AFD — LOL to your remarks! No, I wouldn’t particularly like to hear David “sing” rap music — I’d make somewhat different selections for him, but we’ll have to see what exactly he chooses to do. (Well, along with input from the record label…)

Could not agree with youo more Ardy! I add in Johnny Mathis to your group of balladeers.
The bonus tracks on the debut album are some of the best – and guess who wrote or co-wrote them.

I so hope you do get to hear David in concert — there is nothing like listening to him live, the videos do not even come close to capturing that voice.

I also love to hear David sing ballads – songs with heartfelt meaning; however, throwing in a few uptempo, fun songs is important for variety during a live show and also to expand fan base. Harkening back to the days of such singers as Perry Como and Andy Williams, both of TV and music fame, many of their hits were uptempo songs but both were known for singing ballads.

Having said that, hopefully the producers will not overproduce his next pop album — whenever they do, it just saps the quality right out of his voice which is such a shame because David has such a quality voice, especially when compared to many of his contemporaries. Also, hopefully Jive will allow better songs on the next pop album — many of the BONUS TRACKS should have replaced about 3-4 song that really were not David.

I’ve not had the privilege of seeing David in concert yet, but I’m so much looking forward to it. He is one of those singers (like Como and Williams) that sound better live than on record — the true test of a great singer. So far, his scheduled stops and my proximity to them haven’t worked out yet.

I know you weren’t talking to me, AFD, but I’m going to answer that last question. No, don’t want to hear David singing rap music. David should sing ballads, songs like he sang on Idol. Those were the songs everybody loved. For the young girls, if David sings it, they will love it. Right, girls?

I attended the Anaheim concert and David was just OUTSTANDING. I only wish I can attend another concert soon. My advice to you all is to try hard to get to see David during this tour, you will not be disappointed. He was GREAT.
