A True David Archuleta Fan

If you’re a true David Archuleta fan…

You don’t say, “I love David Archuleta.”
You say, “I need David Archuleta.”

Not only do you believe in David,
But he’s also the reason you believe at all.

When rumors start to spread,
You’re the one pushing them away.
You’re the one who says “Stop. Enough.”
Even if he never finds out you did, that wasn’t the point anyway.
You didn’t do it to be thanked.
You did it to stand up for him.

You don’t defend him the same way you defend yourself.
You defend him more.

When Ryan Seacrest announced that David Cook won “American Idol,”
You didn’t turn off the TV and walk out of the room.
You kept it on and watched,
Just to make sure he was okay.

When David’s nominated for an award,
You vote until your fingers hurt.
He may never know you did, but you know you did.
Maybe you’ll never be personally thanked, but it doesn’t matter.
The smile on his face when he wins is thanks enough.

And then you think of everything he’s given you- music, friends, his life,
And the things you do for him
Seem like small favors in comparison.

When he needs his space, you back off,
But you’re always waiting, just in case he ever needs you,
The same way he was there when you needed him.

You’re the kind of person who has a billion posters, magazines, and shirts,
But you would give these things up in a heartbeat,
If he wanted you to.

If you’ve met David, you’ve thanked him.
If you haven’t, you’ve been dying for the chance to,
Just so you can let him know what he’s done for you.

When things seem hardest, David’s the reason you get up in the morning.
He’s the reason you get up at all.

David is not just your idol, your inspiration, or even your hero.
He’s your reason.

He’s the reason that you know everything will be alright,
He’s the reason you laugh, the reason you cry, the reason you smile.
He’s the reason you have so many friends.
He’s the reason you understand.
He’s the reason you believe.

They say that when there’s a will, there’s a way.
But you know that really, when there’s a purpose,
When there’s a reason, there’s a way.
Because of David.

IF you could say one thing to David, it wouldn’t be “I love you!” or
“I’m your biggest fan!”
You would only need two words,
Two words that are enough to describe every way he’s ever impacted you,
Two words that say nothing alone, but together mean everything,
Two words that last a lifetime,
Two words that you’ve been dying to say and can never say enough.
