David Archuleta’s Christmas From The Heart is finally here! Review Time!!
Okay, so by now many of you have heard David’s “Christmas From The Heart”. It’s time to weigh in! Love it? Hate it? (haha.. as IF) But seriously, what is your opinion of the CD as a whole? I’d like to know what your favorite/least favorite tracks are.. Anything that could’ve been improved on?
Here’s my take. I love it. I LOVE IT. I LOVE IT!!
The more I listen, the more I appreciate certain nuances and subtleties that I missed the first several times. “Pat a Pan” rocks my world. I want this on the radio ASAP. “Silent Night” is ridiculously stunning. What David does with such a simple song astounds me. I have not heard a version on the radio or CD that compares. “Ave Maria” literally took my breath away. The first time I heard it I was in my car. I had already pulled over because “What Child Is This” had me hyperventilating and sobbing like a child. I finished listening to “Ave Maria” and just sat, probably for 10 minutes, in absolute stunned disbelief. I don’t understand a word, yet the emotion of the song ripped my heart wide open.
It’s no wonder David’s level of excitement was unprecedented in his vlog and voice message. He’s delivered us nothing short of a miracle here, folks.
Favorites: Ave Maria, Joy to the World, Silent Night, Pat a Pan, What Child Is This (favorites subject to change at any moment!)
Least faves: Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, I’ll Be Home For Christmas
**One additional note.. I have never heard anyone hum as beautifully as David Archuleta.

Well since no one is commenting, guess I’ll review it for myself. Hey Deb! Yes? Guess what? What? I love all the same songs you do! Huh, what a coincidence…

LOL Deb!
I wrote my review at the AOL MUSIC post yesterday:
I couldn’t stop crying! I can’t find the right words to describe it. All the songs are amazingly beautiful! but there are a few that just hit me straight to my heart and soul. David’s voice is pure HEAVEN!!!! he is an angel!!! no doubt about that!
This album is a masterpiece!!! David’s voice, the arrangements; everything is perfect! even though they are traditional songs, it feels like they are so modern, so contemporary. I also think some of the songs can be heard all year long!
Thank you David!!!! thank you for everything you do for your fans. ETERNAS GRACIAS!!! Dios te bendiga!

“Angels We Have Heard on High”, “O Holy Night”, “Silent Night”, “Ave Maria”, “The First Noel” just went straight to my heart and soul. “Pan-a-Pan”, “I’ll be Home for Christmas”, “Melodies of Christmas” are just incredible!! I could hear those songs all year long!
“I’ll be home for Christmas” has that great jazzy sound to it
David should record an album with that type of sound; it will be amazing!!! I was talking to SherylNotCrow on the phone earlier and we were saying that David is SOOO amazing; he could sing any type of music (even rap, rock, salsa) any music genre, and he would sound AMAZING! he’s simply the best!!!

The first few times I heard Melodies of Christmas I wasn’t sure I liked it. But now, when it comes on, I find myself turning it up and singing along. Honestly, I usually end up loving ANY David song.. some just take a little longer than others!
haha the name SherylNotCrow cracks me up.

This album is stunningly beautiful. All of the songs are sung with such conviction and are truly “David” — On the spiritual side, I knew “Ave Maria” and “O Holy Night” would be amazing before I even heard the CD – and they were; but “Silent Night”? – I’ve never heard such a moving rendition; “What Child is This” and “Angels…High/Jesus…” were also wonderful.
Even the more secular numbers were a joy to listen to and just made you feel good, including the new song “Melodies of Christmas”. Way to go, David. You met all of my expectations and then some.

That’s exactly what I think too Ardy.. I had pretty high expectations of this CD because I know David excels at these types of songs and I expected it to be great. BUT, he didn’t just meet those expectations- He PULVERIZED them!!

I luv the cd, and I like how david added in the melodies of christmas a new song. IT’s jsut a pure cd, and his pure voice. Favorites: silent night, joy to the world, and christmas melodies. Least: I don’t think I have any that I thought weren’t amazing.
