David recently sent “PAPI WILLY” this huge autographed poster which he displays like a proud ”PAPI”.

Mr. Mayorga is a retired Journalist. He one of the founders of “La Prensa” the local Honduran newspaper. He worked as a Radio, Television and Newspaper journalist. He was well known in his hometown of Honduras. Everyone loved him because he was always there to lend a helping hand Professionally or Spiritually any day, any time.

Mr. Mayorga, who is Lupe’s father, was quoted as saying before the winner was announced on American Idol:“No matter what happens, he is triumphant.”
We could not agree more, David is Triumphant.

Ah thanks so much for sharing all this about David’s papi. I have always just been fascinated with the kindly look he has. He just looks like the most gentle man. Iv’e noticed how much David looks like both his Abuelita and Papi. He resembles them both in outward appearance AND inward too. I was so happy to see the article and sweet photo of Senor Mayorga. He shows a gentle spirit and a quiet dignity. In his face I see a little of my own grandfather who was born in Mexico.
My grandfather’s English was not perfect…but he was a good business man and he devoted himself to helping others. I look at David and Vanessa’s Papi Willy and see my own Grandpa Lorenzo. It was very kind of the family to share this with the fans.
