David Archuleta’s Charity Involvement With Lisa Lopes Foundation and AFAC Making News in Honduras
Querida familia y amigo(a)s:

Dear Family and Friends,
Using Fan Scene’s page as reference, I have written a note to the Honduran media regarding David’s support of the Lisa Lopes Foundation for the second time. The first time was in 2004 when he personally visited La Ceiba and participated in various activities including the Gran Carnival.
I have the conviction that David’s support to this Foundation as well as “Angels For A Cause” will be greatly appreciated by the Honduran people and will be favorably commented by the newspapers and radio in our country.
Thank you to the creators of Fan Scene, Mirta and everyone involved for such a lovely news publication that we are also working on (Children and friends of El Progreso.)
I am sending you this article that was posted on “El Sampedrano” an on line newspaper. The article was written by Santos Galvez a Journalist in the city of San Pedro Sula, Honduras.
A colleague and friend of ours, he (Santos Galve) endorses David’s decision to unite once again for the benefit of this Humanitarian cause. We are thankful of Journalist Galvez’s deference to the Archuleta family and David’s promoters.

English translation of Santos Galve’s article:
DAVID ARCHULETA HAS UNITED WITH THE LISA LOPES FOUNDATION TO HELP THE CHILDREN OF HONDURAS
David Archuleta, the Honduran-American singer united with the Lisa Lopes Foundation to benefit fellow countryman. The young unselfish artist who wishes no ill will to our country, unlike some back yard politicians, has joined this campaign that will benefit people with little or no means. Just as he has done for other countries, through the support of “Angels For A Cause” organization, Archuleta has gotten together for the second time with The Lisa Lopes Foundation in aid of the Honduran children.
The first time was back in 2003 when David was 13 years old. He had recently been named the winner of “Star Search” in the juvenile division. David whose mother is from Honduras, visited La Ceiba and passed by unnoticed back then. Now a days he is known as the contestant of the “American Idol” show in which he was honored with Runner Up position. “Archuleta continues to be aware of his roots” says his grandfather, the colleague Journalist Wilfredo Mayorga Alonso who now resides in the United States.
The family and friends of Lisa Lopes created the Foundation with her name after she passed away in a traffic accident in the city of La Ceiba, Atlantida.
* Thanks to David’s Grandfather, Wilfredo, for the information – and Mirta for the English translation.

Abrazos Sr. Mayorga.
Thanks to “Angel For A Cause” for promoting this cause; to Mirta for the translation, and to AFS for posting.
Dios los bendiga a todos! God bless you!

I’m sure David and his family are very happy for this wonderful opportunity to serve and help their people. I met David’s Grandparents during a VIP in Orlando in August, and his Grandfather tried to express to me his love and admiration for David. Of course, words were not necessary ~ I could see the love in his eyes! I am not Spanish but Portuguese, so I did somnewhat understand what he was saying. It was so sweet. I’m sure David’s whole family is overwhelmed when they see him on stage, sharing his God-given talent. This was my first time meeting David face-to-face, and I’m so happy I got to meet a part of the family he loves so much.

Once again AFAC allows us the honor of making a difference in the lives of children in need in David’s name. What better gift can we give David…these children in Honduras and India…and ourselves.
Thank you Mr Mayorga for getting the word out to the people in Honduras about your beloved grandson’s compassion. David cares and so do his fans! Let us all do whatever we can to hit the goal.
