Yes, The Singing Blogger went to the David Cook and David Archuleta: Live In Manila concert! It was a very fantastic night and must say, a memorable one, both to the benefit of all the people who watched it and of course, the two Davids, who wouldn’t stop the expression of gratitude due to the overwhelming support of 40,000 people at SM Mall of Asia concert grounds.

Anyway here’s my personal time line log for the said concert:

7:43 P.M – Arrived at the venue, the parking isn’t that hard compared to the Rihanna – Chris Brown concert, a big space is just fit enough for the “carred” watchers.

8:11 P.M. – The sounds started to change, and introductory video was shown. And yes, we all know David Archuleta’s on-stage in a few minutes!

8:13 P.M. – A very endearing instrumental intro (which I already guessed what David A.’s first song is because of it), David Archuleta entered the stage and made everyone touch his hand (not literally, it’s the song Touch My Hand). We can feel the Archuleta shock, he sounded a bit jizzy with some notes, in which we thought he was overwhelmed with the number of people watching! What adds to the nervous feeling? The attention! Everyone in the Gold/Platinum area, was standing over their chair!

8:16 P.M. – The concert continues with the song Barriers with Archuleta losing his “poise” by drinking a bottle water or something just in front of him on the stage! Haha!

Then he reached out and tried to make more noise. How? Simple. By singing A Little Too Not Over You. Still sounded nervous, the song was performed in a lower note on the chorus part, with a strange missed tone over the bridge. He was a bit struggling during this one.

8:20 P.M. – Archuleta finally gets to connect with 40,000 people. By letting the Filipinos hear the word Salamat po! After this, a rest from those high-note songs was done. He performed a lovely song You Can, which some people can’t relate because it’s just in the album. But we can hear a number of people singing to it, that includes me! Haha!

8:24 P.M. – Finally, Achuleta gets the real pace of singing in a concert! The song My Hands was a bit similar and yet a bit better because of modified notes. It was fantastic and performed well! This song was followed by Your Eyes Don’t Lie, in which I heard people saying “What? He’s singing Hips Don’t Lie?” Lolz people.

8:31 P.M. – My personal best timeline part! I already mentioned in my recent blog that I am so dying to hear Archuleta perform To Be With You, and oh my… this is it! Together with the only female band mate (which he mentioned after the song), he performed this one perfectly. In my experience, I went crazy, and I was about to cry during the part “what I wouldn’t give to feel that waaaaaaayy“. Haha! David A. progresses with the way he sings, now more confident and more lovely (did I sound biased?). This was followed by the song Waiting For Yesterday with the mineral bottle in between haha!

8:39 P.M. – He mentioned that he’s going to sing a song which he performed in American Idol. OMG was that Imagine? Because I was about to cry real hard… not. It was a very surprising rendition of Stand By Me. And wait there’s more! The controversial song that made David A.’s father to get banned in American Idol show because of attempting to sing this with the song Beautiful Girls, was performed here! And I can proudly say, damn good ending Archuleta! way to go, I got more goosebumps during this time.

8:49 P.M. – Who would’ve though David Archuleta is going to sing an extremely unexpected song from Vanessa Carlton!? He said this was his first song to study. And yes, it’s A Thousand Miles! In my own opinion, David A. nailed this one better that Carlton’s.

8:55 P.M. – And my time has come. Nah just kidding. It’s because during this time, Archuleta performed of my my all-time favorite song, which I used to perform in contests for years already. This is Angels, his piano-only rendition. My impression? Simple. Recording quality, you may think he did this lipsynch, but you’ll just fail.

9:02 P.M. – The new song Zero Gravity, which is not on the album is the next installation to the very best last bits of Archuleta’s set. Love it so much, people are already dancing during this segment… and more, because at…

9:09 P.M. – David performed his last song and also his first single, Crush. Everyone was freaking out and I saw all these digicams and cellphones! Recording (the screen). Haha!

9:14 P.M. – End of Archuleta’s set. The “Gold” people started sitting again, waiting for the next set.

David Cook performs…

10:59 P.M. – David Archuleta went back to stage! The crowd then yells for the very last time. Humming for the last part of the song, Archuleta gave us the final goosebumps! The two Davids then gave each other a hug and together went out of the stage.
