David Archuleta In Honduras

I lost a bunch of my older Street Team photos of David awhile back when I had to replace the hard drive on my computer, but luckily I saved a bunch of Lupe’s emails on AOL. I went through some of them this morning and found these. The pictures of David singing on the float at Carnaval Laceiba in Honduras were taken on 07/29/2003. The other pictures were also taken in Honduras on 05/27/2004 at the Lisa “Left Eye” Lopez Foundation benefit. There is one photo of David, Lupe, and the Lopez family along with a news reporter from Channel 17 in Honduras.

  1. Thanks for posting these pictures! David looks so adorable on the first one. I read that David sang Celia Cruz’ “La Vida es un Carnaval” at this event. I tried to look for more information (or a possible video) and I didn’t have any luck : (

David’s face glows (well, it always glows) when he talks about Honduras. It is so awesome that he feels proud of his Latin roots and we Latin Americans are so proud of David : )

  4. I still have a keychain Lupe sent me from that last time. It’s a mini sandal that says “Honduras” on the bottom of the sole. I still have that keychain. I keep my key to the pool on it, ha ha. :)

  5. The shirt is the Lisa Lopes (TLC) Foundation…from the official website:

“Although she was a member of one of the most successful pop groups of all time, Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes spent a good portion of the last years of her life very far from the limelight. In the late 1990s she traveled to the impoverished Central American country of Honduras for the first time, and soon made a second home for herself there. She was drawn to the country’s natural beauty, holistic healing, and most of all to its people. When she passed away there in 2002, she was in the process of bringing to fruition her dream of establishing a non-profit educational and medical center on some property she owned near the coastal cities of La Ceiba and Jutiapa. Today, the Lisa Lopes Foundation is poised to make Lisa’s dream a reality.”
