Extra is asking who Oprah Winfrey should have on her talk show for the last guest. My first thought was David Archuleta, he deserves to be on The Oprah Show. David is a very talented, down to earth, humble person. So many words can describe him. He has writen and published his own book, had hit songs, gone on tours, won StarSearch, and was the runner-up on American Idol all before his 19th birthday. So please put David Archuleta on the Oprah show, he deserves it.

I’m always happy to see David appear on any TV show.

I think Oprah should have invited David to be on her show a long time ago. At this point, it’s not one of my wishes for David. I don’t relish the fact that we have to “beg” Oprah to have David on her show.
Would it be great for David? Yes. Any time David appears on TV is great. Would it be a coup for David? In my opinion, it would be if Oprah didn’t have to be bombarded with our requests on behalf of David. In my very humble opinion, it’s Oprah’s audience’s loss these last two years not to have had the distinct HONOR to see one of the most beautiful (inside & out) human beings alive today.
Oprah is a very influential person who some say has the power to “make or break” a celebrity. She knows about David. It’s her job to know about David. If she has not seen fit to invite this incredible individual to be on her show, then all I can think of is that she must think David does not “need” her influence and perhaps she’s afraid David may have too much of an influence on HER. Oprah’s image is of “goodness, generosity & love for humanity”, an image it took her years & years to achieve. David was born with these traits which come as naturally to him as breathing, I have to wonder if it may be just too much “Light” for Oprah.
If Oprah opens her eyes & sees what a coup it would be for her show to have David a guest, of course I would watch! Of course I would be happy & excited for David (& for myself) as I am every time he’s on TV! But I don’t feel we should have to “beg” Oprah on David’s behalf.
In my humble opinion, of course.

100% agree with you Silverfox. David’s God is more powerful than Oprah and He will make a way.

I’m catching up on some older DA Google Alerts and came across this and just had to respond “better late than never”….I so agree with Silverfox. I’ve given this much thought before, as have many a David fan, and it’s been discussed on blogs. I’ve too have wondered why O never saw fit to back David, as I know she (and/or her producers are up on the Idols each year, and had Cook on after Season 7, as well as “gushed” over Adam last year.)
But now, I also am “over the Oprah” thing for him…tho’ of course I’d be happy for him if he got the oppourtunity and was thrilled by it. I came to the same conclusion….I wondered if in fact David’s star was just a little too bright for Queen O…after all….among his own generation he kind of has a similar charismatic influence over his fans, and the same kind of potential to influence the culture as O has had. Don’t know for the life of me what was behind the obvious decision that he “wasn’t important enough” or something unknown behind the scenes that causes a conflict of some kind.
Now..I don’t even wish for the big “O-machine” kind of “I’ve discovered and am behind him” endorsement anymore….the time has past and he does not need that. No Oprah-branding needed, tku.
His star will rise with his own mega-watt “machine”…the one that is just, sincerely, pure-gold David Archuleta.
