I don’t know about you northerners, but for us students here in south Florida school starts in less than a week. And if David wasn’t where he is now, he’d probably be starting college soon. I’m really not ready for school; I don’t want to go back! So I figured to get us all in the mood, I would jot down some fun things David has told us about himself in certain grades. Let’s start with 8th grade, that’s the earliest grade I could find.

Aww, its David when he was a sophmore!

Aww, its David when he was a sophomore!

8th grade: David said he was a “Hermit” in 8th grade. “I wasn’t sociable. I didn’t like talking to people” – David Archuleta

9th grade: “In ninth grade, I wrote like three songs. And then I never wrote since then. Like then I was brain dead.” - David Archuleta

10th grade: “When I was in school, I had a 4.0, until auditions came, then it wasn’t the same story.” – David Archuleta (During his sophomore year at Murray high school)

11th grade: “The last semester I had one B in college Spanish and the rest were A’s, so that was good. I was in 11th grade when it was my last semester at Murray high school.” – David Archuleta

12th grade: “I didn’t think I’d ever get another chance to go to a school dance, but I asked management and they gave the ok and made time in the schedule for me to go. I had soooo much fun! For our day activity, we had breakfast and then played games. We fit in a lot of them too. We played dodge ball, basketball, musical chairs, apples to apples, and crab soccer. I got a good work out from the crab soccer too haha. We rocked out at the dance too, and even though I sweat so bad it was worth it.” (At his Senior Ball)

On Wanting to go to College: “I do. I’d love to still see what catches my eye. You know, music is something that I don’t think I’ll ever want to give up. But I’d like to see if there are any other occupations I’d find interesting.” – David Archuleta

Only if I could have a time machine and go back to when David was in High School and then somehow convince my parents to move to Murray so I could attend school with David, if only, if only. :(

  1. Thanks for this Andrea, really cool stuff. School starts on the 18th for me, you’re not the only one dreading going back haha. I didn’t know that David was also a good student too, can he do anything wrong! jeez. I gotta make these final two years count huh? Get grades like David? This would be my final year but things happen, take it from me, just do your work and get through it day by day. :)

  2. I loved this Andrea. Really fun to read the different entries and how David’s life changed in just a couple of years. Also good to know that although music is his graet love he is also open to exploring other secondary interests. And the photo is so cute! ;-)
