  10. wow this schedule is a shock to me! nothing in UTAH!? or FLORIDA?! or NYC!? I guess the venue closest to me is Sayerville, NJ. I’m hoping for something closer, but if there isn’t anything I’ll be going to NJ! =/

    im so upset about this, upstate new york is like the LEAST populated of the whole state, they definitely should’ve scheduled him for the CITY [-_____-]

Natalie, sorry you are upset but it’s good for David to go to areas he hasn’t been too, it’s great promotion–it’s awesome to see and I am sure no matter what schedule is made, there will be people out there that it can’t cater too, I am just thankful he is going on his first solo tour and people can see how awesome he is live:)

  28. thanks soo much todd, you are awesome! although these are not the stops i was hoping for, i will support david by going to as many as i can get to here on the west coast (i am from the central coast area of northern california)….it is vital that we sell out as many of these shows as possible so that his next tour will be larger in terms of cities/venues….this is just the beginning of a looong journey for david! how exciting!!

  33. SusanM — it is just too good to be true, of all the places tour could go – so close to you.
    CindyAZ – and you won’t have to drive so far this time!

    Todd – if you can explain the GA more — GA as in standing room only, or GA for seated venues means first come first serve instead of assigned seats (it is going to be mad house if so – so hopefully not). If so I imagine purpose is not to have special price seating?

    All this standing — this Archie supporting is going to go out and buy some arch supports.

  35. I know going to places other than big cities is good promotion for David, but I’m sure people would rather travel to larger cities to see him rather than people in big cities traveling to small ones. It just doesn’t make sense.

    All these stops take so much more effort to go to, which to me, equals less crowd/profit/exposure. I’m devastated he’s not coming to OR or WA, but the fact that Utah’s not even on the list blows my mind. I bet they are rioting. It makes me so sad to think I will miss his first solo tour =(

  38. I, too, wish David were in larger venues, as I really think he would have a sell-out crowd. But remember he is just starting – this is his first solo. Plus, some of the places he may have wanted to go could have already been booked. It seems David’s tour for now was planned just within a few months. Larger venues are probably reserved years ahead. We have to be patient. Fortunately I live in the East!! Thanks Todd.

  39. I’m glad that david is doing his solo tour. Definately it can’t meet everybodys desire but i know david has fans who will go anywhere just to hear him. lucky you all that will be going.

    My only saddness is that he will not be sing with the awesome band as it costs so much to have them.they really sounded so good together.I’m still praying that someday they will re-group again.

    David now your having your solo tour. please!!!!! no cover songs.it’s time to ditch 1000miles.you have 12 songs and 5 bonus super awesome songs combined to thrill archies with.start now to practice them.no excuse of you didn’t have time to practice them.

  43. Thanks Todd! It seems that I’m the last one to know about all this : ( No concert in Florida, too bad. I know he is coming to Florida the first week of February (I don’t know if I will be able to go; those events were announced too late), but I don’t think the secret concert will be as the concerts on his tour.

    Hanne!! I don’t know what to tell you. I really hope they start adding dates and Florida is included and you are able to come and see David. But we know David can’t go to every city in the US or the world. I know he would love to please everybody but he can’t.

    Todd, thanks for the announcement about the radio promos in Florida. I hope I’m able to see David at one of those radio appearances at least.

    Good luck to the fans that are able to see David during his first solo tour! I know it is going to be an unforgettable and amazing experience.

  47. For those that don’t recognise Northampton MA as a New England city, it’s an easy (under 1 hour) commute from AI Tour venues Hartford, Worcester, and even Providence RI is only about 1.5 hours. UMass is nearby and students help drive the Northampton club attendance. Not my first choice but a very good one.

  55. THANKS TODD FOR THE GREAT NEWS!! I AM VERY HAPPY FOR ALL THAT WILL BE ABLE TO GO!!!

    FLORIDA fan here and I am TOTALLY devastated!! I am sitting here with my heart aching and in tears. I am trying VERY hard not to cry because I don’t want my husband to know much of a SYCHO I really am about David. This is very, very hard to take. I guess I have to wait a bit longer, hopefully this summer.

    I could understand David not coming to Orlando, Tampa or even St. Pete. I don’t understand why not Miami? How about Georgia? I was even talking myself into flying to Georgia if I had to. Guess not.

    AJ, I REALLY feel for you and everyone in the same position.

    AGAIN I AM TRULY HAPPY FOR EVERYONE — ENJOY!! Now I have to keep talking to myself……. He will come to Florida. He will come to Florida. He will come to Florida.

    On a happier note today is my 29th Wedding Anniversary!!

