“Everyday Holds The Possibility Of A Miracle”…

Hi Fan Scene Readers!!

I was having dinner at a local restaurant several weeks ago and a sign there caught my eye that said “Everyday Holds The Possibility Of A Miracle” and I thought to myself…hmmmm…I believe that’s true!! I also believe that there are all kinds of miracles and that each can be categorized relative to the person/situation that surrounds that miracle…and while some miracles are really big and literally a matter of life and death – others may seem small and inconsequential in the scheme of life, but, nonetheless important to the person(s) affected by them. So, now, as I’m sitting here writing this, I’m also thinking that I might just need a bit of a miracle and here’s the reason why…I recently began a petition drive meant to attract the attention of management at the Turning Stone Casino & Resort in Verona, NY, as well as, that of David and his management team relative to what I believe would be a perfect match for one of David’s fabulous concerts!!

For the longest time I have hoped that, at some point, David would perform in concert at the Turning Stone which is located in Verona, NY about 20 minutes from where I live and smack dab in the center of New York State. The showroom has a capacity of 750 while The Event Center there holds 5,000 people. In my opinion,The Showroom would be an ideal site because there is a totally unobstructed view of whoever is performing on stage there along with its’ intimate sort of atmosphere, but, The Event Center would be just awesome, too!! Amongst those who have performed at either are Carrie Underwood, Jordin Sparks, Kelly Clarkson, Fergie, Mariah Carey, Gwen Stefani, No Doubt, Alicia Keys, Stevie Wonder, Josh Groban, Michael Buble, Chicago and Earth, Wind & Fire, to name, but a few!!

Well, back on Sunday, June 26th, I was hanging out just thinking about David’s awesome music (having attended his concert in Myrtle Beach just a month before) and I thought – well, why don’t I just call Turning Point to inquire as to whether a concert feauring David was a possibility…Anyway, I called and was able to leave a voice mail message for the talent manager there, Ms.Torrey. The next day, during my lunch hour, I called again (ok, I was sort of anxious lol) and was connected directly to her. We talked briefly and she told me that there had been interest expressed by Casino patrons and concert goers with regard to a concert featuring David. She asked if I represented him – a question which I truly did not expect and being the honest person that I am, I , of course, said “no”…anyway, totally taken aback by her question and not knowing what I should say next (it was really a “duh”, what were you thinking moment on my part lol) – the conversation ended and I thanked her for her time and put my cell phone back in my purse and I returned to work. It immediately occurred to me, however, – what if I had said “yes” – that I did represent David – might a negotiation for a concert have followed lol – and I haven’t been able to get that thought out of my mind ever since!!

Anyway (again with the “anyway” lol), I just couldn’t let go of this so…I began to think about what I could and should do next and although it took me a while to decide on my course of action – two weeks ago I began to circulate a petition which reads as follows: We, the undersigned, respectfully request that the Turning Stone Casino & Resort present a concert featuring David Archuleta:

My hope is that I will succeed in getting enough signatures – lots of signatures (and we all know that there’s strength in numbers) to further pique the interest of the talent manager there and of David and his management team, and for those of you who have read any of my previous posts – well, you know how determined I can be lol!! (((Manager’s note – yes we do Sharon!))) The fact that so many people have been willing to sign my petition(s) just gives me hope and although I might be asking for a bit of a miracle – I really believe that miracles do happen and so, David – if wishes were dreams and dreams all came true, I’d wish for my miracle – to see and hear you perform at the Turning Stone Casino & Resort in Verona, NY!!

  1. Sharon: You go girl!!! I love your go-getter spirit. I’d sign if I didn’t live so far away on the West Coast. Heck, I’d sign your petition in any event if I could somehow transport myself there to do so!

Just a thought: Perhaps you could spend a weekend afternoon at a nearby mall to collect signatures – or anywhere else with a lot of people.

Note to David’s posse: Call The Turning Stone in Verona, New York. It sounds like they are interested in having David perform there.

  2. Do we have to do something more than just call to have David perform at The Turning Stone?? David Prob has to decide right??

  3. David’s booking agent is listed on the OS. Maybe you should put the info there. :)

  4. Hi Katheryn!!
Thank you so much for your kind words of encouragement!! I’m hoping to go to the New York State Fair this weekend (if all goes according to plan), where I will proudly wear one of my “David” t-shirts (not sure whether to go with my “I Love David Archuleta” t-shirt or one with a picture of his angelic face on it lol) – I’m sure hoping to attract attention and, therefore, possible petition signers there!! My mother always taught me “nothing ventured, nothing gained” – so why not give this petition process a try and see what happens, right lol??? Thank you for the note to “David’s posse”, too – based upon my conversation with the talent manager at the Turning Stone, I’m hopeful that numerous calls there might be helpful!!

  5. Hi Victoria!!
I see this as being part of a two-fold process – to garner the attention of both David & his management team, as well as, that of the management team at the Turning Stone…I did some research and basically I learned that it is generally the artist or his/her management that would contact staff at the Casino about performing there – that’s probably why I was asked if I “represented” David lol…so, I’m hoping to draw David’s attention to the Turning Stone (it’s a great place) with the hope that we can make this happen, somehow!!! I’ve just got to try!!!

    • Sharon: By saying “David’s posse” I was actually referring to his management team and/or booking agent, so you and I are on the same wavelength here! I hope they learn about this venue. It has hosted some top-notch artists.

  7. Hi archiefandoc!!
Thank you for the “G” in Sharon G is for Go-Getter – makes me feel so very productive!! I’ve come to realize that “trying” is so very important – regardless of the outcome – who knows how different our lives might be if we never tried…!!! And, being a go-getter in so far as David is concerned has brought me such joy and has been my absolute pleasure!!

  8. Just consider whether or not David wants to perform there or will be able to for whatever reason. The suggestion to contact through the OS is the best imo. Not sure if collecting signatures is really necessary.

  9. Hi Sally!!
Thanks for your feedback!! You’re right in so far as, ultimately, David will choose where he would like to perform, but I believe that showing him that there is genuine interest here is just a good thing and getting signatures is just one way of doing that!! I’ve had the opportunity to speak to many people about David as a result of doing this and I think that’s a good thing, as well… It can’t hurt lol!! And, making contact through the OS is part of the plan!!

    • Sony Asia specifically stated that the reason they took the unprecedented step of hosting David’s concert in Malaysia was due to fan demand. Malaysian fans emailed them, posted comments on Facebook, Twitter, etc. Of course, there is a fine line between showing enthusiasm and being annoying, but unfortunately I think too many of us were scared off by the warnings of the Open House Party radio show a few years back. Fans of other Idols also received a similar warning from those guys but haven’t let it dampen their efforts on promotion. Current popular music acts tend to enjoy lots of fan support. Without it, I doubt they would be as successful.

  10. Hi Katheryn!!
I vividly remember that Open House Party “thing” as I was one of the fans who called that night – what a disappointment – I was so confused – baffled really – after all – it is supposed to be an all request show!! The Sony Asia/Malaysia concert just goes to show that fan support does matter – so I’m willing to prove to David that he has many fans here and that we’d love to have him come to beautiful central New York to bless us with one of his fabulous concerts!! (And, the food here is fabulous, too, David lol) By the way, hat’s off to David’s fans in Malaysia for the awesome level of support that they’ve given him!! Now back to my latest mission… the way that I look at my little petition drive is – what do I have to lose – I get to do something that I love to do – to promote David and his music so it’s all good (and I promise not to be annoying lol)!!!
