Jennifer Hudson stole the show at the Super Bowl with her rousing rendition of the National Anthem – and now her fellow “American Idol” alumnus David Archuleta is hoping to follow in her footsteps.
Archuleta will perform the National Anthem at the NFL Pro Bowl in Hawaii on February 8.
“I’ll be going to Hawaii to sing the National Anthem at the Pro Bowl, and it’ll be my first time in Hawaii! Woot woot!” last season’s “Idol” runner-up wrote.
Archuleta, who was in Florida over the weekend performing at a “corporate event” with “Idol” champ David Cook, said a church commitment kept him from seeing Hudson’s Super Bowl performance.
“I called my friend to listen to Jennifer Hudson sing the National Anthem over the phone lol. It was so good! Jennifer has pipes!” Archuleta added. “I watched it on YouTube later.”
David will be at Ohana Day on Saturday, Feb. 7. The event is from 9 to 12 pm at Aloha Stadium

Editor’s Note: Fan Scene was at the Palm Beach Gardens, FL event where David himself reconfirmed his attendance at the Pro Bowl on Feb 8th. He was very excited about going to Hawaii.
The Pro Bowl pits the best players from the AFC against the best from the NFC.Fans, players and coaches vote to determine rosters. The game has been held the week after the Super Bowl at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu since 1980. Interesting note, the 2010 Super Bowl and Pro Bowl will be in Miami, FL.

Thanks for the info. This event is going to be televised on National TV, awesome! 02/09/2009 at 4:30 PM on NBC. Thousands of people are going to be watching. I’m sure a lot of them will become Archies after listening to David.
Best of luck David!!! We know you will do an amazing job, as always! Sandra DB – Venezuela(Quote)
