Please Welcome New AFS Staff Member, Joey!

Hey all, my name is Joey, I live in San Bruno California with my dad, my brother, and sister. Ever since I was a child I’ve loved music. It was my escape from everything going on around me. I sing at my church, and I’m also a Sunday School teacher. Ever since David Archuleta was on American Idol I’ve been a fan. What really set it off for me was his rendition of “Imagine” (like so for many others). I remember having to leave the room after the performance so my family wouldn’t see me cry. You don’t only hear what he sings, but you feel it. Now his music is my escape, it gives me hope, and it gives me strength. The way David lives his life is an example of how I want to live mine. To the fullest, to realize my dreams (which I’m doing by writing for the Fan Scene) to love my family unconditionally, and to serve those in need. David is such a blessing in my life, somebody who has helped me through a lot. For that, I will always be a fan!

Welcome to David’s Fan Scene, Joey!

It encourages me every time I hear someone your age talk about how David’s music gives them hope, and how his moral character encourages them to live better lives.

It really makes me proud of him.

Thanks again you guys. I look forward to writing for AFS. It was such a blessing when Todd actually emailed me back. I filled out the application with a “here goes nothing” attitude. Today I just realized one of my dreams kind of come true….. now I’m just waiting on the other one. Thanks SO much =D

Hi Joey,

I sure liked reading your introduction/bio, and found it to be touching. It does echo what so many of us have experienced with David Archuleta. I was at work the morning after David sang, “Imagine”, and watched it on YouTube. I had to leave my cubicle at work for the same reason you left the room. David is real, his gift profound, and his life a testimony to God…certainly a character worth counting!
