David Archuleta to Tour With Demi Lovato

Fellow Archies, it’s been confirmed!- David Archuleta will be touring with Demi Lovato during the summer! Eep! It’s the summer tour we’ve all been waiting for! :D

It has been confirmed at FOD by a reliable source.

If you guys aren’t familiar with who Demi Lovato is, she’s a pop singer with amazing vocals. She’s currently also acting on her own TV show, Disney’s Sonny With a Chance.

Personally, I’m a huge Demi fan, so I’m absolutely ecstatic about this! I hope you guys will love her!

I have no problem with david touring with demi but if david is opeing for her then thats terrible.as a co-headliner than thats fine.if david is opening for her then jive had no plans for david .david is way bigger than demi……and if jive didn’t know that then they have no idea who or what david has achieved……….. thought the idea for a summer tour was for david to open for a big star who will expose him to a wider fanbase.is david supposed to be helping someone whom he will open for? i just don’t get the logic.was she a quick fix as the original planned tour mate didn’t work out? [i'm thinking chris brown....cos i havd this gut feeling he was the planned tour mate until this rihanna saga]
    this demi thing doesn’t just add up.it just doesn’t add up.
    thats if david is opening for her.

    demi is popular,has big fanbase, and is a disney star having access to the disney mega audience but yet her sales record is pretty poor compared to what david has achieved in such a short period.

  8. I don’t think this is a very good idea. i think he should tour with a more respectable artist like Jordin or even Cook. I don’t like the idea of him being in the Disney category.. He is WAY better that that. jive needs to get their life together… :/

  9. David has a broader fan base already than do members of the Disney roster. He appeals to youth, but he also appeals to an older audience because of his values and uniquely mature attitudes. The Disney “stars” are cute, but he has a much more serious aspect such as his early commitments to helping others. As an adult, I have no interest in the Disney stars and, frankly, see them as lacking in the substance that David possesses at his young age. I’ve watched some of the interviews with musicians who work with David, and these veterans see the depth of his abilities as an artist. I do hope his managers soon are able to align David with a more mature performer. Until then, the fans simply want the best for him – and regardless of where he goes, they will be there to cheer him.

  11. LOL China! I want to see you with all body parts crossed! If you wish hard enough it will come true! You must have heard about my altered vacation plans in order to go to Del Mar.

    My two cents on the summer tour — I don’t know what everyone is getting so upset about! This is GREAT for David — is it great for Demi too?— you bet!

    Why does David sing? He does NOT do it for the fame for fames sake, he does not do it for the money —- though he does need to make some. David is far from being a prima donna type — and so his fans should not be saying — oh he should be doing this, he deserves to that, he is better than this, or that, etc …

    I feel that David has a purpose to his life beyond this — just like the firesides he has been so gracious to do — I believe he wants to make a connection to the young people of this country, be a good role model – something that is sorely lacking otherwise right now.

    Catering to his hard core fans will not accomplish that – we already know all about him, we have told our children all about him.

    David will NOT be “disney-fied” because of this — oh no, the audience at these events will be filled with young disney-phite fans of Demi, many will barely know about David — but when the concert is over — they will be Archiefied !
    and so it goes …..

    We should be happy and thankful that David is touring again; that his fans are going to be able to enjoy his performances again (Live and/or on videos). We should be happy that David keeps on doing what he loves to do…sing and perform!!!! he doesn’t want to be the # 1 artist in the US or the world, he only wants to sing and communicate with people (of all ages) through his voice and music.

    I know his fans love him and they give their opinions to what they think is the best for David, but we are not his music managers, or we are not the owners of David’s record label. Some fans have been complaining about Hannah Montana, McFly and now Demi Lovato; I think that all David fans will never agree to what is good or bad for David and he can’t please every single fan. And we also have to remember that David is 18 years old; he is still a teenager!! I know he is not the typical teenager, but he is not a 20, 30, 40, 50 year old man either. If we truly love and believe in David, we should support him! even if we don’t like some of the things going on in his career right now.

    I pray that David comes to Florida. I will see David not matter who else performs with him, not matter if I’m the only middle aged woman in the audience. If I have the chance and the means to see David Archuleta, I will do it not matter what, not matter who, not matter where.

    David is going to have a very successful music career; there will be more albums and more concerts. But if what we have now is David touring with Demi, let’s enjoy it!!!! let’s be thankful!! let’s show David our love and our admiration.

Sandra thanks for your great comment – and you are so right, this is great for David touring with another young singer and we should be happy for him; next time he goes on tour it might be with a complete different artist – but does it matter??? I don’t think so!! And don’t think you’ll ever be the only middle aged woman in the audience because I’ll be there too – so let’s join China80 and cross all that can be crossed – and david WILL

    David’s real fans will be behind him no matter what he decides to do, and if that’s touring with Demi, then fine. She’s a great singer too. At least we have the chance to see him again, and I promise you there will be as many David fans there as Demi fans! Both of them are great and thsi is just gonna expose David to even more people! Sure, it would be better if he was touring with someone else. I mean, yeah, I would happier if he wasn’t the opening act, but I’m still really excited about this! At least I get to see him again and being a real fan, I don’t care who he’s touring with. I have a chance to be there and that’s what matters!

  19. Thanks SandraDB… We should think Positively for David and I totally agree with you. We should give him a wider choice of exposure. This is just the beginning. We have loads of faith in David’s capabilities. David himself is not selfish in sharing with us to also listen to other singers everytime when he posted his blog messages. As a great fan, we will continue to support him and only him & wish him every success in his career.

  20. I actually think, in my honest opinion, that this is not a good idea. I mean, I really want David to tour with artists like Sara Bareilles or Jason Mraz. I think that touring with younger singers will be good, but I think it would be better if it’d be with Taylor Swift since not only is she a big star in the music industry, she is also a fine artist/songwriter. I’m sorry, this is just my opinion. But whatever, David’s gonna be great, and I think he knows what he’s doing.
