David Archuleta is MY Edward Cullen

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably heard about the Twilight book series and movies, right?
I went to see the movie New Moon last night, which is the second book (and movie) in the Twilight series. It was opening night, and it was CRAZY, filled with teens wearing Twilight, Team Edward and Team Jacob shirts. (Okay, so WHAT if my 40-something friend Liz had a Team Jacob shirt on too.) Now, I admit that I LOVE the Twilight books. I have never sped-read my way through a book series like that before.

Coincidentally, I started reading the Twilight books around the same time that my ODD was FULL-BLOWN. The more I read about Edward, the main vampire character, the more I began to picture him as David. Honestly, he fits the description perfectly. Beautiful? Check. Exceptionally smooth, flawless, pale skin? Check. A melodic, enchanting voice? Check. Mesmerizing eyes that trap you like a deer in headlights? Check. Despite being a vampire, a heart of gold? Check. So, armed with my vision of David as Edward, off I went to see Twilight and New Moon. And, I gotta tell ya, no disrespect to Rob Pattinson, but he is NOT Edward, not in my eyes.

So there I sat for two hours, eating my GINORMOUS bag of buttered popcorn, and picturing David Archuleta as Edward Cullen. Hmm.. there are still a couple of Twilight movies to be made. Maybe someone should e-mail author Stephanie Meyer some David pics. While I don’t think David has a shot at being cast as Edward at this point.. perhaps he could do a cameo? Maybe a vampire cousin from out of state? ;)

What do you think? Who is better vampire material? Rob, or David?

  3. Oh no, I like it. Did I seem disapproving? *makes note to self to be more emotive in comments* :)

    My granddaughter is a big Twilight fan. She has Pattison’s poster next to David’s summer tour poster. We went saw “Twilight” together and she has avidly read and can quote page and line from each of the books.

    What song would David sing if he made an appearance in the next Twilight series Movie? Maybe Annie Lennox’s “Love Song for a Vampire?”

  5. Rob Pattinson who ??

    Seriously — I was standing in line outside the Bonnie Hunt show (line started to fill up at 7:30 am for a show that was taped at 4 pm m- lol) and this guy came out of the studio gate — about 3 girls started to scream and ran up to him and got autographs.

    Not one of the remaining 100 plus people were willing to get out of line…..

  8. Lol, was talking to a friend about how a lot of David fans who also happen to be Twilight fans prefer David over Edward. I’m not sure if David would pull off the “Edward Effect” but I’m more than sure that he can pull off the Twilight Vampire” effect. That’s why I created the David as a vampire edit:

  12. Haha I am in love with Twilight series and have been since 2005! David is my Edward Cullen. Acutually when I read the books I thought of David being Seth Clearwater since here read the description: Seth is supposed to be a cheerful, kind, honest and pure. The only thing is David has to be tanner and a bit more muscular lol. But I really wanted Waiting for Yesterday to be in New Moon I means its totally Jacob and Bella’s song!
