Xmas From The Heart? No, it’s “Christmas” From The Heart!
I was in awe when I saw David Archuleta’s “thank you” paragraphs in his CD liner notes. Of course
I knew David would thank God, but I didn’t know he’d write four sentences about God and Jesus! As a Christian and a fan, I was just touched, it was simply beautiful. I can’t expect more from him. I just wanted to remind all of you not to cross Christ out of Christmas. Please don’t put Xmas: It’s plain and simple – Christmas. Jesus is the reason for the season, so we shouldn’t be scratching his name off of HIS day. I’m sure David would agree with me!
“I dedicate this album to Him (God) and our savior, Jesus Christ.”- David Archuleta.
The album’s not called, Xmas From The Heart, it’s “Christmas” From The Heart! Please keep that in mind! 8D

Thank you Andrea for reminding us. It’s so easy for everyone to do this even though it’s not intentional, but it DOES make a difference.
It is “CHRISTMAS FROM THE HEART”!!

Sweet, David. Your heart and your mind are in the right place. Giving credit and dedication to God and His son remind us that if you put God first, “… everything else will be given to you.”

‘Xmas’ is a very old term derived from the Greek alphabet. The word “Christ” has been abbreviated in English for a thousand years; as far back as AD 1021, “Christ” was often written with the Greek letters X (chi) and P (rho) fused together. X (symbol for Christ, from the Greek letter chi (X), initial of Christos Christ) + -mas (in Christmas).
So, the abbreviation doesn’t bother me. It’s just a throw-back to an old language. But whenever I see the word ‘Xmas,’ I don’t pronounce the X as ‘eks-məs,’ but read it ‘kris-məs.’ In formal writing, the word “Christmas” should be spelled out.
