Pres. Monson and David Archuleta, a memorable visit
President Thomas S. Monson (the 16th President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) invited David Archuleta to visit him in his office March 27 when the teen singer was in Salt Lake City in preparation for a concert that evening in West Valley City, Utah. The “American Idol” runner-up and his parents, Jeff and Lupe Marie Archuleta, were visiting another office in the Church Administration Building when the invitation was extended to visit with President Monson. The young singer treated President Monson and his office staff to an impromptu concert in a board room in the Administration Building. He sang “How Great Thou Art” from the LDS Hymnal. One office staff member said the rendition was “phenomenal.”

I was there the next day, and when they told me he had just been there I kinda flipped out and jumped up and down. I’m sure everyone around me thought I was crazy.

I was there the next day too Holly!!! The woman in the booth told me she shook his hand and that he was a very nice young man. I think it was probably best if we weren’t there when he was there LOL

You’re right Carla, it was probably a really good thing we weren’t there. I would hate myself forever if I fangirled over him at Temple Square of all places lol. But in reality, if I DID see him there, I would have totally left him alone and respected his private time. I would be flipping out inside though lol.
