David is so self-aware, reflective, vulnerably honest…that was the most open I’ve heard him be about exactly how very shy he was. But once again he shares that to encourage others and now “pays it forward” in reaching out to others who might feel shy or “on the outside looking in”, while setting the example to his many fans to be aware and do the same. Just more of why we love and respect him.
And regarding this latest cd…(and I’m hoping his brave moves and the consequent numbers don’t get him into label trouble)…I commend his standing up for his art and what he wants to do with it…especially considering how “against type” that is for him. To me…he accomplished what he set out to do, and created a cd I love, find both personal and commercially appealing…and groundbreaking in this day and age when everything is so formulaic…to stick to your guns and follow your vision must be tough and risky career-wise.
Your fans “get it”, David….and want you to follow your musical heart always….that’s where your best stuff comes from. Go David!
