OH NO! this is terrible! scheduling conflicts? what do they mean by that? they should have known about the schedule when they were planning it. Something else must had happened. Too bad for David’s and Demi’s fans.

The rose quarter has not yet announced this. They are still selling tickets
I vow to bring David to Oregon and already made one call, he could have been the headliner for our county fair, lots and lots of people come, I talked to the manager and they would love to have him, there main event just happened to cancel. It would have been Saturday night and it was radio promo day so lots of publicity but alas he is already booked for
08/22/09, I am going to keep searching and find a way for him to play in Oregon lol.. I am not giving up there are toooo many fans here and the Idol tour only gave us 3 songs.

cheryl, I called Rose Garden this morning and they confirmed that it was canceled. They said people who bought tickets online will be automatically refunded within 5-10 days. I also got a cancellation email later in the day. It sucks cause this was my show too. Bought the VIP and everything. I’m going to Seattle now…cannot miss this!

Does Jive really “get” David? Why is David opening for Demi? Shouldn’t it be the other way around? One can understand David’s opening for McFly, but for Demi? And besides, is David being promoted on those canceled shows. Just make a research and one will find out that there is none. The show is of course a Demi Lovato concert. Demi is now claiming to have a vocal strain. The Disney management made a blunder to book big arena for her as headliner in this poor U.S. economic situation. Her fans depend on their parents’ willingness to spend. A big difference from the wider fan base of David some of whom can spend their hard earned money to watch his concert. Maybe this is the time for David to take a much needed rest to concentrate on writing songs and finishing his high school diploma. And to David’s management, please take a look again to Asia. There is a global recession. But the worst hit is the U.S. and the West. Many economists predict Asia will turn-around first. Haven’t you guys noticed that David is loved in Asia? Maybe he should do promotions and concerts more in this continent while you make good strategy for U.S. market? Just a suggestion to help David.

Au – I don’t know if you have been to a concert but you will notice that while there are David Archuleta fans, the crowd is a Demi crowd. People saying that Archuleta is the selling factor can just stop. Bringing the global recession into this is also wholly irrelevant. What makes you think a financially troubled adult is more likely to spend for his own entertainment than his child’s? Look at the demographics statistics put out by the RIAA, it is the kids and teens who rule the concert sales.

Yeah right, the kids and teens rule the concert sales and recession is irrelevant as a factor in this business or in any business. Please explain why the shows are being cancelled in Kentucky, Michigan and one by one in other places Abe? At least for now the David’s management are finding ways for a solo tour in small venue to compensate for cancelled venues. That is damage control or crisis management. What is Demi’s management plan aside from returning the money to ticket buyers? The Demi Lovato Tour is a business and the one who rules are the promoters. If the promoters cannot get their money’s worth in a project, they will dump it.

Au – Excuse me but reread your original comment. YOU were the one that brought up the apparently irrelevant factors: the economy and the demographics (which are not irrelevant btw).
The shows are being cancelled because of scheduling conflicts. Any other reason you can come up with is based off pure assumption.
“The Demi Lovato Tour is a business” – yes but so is everything else. David Archuleta’s career is a business. His tours are a business. The people behind this tour got exactly what they expected: no shows selling out in 10 minutes but many many packed arenas. I really don’t know what you are trying to say here.
Whatever, I’m not going to argue any further here. I respect David but some of his fans are just ridiculous.

Did they cancel Atlantic City, NJ concert yet!? Because I won tickets to it and the women called and said its cancelled becuase they didnt sell enough tickets and its gonna be resceduled to November 5th, 2009!
