I hope & pray – and I’ll watch his videos over and over! And then I collect even more pictures – something I love to do – and make a new collage every month to remind me of how much he means to me!
I know he’ll be back and he knows we’re here waiting for him – I’ll leave a candle in my window for him – you should do the same ♥ ツ