  59. (GA) or General Admission usually means there is no reserved seating. In other words, seating is pretty much first come, first seated. There should still be standing areas left after the seats have been filled. The (seated) venues would have reserved seating. The capacity for these venues seems to run from about 900 – 1,500 people. I’m sure that GA won’t be a problem at these shows since the Arch Angels are, by nature, a well behaved group. :) I don’t have dates for when the tickets will go on sale. I do know there may be a few special “surprise” musical guests appearing with David along the way. The tour isn’t coming near me either, which is a disappointment, but I will get to see him at one of the radio promos. The Florida radio promo stops aren’t actually “concerts.” If David performs it will most likely be one or two songs with him on his keyboard. Honestly, I’m excited about that! I think it’s great to have the opportunity to be able to see David perform in smaller, more personal settings before he hits the arenas and there’s a sea of people swaying in front of me, lol! :D

    - David has fans all of the world who would give anything to be able to go see him even if it meant just a 9 hour drive somewhere! Obviously he can’t be everywhere
    — now I know I am super lucky to be able to just have 2 plus hour drive on 5 different rush hour laden freeways — but I am glad that they are going to some unique places.
    Well – let’s just remember this is about David wanting to reach out to people with his music – and not just about ourselves.

  62. I AM SOOOOOO EXCITED FOR THIS!!! I am planning on going to the Idaho Falls concert. I will be flying from Portland Oregon. But, I have to do it to see David once again. I have waited…not necessarily as patient as I should have…but wait we all have done!! I hope to get new pictures of David and hope to get my camera in the door!! Isn’t this exciting??? I have never been so exited for tour dates as I am with DAVID!!!

    Richard Parkinson mentioned yesterday that this concert does have GA but also has reserved seating for $39 or when said and done about $50. I am buying the reserved seating!!

  64. hi, i happen to be the talent buyer for the glass house concert hall in pomona, ca. a fan on here forwarded me this link. we are announcing our 3/17/09 show with David Archuleta tomorrow am, and tickets go on sale friday 1/30/09 at noon through ticketmaster.com and at the glass house record store monday through saturday noon-8pm (next to the glass house venue, with no service fee). we have not been informed on who support will be for the show. we are an all ages venue, no alcohol (however there is a bar next door with full id of course). we are a general admission room, no reserved seating. basically, first come first serve as far as where you are in the crowd. we have a balcony as well. you can see the stage from anywhere in the room. i tend to stand in the back when watching the bands, and i can see just fine. we allow digital cameras (anything professional needs to be approved through David’s publicist prior). we are owned by the owner of the coachella music festival and goldenvoice. we have hosted 1000’s of artists including no doubt, beastie boys, snoop dogg, tegan and sara, onerepublic, etc etc etc. feel free to email me with any questions you might have at jon@theglasshouse.us. we are stoked to see the excitement of the fans for this tour. we tend to book a lot of indie rock, where the fans are a bit more subdued, haha.

  65. TOUR DATES! WOW, THANKS. Yes, yes all very exciting!!! GO DAVID!!! But I admit that I am painfully disappointed that David’s tour isn’t coming to Colorado (home), Florida (family), or Seattle (friends). Albuqueque or Boise may be possible but the venues do not look very atrractive. And in Feb. & March? May we expect a summer tour? Is this just a trial to see if a longer, more extensive tour is possible? OH I HOPE SO.

  68. I’m happy for Idaho. Tour didn’t go to Idaho and there will be many fans in Idaho. Also, for the most northern part of Utah, the Idaho venues are just as close as Salt Lake City. Plus people in Montana and Wyoming and even northern Colorado can drive to IF. People in Oregon can get to Boise. The best thing would be for these venues to sell out quickly – give a message to David and Jive that he is a big draw.

    I bet David will do more touring this year. This is a good first run. Perhaps it’s a living, breathing, growing schedule, too. There is room at either end for more dates and places. I imagine he will be promoting ALTNOY quite a bit in February, like he’s doing in Florida.

    Thankfully we have the internet to take us where we can’t go.

Real life just gets in the way…school, work, MONEY, etc. But I am hoping and praying for an OR/WA venue to be added. Big cities have small venues too (fingers crossed)! I can’t even begin to imagine what Utah archies are feeling. I will hope and pray for them as well =]

    This schedule goes through the end of March. For those who are disappointed about David not coming to your area, I ask you have some patience as it is possible they are still working on my dates but they are not finalized. These dates are for only 3 months and I am sure more dates will be annouced…possible to larger venues and maybe with other acts? He is not, at the point, coming to Oregon or Washington so I will fly to the closest one to me as I feel it is worth it. BESIDES I HAVE TO GET MORE PHOTOS FOR EVERYONE TO ENJOY…HAHAAH

  75. I know some of you guys are disappointed in the tour dates, but keep in mind he’s trying to go to the areas that didn’t get to have the American Idol Tour. I mean, he’s going to Lancaster, Pa, probably the most rural area in Pennsylvania, filled with Amish people, but i’m still going, and it’ll give some of those who didn’t have a chance before, to go now :)

  77. Hi Ciara,

    The Bad Religion show is at the Rialto Theatre in Tucson, AZ. David’s show is at the Marquee in Phoenix (technically Tempe) Arizona. That website has info about a bunch of different venues.

