Ding Dong, Ding Dong – The David Archuleta Christmas Tour is Here!
David Archuleta kicks off his holiday tour ‘Christmas from the Heart’ Tuesday (11/24) in his home state of Utah. (THAT IS TODAY!!!!!!) The American Idol runner up from Season 7 will play two consecutive nights in his native Utah before taking the ‘From the Heart’ show on the road. Archuleta will visit 17 cities during the month long tour. The tour ends in Westbury, New York on December 20. Archuleta will be joined on tour by opening act Benton Paul.
Monday, the 18 year old Archuleta tweeted, “Rehearsing the day before the first shows in Salt Lake! So excited for the 2 hometown shows! Anyone coming to Abravanel Hall??” But we’re hoping he’s not working too hard ahead of opening night tomorrow. David also revealed, “My voice is a little worn out. It was fine until I had a bunch of convos last night lol. Will take it easy in rehearsals today!”
The then-16 year old Archuleta became an overnight sensation during his impressive run on American Idol. A fan favorite throughout the competition, Archuleta took second place in a show-ending shocker to the very talented, older, and more experienced David Cook.
Archuleta’s tour follows his very successful holiday album Christmas from the Heart which was released in October 2009.

I can’t believe how quickly this tour seemed to arrive. I remember having my little nervous meltdowns waiting for what seemed like an eternity to get a tour schedule. They seemed to come out in dribs and drabs.
I had the 3 rescheduled summer shows to attend the same time these tickets were finally announced and going on sale. Talk about stress. But all’s well that ends well.
Now it seems I’ve blinked, and poof.. David kicks off TONIGHT !!!!
I’m so excited for him. I hope he’s not nervous, cause he’s going to be just fantastic.
Can’t WAIT !!!

Wow Dawn – I did not know that you had 3 of the rescheduled shows from the summer tour – the day those were cancelled before reschedules were announced must have been horrendous!

I literally shed tears I was so sad, but by the next morning, and it was confirmed the shows were in fact rescheduled, I just changed some reservations and moved along as planned originally.
I’m like a crazy person when I know he’s coming near me, and I focus on the logistics of getting there.. it’s nuts. I’ve never been this passionate about anything in my life, but let David come to town.. holy moly.. all bets are off. Until I actually have confirmations in hand that my tickets are secure… I don’t exhale.
Now I wish upon wish that he closes the show tonight with Melodies of Christmas. I just think that is the perfect song to close the show with… whaddya think?

I can poke around the neighorhoods to see if anyone I know is going.
I’m having visions of Melodies of Christmas with an accapella ending. GAH .. I’m gonna make myself nuts.
