Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers out there!
Hope everyone has a great Sunday with those great father figures.
From Original Article: David Archuleta 18 years in the Making:
David’s earliest musical influences came from none other than his family. As a child, he was exposed to diverse genres of music, ranging from Latin music on his mother Lupe’s side as he watched her sing at events, to jazz music from his father Jeff’s collection. He loved listening to gospel, pop, pop-rock, R&B and “soulful” music and enjoyed Broadway musicals as well.
Jeff realized David had talent when he was 4 or 5, when Lupe taught him to play “The Little Drummer Boy” and a song from church on the piano. In February 1997, when David was just six years old, the family moved to Sandy, Utah. While the adults unpacked, little David learned several songs from a video of the Broadway musical “Les Miserables”. When his parents returned, they found, to their amazement, that David had memorized the songs and were belting them out, in tune, complete with cockney accent.