    Some venues, like the Chameleon, have other artists booked for shows on the same dates. I’m assuming David’s show will be earlier in the evening.

    Also, thank you Jon for the helpful information about the Glass house!

    WE do understand that he is going to different cities from AI Tour. WE do understand that he is trying to reach out to more fans.

    WE just care so much about him and want to see him perform so badly that it hurts not being on the 1st Tour dates. Everyone is just voicing their frustration of not being able to go sooner.

As much as we don’t want to stretch David too thin or be selfish in any way, as we recognize that this is a HUGE milestone for him, but remember that this is a huge milestone for US as well! We just want so badly to be there to see David, share the moment with him, and support him! Fingers crossed for UT, FL, OR, WA, etc. etc………..

I understand that he’s trying to reach out to more fans, but I still feel pretty bummed.It would be my dream to travel somewhere to see david.I live in Oregon, and I am not old enough to travel alone.I even asked him if he would ever come back to Oregon, and he said he loves it, and he hopes so.

  83. I also noticed that the 3/14 Albuquerque date listed on David’s tour schedule at the Sunshine Theater does not appear on that theater’s events page. Perhaps the theater has not yet updated their schedule? Are these dates really firm?

  84. I know everyone is really excited about seeing David on his first solo tour, and I know some people have a lot of questions, and or doubts, about the validity of this schedule. I can assure you this is the authentic, first release of the proposed OFFICIAL tour schedule which is subject to change; but as of now, all dates on this schedule have been confirmed. The venues will probably not update their websites until Jive or Azoff has formally made the announcement. :)

    And he’s going to Boise I see…I’m not sure if I would be able to make it…what makes it more upsetting is that it’s a week before our spring break here! It sounds like it’s on a weekend though…but even still I don’t think I’d be able to go because I might have to miss school that Friday/Monday and my parents wouldn’t like that. hmm…If only it were a week later I would be able to go without worrying about having school since it would be spring break. What would’ve been even better than spring break would be just like a really long tour going in many places all across the country during the summer. Then I’d be happy since everyone could go! Including me. :) Of course I don’t think that’s the complete schedule just part of it. It’s kinda maddening that there’s no Washington, Oregon, Utah, or Florida dates! It’s just wow. Maybe when the full schedule is released they’ll show some…let’s hope. Well of course I wouldn’t be able to make Utah or Florida unless it were the summer, I’m just surprised about that since he has lots of fans (not me, since I live in Washington) from those states.

    Now for us fans in Washington, I’m hoping that there will be something going on here or in Oregon. Maybe if it were spring break at the time I could make it to someplace on the West side of the state like Seattle or in Portland, Oregon. Maybe on a regular weekend if I would be allowed to skip some school on Friday for it. I doubt it though. If it were Spokane, WA I’d be MUCH more lucky BY FAR. Us here on the East side of the state…lol. I live here in the small town, East side of the state, about 1 1/2 hours away from Spokane, so it’s pretty easy. We go there all the time when there’s good concerts to see, like I also saw Sara Bareilles and Carrie Underwood there. That would be the easiest for me since we can make it any night! And I’m sure there are some other fans here in Eastern Washington just dying to see him. Just making my point here.

    Either

    1. He has the Boise show during Spring Break or else Seattle or Portland during Spring Break
    2. Spokane any night
    or
    3. Does a concert anywhere during the summer (Since I love to travel during the summer! I went to UT last summer and watched the AI concert there and saw David!)

    And if that can’t happen, I don’t think I’ll be able to go. :,(

Great…How is the person who works will be able to drive 3 hours in the evening on the weekday to the venue in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere and 3 hr. back and go to work/school next day? Annie, it’s amazing what parents will do to get their kiddos to a concert, it’s amazing what this parent(talking about myself)will do to see David in concert..we are doing some traveling, and I am bringing my kids to one of the concerts that is on a weekend, and the other is in spring break, but honestly if he were coming here or even a few hrs from here on a school night,there is no doubt that I would take my kids out of school..

  128. Reno is pretty close to Northern California. We are very happy David is coming to Reno! We come from the Bay Area. I got the call from my daughter today. She is so excited to see David again.
