David Archuleta shows you don´t need to win American Idol to succeed!

David Archuleta

I will never get tired of saying this so here we go: David Archuleta SHOULD have won his season of American Idol, and you wanna know why? Well… For that I will use have to quote New York Daily News:
“Archuleta is a true ‘Idol’ success story. Coming in as the runner-up behind David Cook, Archuleta is living proof that you don’t need to win the title to be successful. The Honduran cutie released his first single, ‘Crush’ in 2008 and a self-titled album that same year. His second album, ‘The Other Side of Down’ came out in 2010. Archuleta is all over the radio with his hits like ‘Something ‘Bout Love.”
And as David, I will say that Adam Lambert should have won, as well, his season on Idol, because really… Who even remembers the name of the actual winner for that season?
((ok, Mr. Madetobenow – a lot of Archu-fans are also Kris Allen fans))

The only thing I would say is that American radio NEEDS to get more David Archuleta songs on the radio ASAP, don’t you agree? Maybe they could play “Everything And More” more often I’d say…

  1. Hey! Thanks a lot for the feature. As I said on the post, American radio really NEEDS to hear more of David Archuleta!!! A lot of his songs are way better than some tracks that are part of the mainstream music, but for some reason he’s not getting that much airplay. But hopefully, everything will change for the better pretty soon…

Oh, and about the Kris Allen thing (thanks for reminding me the name), it’s just that I always thought Adam had more potential to be a really American Idol, you just gotta hear songs of him like “Outlaws Of Love” ( http://www.madetobenow.com/2011/07/adam-lambert-premieres-new-track.html ) to see that he has that “it” fractor… Bottom line: I did not mean to hate :D It’s all about love for music!

    • Art, I’m glad that you recognize David’s talent. He’s not getting much airplay because he has no promotion. It’s not talent so much as PR and promotion that win you airplay. Here’s an interesting article posted on NPR regarding what it takes to create a hit song. Eye opening stuff!

By the way, “Everything And More” is doing very well in Asia. Even though David left the soon-to-be defunct Jive, Sony (the parent label) is still promoting The Other Side of Down in that part of the world, having launched the Asian Tour Edition from which the song comes from.

  2. Art,

I appreciate your kind words about David and his music, and I too am hoping things change very soon, and David gets alot more airplay. He deserves that! I’ve already heard Adam’s “Outlaws of Love.” What an incredible song. I give Adam huge kudos for being brave enough to wite and record such a song. It’s supposed to be on his upcoming album, and I’m looking very forward to that. I voted up a storm for both David and Adam during their Idol days. I believe they are the best male singers that show has ever seen, and two of the finest in the music industry. Adam’s been getting quite a bit of airplay, which is awesome, but it’s high time David does as well!! Between Adam and David, my favorite is and always will be David, though!
