Finally! The big news from Jive Records: “*drum roll* please. Stay tuned bc @DavidArchie’s new single will be available exclusively on DavidArchuleta.com July 13th! AND @DavidArchie’s single will be on iTunes on July 20th! Mark your calendars!”
Jive/Sony probably wants to capitalize on the fact that David has a huge fan base. Selling the single at the official site for the initial week will maximize their bottom line since they won’t have to go through the iTunes middleman. They undoubtedly remember how extraordinarily well “Crush” did during it’s debut week, so naturally they want a bigger piece of the action. iTunes takes a big chunk out of that $1.29. Makes sense to me. If it makes more money for the label, then it makes more money for David. So I’m all for it.

And, as an added bonus, it will drive traffic to the official website which could use some help with an Alexa Traffic Rank of 507,108 compared to, say, davidcookofficial with a 312,407. (The lower the number the better.)
